Communal crisis and rural community are juxtaposed given the background that Nigeria is anchored upon a conglomeration of cultures with the assumption that cultural heritage should be enjoyable under a benign condition. Unfortunately, societal dynamics emerged with different value systems and new orientations, paving the way for a "jet age" characterized by deviance, conflict and immediate gratification. Nigerian contemporary society is characterized by an identified crisis with common features of destructive, confrontational and violent dimensions, which has led to the loss of lives and property worth millions of naira. Most rural communities have been characterized by unhealthy conflictual situations, which has eventually turned the settlements into theatres of blood and fire emanating from various communal conflicts. The energy of communal violence has assumed a centre stage in our day-to-day interactions. Despite numerous attempts at stemming the tide of such violence, all concerted efforts have proved abortive. The issue is on the ascendency and has also defied remedial measures to curb such negativing phenomenon.  This has a lasting and deleterious effect on the social development of rural communities. Social development means investing in people, which requires the removal of barriers so that all citizens can journey toward their dreams with confidence and dignity. The study adopted a cross-sectional research survey method using a structured questionnaire as an instrument for data collection to examine the impact of the communal crisis on people’s livelihood sources. Data was collected from 800 samples selected from 4 political wards in Akamkpa Local Government Area of Cross River State, Nigeria Descriptive statistics were used to analyze the data. The result from the descriptive analysis was subjected to parametric statistics at 0.05 confidence level. The findings revealed a significant effect of the communal crisis on people’s sources of livelihood in Akamkpa local government area of cross river state, Nigeria. Based on this finding, the study calls for government intervention in the way of policy change and social intervention in the affected area and other parts of Nigeria Affected by communal conflict.

This study aimed to determine students' interest in learning and mathematical resilience in online learning and their impact on understanding concepts. The research used in this study is Ex-post facto, namely research with a quantitative approach that aims to test or explain the relationship between variables through hypothesis testing. The research was conducted at SMA Negeri 8 Kendari class XI students in the 2020/2021 academic year. The research sample was 24 students of Class XI IPA 1 SMA Negeri 8 Kendari. Sampling using purposive sampling technique based on students' readiness to participate in online learning without network constraints. The instruments used in this study were questionnaires and tests. Questionnaires were used to obtain information about mathematical interest and resilience. In contrast, the test is used to obtain data about the ability to understand concepts. The data analysis technique used in this study was descriptive analysis technique and inferential analysis, which was carried out with the help of the SPSS 22 computer program. The results showed that students' interest in online learning had a significant influence on concept understanding. Likewise, students' mathematical resilience in online learning has a significant influence on conceptual understanding. The analysis results also show a significant effect of interest and resilience together on understanding mathematical concepts. The percentage contribution of the influence of interest and resilience variables on understanding mathematical concepts is 77.8%, while other variables influence the rest.

In this paper, the author introduces about building the support system of production schedule, based on the linear programming model, exploiting effectively Branch and Bound (BnB) algorithms in Lingo software. In addition, the result of the study is the software that supports production schedule based on the C# programming language, friendly interface makes the operator easy to use. After the implementation and final test, the research model is applied to the case of the garment company to support the production schedule, reduces the number of orders delayed, shorten the production time to increase profits for the company.

The study objective is to analyze the effect microcredit scheme on household income in Northern Cross River State. The convenient sampling technique was used in collecting data from three Local Government Area that make up Northern Cross River State. The Survey Monkey Sample Determinant Technique was used to arrive at a sample size of 1515, selected using a stratified and convenience sampling technique from Northern Cross River State, Nigeria. A self-developed semi-structured questionnaire was used as the instrument of data collection. Data collected was analyzed using descriptive statistics and Linear Regression. Out of the 1515 instrument distributed, 1306 was returned and used for analysis. The result revealed that all the participants were beneficiaries of Microcredit Scheme. 95.02 per cent reported that since benefitting from Microcredit scheme, their businesses have improved, and 96.78 per cent reporting that their family's living condition has improved since benefitting from microcredit scheme. The results from the descriptive analysis were subjected to parametric statistics using simple linear regression. The results review that woman involving in microcredit scheme has significantly improved household income in the Northern Cross River. This is because the result indicated an R-value of .245a. The regression ANOVA revealed that the F (1, 1307) = 83.345; p < .05, is significant. Based on this result, the study recommends a need for various enlightenment programmes to educate rural people on the benefit of obtaining microcredit for businesses and economic activities that will help move them out of poverty.

Studies on the consumption of information technologies, electronic devices and digital networks have shown that expectations are explanatory variables of processes of acceptance, adoption and intensive use that would be linked to anxiety and addiction, as well as to processes of aggression such as stalking, buying or infidelity. In the case of the Internet and electronic networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, SnapChat, Periscope, YouTube or WhatsApp, there have been trends towards violence that can trigger and suicidal ideation. However, the measurement of the sociocultural and sociocognitive determinants of intensive use have not established integral models that explain the structure of relations between the variables. Therefore, the present work was proposed to validate an instrument that measures the phenomenon, considering the exposure or the intensive use of electronic networks. The factors that determine the intention of use in a factor structure that explained 63% of the total variance were confirmed, although the design limits the findings to the research scenario, suggesting the inclusion of another factor related to the behavior...

A new compound LK001 identified as 2-Isopropenyl-1-methoxyl-7, 7-dimethyl-4, 9-imidazo-5-hydroxy pyrimidine and named Alchorneinol has been extracted from the root bark of Alchornea hirtella plant. It was isolated using solvent-solvent extraction method from the powdered root bark of A. hirtella. The white powdered compound was slightly soluble in water, ethanol chloroform and tested positive for unsaturation. The compound LK001 contained Carbon, Hydrogen, Oxygen, and Nitrogen during elemental analyses. It also tested positive for the presence Hydroxide group thus making it slightly different from the already reported drug Alchorneine. The fragmentation patterns proposed from the Mass spectrum for Sample LK001 and by McLafferty rule support a new compound named Alchorneinol in the root bark extract. Itis therefore one of the active compounds responsible for the treatment of pain, particularly tooth ache, as purgative, stomach-ache and to treat tiredness after intoxication in Sierra Leone.
