Now a days, toll plazas at the highways are operated manually, where a vehicle comes near the toll booth and toll collector collects the cash and enter the vehicle data and provides a receipt. Manually operated Toll Plaza Systems leads to longer waiting time of vehicles and heavy traffic at the highways. To overcome this issue of traffic congestion and time management and to bring automation in the toll management system, we have introduced an innovative, optimized and revolutionary system. This paper is putting forward an efficient and cost-effective technique of automatic toll collection. The system is based on the mobile GPS network and will use various APIs for development. The cost to be paid at the toll gate is auto decided as per the government limits and the toll booth charges. System will use online payment gateways to collect those revenues. If the balance is low in the user’s account then it can be recharged at the booth itself. At the user’s end, If the toll tax payment is delayed by certain timeline then user will be informed by an alert message and if delay still exists then strict actions will be imposed along with proper penalty charges for the same. This system is the novelty to the existing toll system. It will have a wide impact on people's life as its scope will lead to safe and enhanced productivity through the use of advanced technologies. This will also minimize fraud and will provide user convenience. It will also enhance the operational efficiency of toll collector.

Waste Management is one of the hectic and troublesome tasks which require much man power. The traditional waste management system is time consuming and not cost effective. In this scenario, we are designing an intelligent system for solid waste management using Internet of Things. Our proposed system consists of an intelligent smart bin and a mobile application. The smart bin consists of a unique identifier (RFID tag) and an ultra-sonic sensor to determine the waste level of the bin. The mobile application is intended for two user categories: Normal user and Garbage collector. The normal user can locate the nearby dustbins whereas the garbage collector can remotely assess the bin level. When the bin is full, an alert message is sent to the garbage collector and also displays the shortest route to the bin location. It uses genetic algorithm for finding the optimized path from the user to smart bin. The entire connected components and communication is managed by a central coordinator. Our implementation and evaluation results claims that this model can be used as an alternative for the traditional waste management system. This system also ensures cost effectiveness and less time consumption.

People travelling by vehicles to reach their desired destination find difficult to choose the safe route. A road may be damaged due to natural calamities and not be safe for vehicles. Those who are travelling long distances will not have enough knowledge regarding the safety of the road. An IoT device monitors road conditions and generate an alert message. The message is generated when water level reaches threshold level. Data analysis algorithm is employed to detect the safe route using previous conditions. The message is transmitted to a Road Side Unit (RSU) which then broadcasts it to a vehicle. The vehicle then sends the message to next nearest vehicle. This broadcasting happens until all vehicles within a range receives the message. Other Road Side Units helps in improving the signal strength of the message. RSU’s can also send message to vehicle if there is failure in Vehicle-Vehicle Communication. Protocol used for message broadcasting is Adhoc On-Demand Distance Vector Routing (AODV). It is slightly modified to improve efficiency and accuracy. Based on the alert message received vehicular nodes can take different path that is safe to reach the destination.

Typical fire monitoring and warning systems use a single smoke detector that is connected to a fire management system to give early warnings before the fire spreads out up to a damaging level. However, it is found that only smoke detector-based fire monitoring systems are not efficient and intelligent since they generate false warnings in case of a person is smoking, etc. There is need of a multi-sensor based intelligent and smart fire monitoring system that employs various parameters, such as presence of flame, temperature of the room, smoke, etc. To achieve such a smart solution, a multi-sensor solution is required that can intelligently use the data of sensors and generate true warnings for further fire control and management. This paper presents an intelligent Fire Monitoring and Warning System (FMWS) that is based on Fuzzy Logic to identify the true existence of dangerous fire and send alert to Fire Management System (FMS). This paper discusses design and application of a Fuzzy Logic Fire Monitoring and Warning System that also sends an alert message using Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM) technology. The system is based on tiny, low cost, and very small in size sensors to ensure that the solution is reproduceable. Simulation work is done in MATLAB ver. 7.1 (The MathWorks, Natick, MA, USA) and the results of the experiments are satisfactory.

To realize the maintenance management system in the near future, this paper presents a development of on-line computer maintenance system to manage and record the maintenance information in the database for the plastic injection machines by utilizing the computer networks via the wireless system. The on-line computer maintenance management system is friendly use and easy to check the equipment problems, the production wastes and the production efficiency via the mobile phones and also the computer networks. Whenever a malfunction happens, the alert message will be sent to the operator and the maintenance manager to respond it immediately. In addition, the developed energy management function by selecting the heater insulator and reducing the mold clamping pressure can help to calculate the energy consumption, the breakeven point and the payback period which have not been done in the computer maintenance management system. The developed program can automatically generate the next schedule of the preventive maintenance, which leads to the higher efficiency. The developed system is examined and implemented in the plastic injection machines, which have never been used the on-line computer maintenance management system. It has been proved that the proposed and developed system increases the overall equipment effectiveness about 6.42% and the mean time between failure of 37.17% while the mean time to repair decreases approximately 16.26%.

In our day to day life, we pay certain amount of tax through toll plaza to the government. The toll gates are mostly found on national highways and bridges etc., and we pay standing over a queue in the form of cash, although, the mobility of vehicles gets interrupted by this method which takes longer travel time, more consumption of fuel and also pollution level get increased in that region, instead of that the method commonly used by industries and in advanced countries is the Electronic Toll Collection System. Electronic toll collection system is the technology that enables the automatic electronic toll collection from the prepaid account registered on the name of vehicle owner, determining whether the vehicle is registered or not and informs the toll authorities avoiding toll violations. Over last decades, electronic toll collection system has been implemented in real time. Toll Tax Management System is a web based application that can provide all the information related to toll plazas and the passenger checks in either online and pays the amount, then he/she will be provided by a receipt. With this receipt he/she can leave the toll booth without waiting for any verification call. The aim of our project is to design a system, which automatically identifies an approaching vehicles and record vehicles number and time. If the vehicle belongs to the authorized person, it automatically opens the toll gate and a predetermined amount is automatically deducted from its account. This translates to reduced Traffic congestion at toll plazas and helps in lower fuel consumption. This is very important advantage of this system. In this paper, we can design system to extract the license numbers from vehicle plate automatically using image processing techniques. And match with database automatically and generate the bill without any delay.

The Study introduces a model of interactive traffic management system with a goal of controlling traffic flow, vehicle tracking, traffic control, law enforcement and automated toll collection. The intelligent transport system is one of the principal components of modern urbanization and the current systems are not automated and human error-related. To achieve these goals fifty vehicles seven days data have been analyzed through statistical tools. Data used for this study were collected from Prohori, Onnorokom Electronics Limited. All results was focused on only law enforcement and all analysis results was done using a data mining software named WEKA workbench. Several algorithms were used to find out gaps between engine on time and idle time, detect vehicle which violated rules and classify them for law enforcement and predict vehicle route for next day

Security is not the absence of danger but the presence of Technology. Vehicle robbery is trending upwards so, This proposed work aimed to design and develop a anti-theft system that involves Global Positioning System (GPS) and Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM) technology in order to provide vehicle security. At the implementation of this system, when the vehicle is found to be robbed, the client receives a alert message along with the current location of the vehicle. So as the client can interact with the system by sending a stop message in order to stop the vehicle. Our next objective is to provide automated toll collection system which intern aid to achieve efficacious time utilization and simultaneous prevents traffic caused due to long queue at toll plaza using Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology. There by theft vehicles can also be detected using the concept of online toll payment. According to the parking law in India if the rules are violated we observe Regional Transport Office(RTO) lifts and takes off illegally parked vehicles. In order to overcome this, have included the concept where client receives the alert message as well as the current location. Vehicle loses power while driving so the self powering system is included which is beneficial to run further application like AC, radio etc... using Piezo electric plates.
