The challenges of the contemporary world impose new economic logic and visions, such as the growing need for circular business models, instead of linear ones, which promote the concept of services instead of resources. The world is changing dynamically, but it seems that the national states’ models for resolving crises are relatively outdated. Nowadays, nation states control their economies relatively symbolically. They are dependent on global agreements, transnational capital, foreign investors, etc. The implementation of active policy in times of crisis implies an emphasis on the control, provision and management of strategic resources by the countries, modelling the main global processes. The article discusses specific forms and methods of global rivalry.

The article addresses issues of national security as part of cultural identity

This article examines the use of key terms in research publications in the field of syntax which focus on the linguistic status, the specific features, and the typology and realisations of appositive constructions. The main focus of analysis is on the inconsistent, unacceptable and unjustified use of key terms, such as „apposition“, „appositive“, „аppositivity“, „appositional“, and their derivatives and word-combinations of a terminological nature. The arbitrary mixing and replacement of these terms could cause significant problems related to the presentation and reception of the texts in which they are used and the authors’ intention. The study also systematizes and summarizes the dominant meanings of the fundamental terms and analyzes some debatable solutions in regard to their use in linguistic studies in several foreign languages.

This article examines one of the latest and most controversial pieces of information about the origin of the Bulgars . In our attempt to establish its historical credibility, we compared the most important Greek and Old Bulgarian copies of St. Clement of Ohrid’s Life, and suggested a date and possible ideological motives behind the creation of so-called „Moesian legend”. Special attention is paid to the coincidence between the names of the modern Bulgarian cities and towns of Varna, Kavarna and Shabla and the toponyms registered in the Hittite inventory inscriptions of the 2nd millennium BCE.
