6559 Background: RADAR is the only independent academic pharmacovigilance organization funded exclusively by peer-reviewed grants. We describe the role of high quality case reports in the detection of drug safety signals. Methods: RADAR has identified 11 cancer-related adverse drug reactions (ADRs). Initial reports for small numbers of cases were obtained from our own institution, NU, (4 ADRs) or from referral centers (7 ADRs). Clinicians at these centers voluntarily provided brief case reports to RADAR, who submitted detailed case reports to the FDA/manufacturer. Clinicians were promised that patient/provider data would be kept confidential and that these data would be submitted as peer-reviewed manuscripts. Results: See Table. Conclusions: RADAR was successful at signal generation and amplification because it focused on quality, not quantity of case reports. Pharmacovigilance efforts that allow clinicians to complete brief forms, maintain confidentiality of patient and provider, and result in submission of collaborative manuscripts may improve early detection of drug safety signals initiatives in oncology. [Table: see text] No significant financial relationships to disclose.

Background: The potential of digital technologies is far from being exhausted for patients. The regulatory framework becomes a brake on innovation due to digitalisation, but also due to the trend towards individualisation. Strategies, corporate culture and processes, which are necessary for the design of high-quality and cost-effective healthcare services, are still lacking in many healthcare providing organisations. Health Services 4.0 and patient integration as leverage: With Health Services 4.0 it is possible to improve the outcome of the individual healthcare service and meet the regulatory requirements. This requires the capabilities of the provider to dynamically balance exploitation and exploration. The challenges are to develop innovations in a continuously changing working environment and/or to adapt (medical) technical innovations into their own service processes. Conclusion: This article is focused on hypotheses of cause-and-effect analyses formulated as scenarios, related to the implementation of digital technologies in order to improve efficiency and effectiveness for a high medical expertise as well as for a higher level of service quality. The output is a more detailed analysis of key value drivers, success factors as well as internal and external value generators for the design of Health Services 4.0. Up to now many issues regarding the use of digital technologies are still only partly analysed and not yet proved for a more efficient care on high-quality level. The company's capacity for ambidexterity is becoming an important dynamic capability, with on one hand flexibility for new developments and on the other hand stability for hard factors in physical value chains and soft factors in value-oriented attitudes and behaviour based on empathy. Purpose: Providing high quality services is a basis for long-term competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises. Recognizing the success factors of transformation and strategic management is an issue that has been frequently addressed in the past two decades. The goal of this article is to evaluate the strategy of small and medium-sized enterprises offering services in tourism and catering. Methodology/Approach: The qualitative analysis was based on 107 completed interviews. Two hypotheses were formulated and an Independence Test was applied. Chi-square Test and Cross Table Analyiss were used which enable to examine the relationship between 2 non-metric variables. The two examined variables related to our Hypothesis 1 were ordinal, and 1 ordinal, 1 nominal in the case of Hypothesis 2. The significance level was p=0.05. Findings: The obtained results show weak relationship between the size of the business and the awareness of the strategy. No relationship can be detected between the size of the business and the evaluation of the key success factor Research Limitation/Implication: The research activity and obtaining research data from SMEs was obstacled by the pandemic situation caused by COVID-19. The research was limited by external circumstances, so the interviews with company representatives could be conducted on online platforms. Originality/Value of paper: The paper examines how successful the SMEs involved in the research are in communicating the values and goals of the company to their employees. It brings important findings in the field of stretegy management which leads to high quality services in the case of providers.

Software testing outsourcing is becoming attractive among organisations that desire to gain high quality products within reasonable cost while allowing testing experts to assure its quality. Despite these promising advantages however, organisations have yet to learn the factors that contribute to such projects’ success. The necessary planning and actions could not thus be taken towards the effort. Consequently, software testing outsourcing projects still fail. This study aimed to address this concern by collating the factors from previous research. The investigation continued by confirming the factors besides discovering other relevant factors from software testing practitioners. This study adopted qualitative approach where it employed semi-structured interviews involving five practitioners, who represented both client and vendor. The data were analysed using content analysis. The results show that there are two aspects to be considered, namely Process and People. The former contains nine factors and the latter comprises four factors. Each factor has specific elements, which delineates the characteristics or roles that it owns. The findings provide practitioners with understanding of conducting software testing outsourcing projects effectively.

The topic of this research are critical success factors (CSFs) with a focus on factors that constitute the basis for the success of insurance companies. There are no critical success factors common to all enterprises, all areas and all activities. In insurance companies, key performance indicators primarily depend on the service quality and the level of customer satisfaction. In contemporary business conditions, the relevance of the service has been increasingly important. Therefore, the concept named 5P is suggested, standing for purpose, pride, partnership, protection and personalization, as these five factors define the requirements that must be met, if the insurer’s service is to be perceived to be of high-quality, achieve client satisfaction and build client loyalty. The paper presents a research into the perception of insurance service and factors of insurance quality in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH). Research results correspond to the 5P concept and reveal the security factor as the most important factor for the insured. A fast and efficient payment of claims, the attitude of the salespeople toward the insured, described in terms of respectful and knowledgeable staff, as well as the clarity of promotion and the availability of insurance service also ranked high.

Abstract Increasing access to biomedical informatics experiences is a significant need as the field continues to face workforce challenges. Looking beyond traditional medical school and graduate school pathways into the field is crucial for expanding the number of individuals and increasing diversity in the field. This case report provides an overview of the development and initial implementation of the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) High School Scholars Program. Initiated in 2014, the program’s primary goal was to provide dissemination opportunities for high school students engaged in biomedical informatics research. We discuss success factors including strong cross-institutional, cross-organizational collaboration and the high quality of high school student submissions to the program. The challenges encountered, especially around working with minors and communicating program expectations clearly, are also discussed. Finally, we present the path forward for the continued evolution of the AMIA High School Scholars Program.

Examining the interrelationships between critical success factors (CSFs) is of importance for the successful development of PPP airports. Many studies are available for the identification of CSFs for infrastructure projects, but very limited research have been conducted so far on investigating the interrelationships between the CSFs of PPP airports. The study is based on the institutional theory, which considers the exploration of the relationships between different institutional factors. The results show that Process Characteristics have comparatively more impact on Public Characteristics and, similarly, Cooperative Environment has more impact on Process Characteristics. However, Process Characteristics have a less significant impact on Private Characteristics. The study also revealed that to achieve high-quality services and the protection of public interest under a PPP mechanism, proper government supervision is required. Moreover, customers’ satisfaction and their opinion are also responsible for the achievement of high-quality services and better value for money.

Abstract Background Within the framework of close-to-nature forestry, oak forest (Quercus robur, Q. petraea) regeneration techniques that consider both silvicultural and nature conservation demands have become a very important issue. While there are many experimental and local studies that aim at disentangling the relationships between different environmental and silvicultural factors and the success of oak regeneration, systematic supra-regional studies at the greater landscape level are missing so far. Against this background, the first objective (a) of this study was to present an efficient and sufficiently accurate sampling scheme for supra-regional forest regrowth inventories, which we applied to young oaks stands. The second, and major, objective (b) was to identify the crucial success factors for high-quality oak forest regeneration in northwest Germany. Results Objective (a): Factors that have been identified as potentially crucial for the success or failure of oak regeneration were either included in a field inventory procedure or extracted from forest inventory databases. We found that the collected data were suitable to be analyzed in a three-step success model, which was aimed at identifying the crucial success factors for high-quality oak forest regeneration. Objective (b): Our modeling procedure, which included a Bayesian estimation approach with spike-and-slab priors, revealed that competitive pressure from the secondary tree species was the most decisive success factor; no competition, or low competition by secondary tree species appeared to be particularly beneficial for the success of high-quality oak regeneration. Also fencing and the absence of competitive vegetation (weeds, grass, bracken) seemed to be beneficial factors for the success of oak regeneration. Conclusions Trusting in biological automation was found to be mostly useless regarding economically viable oak forest regeneration. To efficiently organize oak regeneration planning and silvicultural decision-making within a forest enterprise, it is strongly recommended to initially evaluate the annual financial and personnel capacities for carrying out young growth tending or pre-commercial thinning and only then to decide on the extent of regenerated oak stands. Careful and adaptive regeneration planning is also indispensable to secure the long-term ecological continuity in oak forests. Oak regeneration should therefore preferably take place within the close vicinity of old oak stands or directly in them. The retention of habitat trees is urgently advised.
