Due to its potential economic return, tourism-related initiatives, including governments, are increasingly focusing on the tourism destination market. It is critical to use efficient marketing methods to enhance travel motivation—especially under the global crises like a pandemic—by encouraging positive consumer impressions of tourism destinations. The main purpose of tourism marketing is to develop a destination image that can enable a sustainable demand for visits through interaction with consumer expectations. One of the most effective marketing methods is to compile stories, which have become a traditional method throughout human history. Narratives use stories to convey various options on behalf of the destination experience in order to build an optimum perception of persuasion. Any destination can have a unique historical culture and original characteristics to be the source materials for effective narrative advertising. These stories should trigger their intention to visit by attracting the attention of potential tourists, and even convince them to visit these destinations.

After the WikiLeaks incident, the world today is under the shock of the document. Since the moment of the invention of writing and the entry of man in historical times, the document has remained in the context of the closeness of holiness. Yes, human history is witnessing the leaking of more documents of the utmost importance, but the disclosure of this speed and free and direct and defamation only besieged the documents and stamps them with the symbolism missing, after the overthrow of the status of dear and beloved, and disperses prestige on the web platform. It is a departure from the meaning for which the document was historically designed. What was private became commonplace in a confusing way, and it was a secret exposed, and what was stored for 30 years or more, according to the value of the document and its effects, was public before reaching the decision-maker.

Stories and events that are not worth telling or do not have access to the necessary media cannot even get lost from the dusty pages of history because they cannot enter those pages at all. Historical records became the books with the invention of the printing press, and in time, the term “dusty pages” was used as the approach made on these books. Nowadays, these dusty pages are replaced by obsolete codes or graphics. Today, the narrative and the story, which has become completely digital, have different means of expression. “Virtual reality” narratives, which is one of the new generation tools used by digital storytelling, have become more common. The virtual reality content that transforms the codes and forms of the traditional narrative with its own means and approach brings the narrator to an interactive dimension by positioning the viewer/listener as “user” in this context. Thus, in this study, through the example of “Eleven Eleven VR” game, a hermeneutic approach to virtual reality technology as a digital storytelling tool, will be performed.

Ancient Greek mythology has a significant place in modern Western culture. Swiss psychoanalyst Carl Gustav Jung believed that myths and mythological archetypes were the expression of people's collective unconscious. He used the archetypes to understand human psychology, as every archetype has strong personality traits that bring light to modern people's lives, because archetypal traits have reached today via collective unconscious. Archetypes are also significant figures contributing to science of communication that aim to analyze discourse, such that all of them have a different manner of discourse that is connected with their unique traits. Starting from this point, one of the most famous woman politician's, Hillary Clinton's, discourses in the 2016 United States presidential debates are analyzed on the purpose of revealing her traits related to ancient Greek goddesses.

Few people can show mathematics, physics, chemistry, geometry, or foreign language among the lessons they love in the educational process. It is no doubt that these lessons, which are difficult to understand and challenging to solve, still maintain their vitality in memories. Apart from these well-known essential areas, it is undeniable that among the new branches of science that developed in the 20th century, one is least as scary as the others. Semiotics (or semiology) is one of the problematic fields with its sophisticated theories in the 19th century until Arthur Asa Berger applied the edutainment (learning by fun) method to semiotics by his work “Saussure Suspects.”

In this study, the role of psychological commitment to the team and fanaticism on aggression were examined. In the research, personal information form, psychological commitment to the team scale, fanaticism scale for football fans, and aggression inventory were applied to the participants. This study was conducted with 336 volunteer participants between the ages of 18-60. The independent groups t-test and Spearman Rho correlation coefficient were used in data analysis. As a result of the research, it was found that as the psychological commitment to the team and fanaticism levels increase, the aggression level increases. In addition, it is seen that the aggression levels of male participants are higher than female participants. It is thought that the research findings will contribute to the development of policies to be created to prevent aggression in sports.

Many discourses encourage the international mobility of students as a proof of intercultural openness. The studies abroad are included in all the curricula and satisfy the international profile of future candidates coming in the labour market. In this context, the international mobility of high school pupils is also promoted to acquire a form of personal autonomy with the acquisition of a new language. There is a strong mobility of international pupils that spend a year abroad in another educational system. In Sweden, the choice of a high school depends on the grades obtained earlier but also on what the high schools offer in terms of short international mobility (study trip to England). The programme “One Year in France/Spain/Germany/Austria” was created at the end of the 1980s with the board of international programmes from the Swedish Ministry of Education, some embassies and cultural centres from the concerned countries, the Swedish Institute in Paris. The chapter analyzes the narratives of the students who took part in the programme.

Nowadays, with globalization, dark tourism has become one of the rising stars of popular culture and tourism trends; in fact, it has existed in human life for centuries. Although the role of the media in this popularization process is great, visits to tombs and monuments, museum visits, historical sites, and places that are remembered with negative stories actually get involved in the dark tourism activity, albeit unknowingly. Dark tourism has been the subject of academic research in the last two decades, thanks to its popularity; basically, it describes travels to places famous for death, catastrophe, natural disaster, war, or legendary narratives. The heartbeat of the “storyteller,” who had an important place for Walter Benjamin and that he defended to disappear, started to be heard again in the dark tourism event. This research is the product of an effort to rethink the storyteller through dark tourism.

The digital age has affected and changed individuals, businesses, marketing-advertising activities, and city and country governments. Designing action plans suitable for the digital age in political, economic, and social fields acting in accordance with the requirements of the digital age has almost become a necessity. In political communication, party leaders, candidates, and local administrators communicate with the public by using social media tools. In Turkey, after the local elections held on March 31, 2019, IMM, the decision of repeating election of 23rd June, was given. This study examines Twitter posts that are shared by the municipalities in Turkey. The study will examine how the image of the city is reproduced and transmitted within the political narrative in local elections.

This chapter examined how religious opinion leaders guide people on religious issues and inform them how they should live shape the social segments they address. According to this review, four religious opinion leaders were selected, and their profiles on social media platforms were put into content analysis. As a result of the analysis, the forms of conservatism represented by religious opinion leaders were determined, and the characteristics of the Muslim identity they had built were determined. In this context, the similarities and differences of the identities revealed have been deduced. In this way, data was collected that could be used in other studies on religious opinion leaders.
