Converting brownfields into green spaces and recreation areas creates a significant community asset. To date, however, remediation efforts have focused mainly on utilizing brownfields as productive properties in order to lessen financial costs and risks. The use of environmental economics has proved beneficial in providing a clear answer in regard to the social value of derelict land redevelopment. Using an illustrative example, the paper demonstrates the use of an expert judgment technique, namely the Fuzzy Delphi Method, which is applied as an alternative to approaches commonly used for the valuation of urban green spaces.

ABSTRACTLibraries have an important role in the field of education, for research purposes, preservation of information resources and recreation areas. Libraries also have a role in increasing the intelligence and empowerment of the nation, as a human person who always wants to advance and the development of institutions that are increasingly experiencing intense competition. This study seeks to see the role of the library in improving the quality of elementary schools at SDIT Salsabila 2 Klaseman, both with regard to student achievement and the progress of the institution. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative, data collection is done by looking directly at the object of research (direct observation) interviews and documentation. The results of this study indicate that libraries have an important role in improving the quality of elementary schools such as the development of library facilities; there is a special room, a growing collection of books, modern service systems, air-conditioned room facilities, computers and LCD projectors are available and also supports children's achievements in winning several championships including in the PAI quiz competition and the MIPA OlympiadKeywords: Quality Improvement of Elementary Schools: The Role of Libraries

Background: Several features of the neighborhood built environment have been shown to promote leisure-time physical activity (PA) in the general population, but few studies have examined its impact on PA during pregnancy. Methods: Data were extracted from 8362 Nulliparous Pregnancy Outcomes Study: Monitoring Mothers-to-Be cohort participants (2010–2013). Residential address information was linked to 3 built environment characteristics: number of gyms and recreation areas within a 3-km radius of residence and census block level walkability. Self-reported leisure-time PA was measured in each trimester and dichotomized as meeting PA guidelines or not. Relative risks for cross-sectional associations between neighborhood characteristics and meeting PA guidelines were estimated using Poisson regression. Results: More gyms and recreation areas were each associated with a greater chance of meeting PA guidelines in models adjusted for sociodemographic characteristics and preexisting conditions. Associations were strongest in the third trimester where each doubling in counts of gyms and recreation areas was associated with 10% (95% confidence interval, 1.07–1.13) and 8% (95% confidence interval, 1.03–1.12), respectively, greater likelihood of meeting PA guidelines. Associations were similar though weaker for walkability. Conclusions: Results from a large, multisite cohort suggest that these built environment characteristics have similar PA-promoting benefits in pregnant women as seen in more general populations.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effective factors of people choosing outdoor recreation areas, which is belonging to local government in Elazıg Province Center, for feel comfortable in social, cultural and physiological aspects where they can evaluate their free time and benefit from different purposes according to different variables. The sample group of the study consisted of 232 persons, 106 male and 126 female, selected randomly using recreational areas of local governance in Elazıg province center. The data were obtained by participation preference factors for use of recreation area survey which consist 24 questions and 5 sub-dimensions that developed by Gümüs H. and Alay Özgül S. (2017) with face to face survey application method. The data obtained from the study were analyzed using the SPSS 22 packet program. The normality test has been done so that analyzes can be done correctly. According to this, Kruskal-wallis was used in multiple groups in the analysis of data which not normal distribution and Mann Whitney-u Test was applied to determine the group which the difference occurred. In the analysis of normal distribution data, anova in multiple groups and independent samples t test in binary groups were applied. Significance level was accepted as p<0.05. There was a statistically significant difference between participants who are married and have children, who perform sports 3-4 days a week and who state their health status as good and good and sport diversity, personnel and activity sub-dimensions of the scale (p<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference between the private vehicle ownership variable and participation preference for recreation areas scale (p>0, 05).It was determined that, for participants who married and with children, it is effective that there is playground for children in the recreational areas, the individuals who are good and very good health status are influenced by the sport diversity, activity and personnel situation in choosing these areas, private vehicle ownership is not that important for choosing these areas.

The organization of the subject-spatial environment is one of the necessary elements for the successful formation of the educational process, including in institutions of additional education. Currently, researchers pay attention to the importance of the subject-spatial component of the educational environment. To develop a comfortable, creative interior, it is necessary to develop a system for assessing the compliance of this component with modern design requirements. Within the framework of the article, a possible variant of universal criteria for evaluating recreation areas in leisure and educational institutions is proposed, the results of which reveal the existing contradictions and shortcomings, as well as provide a choice of a conceptual solution for subsequent project development.
