Based on the manual transmission of a micro car, this paper would present the analysis of the factors affecting the transmission efficiency (TE) and the calculation formula of TE. Accordingly, the calculation model of Matlab/Simulink TE would be built to figure out how TE varies with input torque. Meanwhile, a set of manual transmission test bench would be designed and used to verify the theoretical simulation results. It adopts a common DC bus energy feedback closed system which can feedback the power generated by the load motor to the grid through the DC bus so as to save the electricity and produce less pollution. Therefore, while the test bench can reflect the variation trend of TE about the manual transmission truly, it is comparatively reliable. Apart from being energy-saving, its unique versatility could definitely predict its exceptional potential. The data of TE obtained from the test bench are compared with the simulation result. It showed that the TE of bench test and simulation result are similar, though companied by less than 2% error difference which is within the allowable range. Most importantly, the bench test results proved the validity of the theoretical analysis statistically, which is of great necessity and significance to the research of TE.

Through the analysis of factors affecting the efficiency of auto transmission system, the power loss models of all parts of the transmission system were established, and the formula of the transmission efficiency was obtained. On the basis of formulating the minicar transmission efficiency test standard, the transmission system was tested. Test results indicated that the transmission efficiency values which obtained theoretically by calculation were in reasonable agreement with experimental results, the relative errors were less than 6%,especially in commonly used input torque and input speed range. This model provides theory basis for the design and optimization of auto transmission system.

The article performed the processing of the results of a computer experiment to determine the cooling time of oil in a stopped oil pipeline. We proposed a calculation model in previous works that allows you to simulate the process of cooling oil. There was a need to verify the previously obtained results when conducting a laboratory experiment on a stand with soil. To conduct the experiment, it was necessary to conduct the planning of the experiment. The factors affecting the cooling time of oil in the oil pipeline, which will vary in the proposed experiment, are determined, empirical relationships are established. A regression analysis was carried out, and the dispersion homogeneity was checked using the Cochren criterion. The estimates of reproducibility variances are calculated. The adequacy hypothesis was tested using the Fisher criterion. Significant regression coefficients are established.

Abstract Due to the vast ocean area and limited human and material resources, hydrographic survey must be carried out in a selective and well-planned way. Therefore, scientific planning of hydrographic surveys to ensure the effectiveness of navigational charts has become an urgent issue to be addressed by the hydrographic office of each coastal state. In this study, a reasonable calculation model of hydrographic survey cycle is established, which can be used to make the plan of navigational chart updating. The paper takes 493 navigational charts of Chinese coastal ports and fairways as the research object, analyses the fundamental factors affecting the hydrographic survey cycle and gives them weights, proposes to use the BP neural network to construct the relationship between the cycle and the impact factors, and finally establishes a calculation model of the hydrographic survey cycle. It has been verified that the calculation cycle of the model is effective, and it can provide reference for hydrographic survey planning and chart updating, as well as suggestions for navigation safety.

This article summarises the development and experience of the Formula Student race car engine from 2018. According to the technical rules of Formula Student after the change in 2017, this engine adopts a new design concept, employs a 690-mL single-cylinder engine as the base, and applies ‘response enhancement technology’ with supercharging as the core to achieve a high-power output, a wide high-torque range and an excellent response capability. During the development, various studies on the dynamic performance of the vehicle and the engine were conducted, including vehicle dynamics analysis and track simulation, parameter matching of the supercharger and the engine, control strategy design, and the intake and exhaust system design. This research builds a supercharger air flow and efficiency test bench and an engine performance test bench. Test results show that the developed engine can output 122% of the original power and 120% of the original torque with a 20-mm diameter intake restrictor. Compared with previous generation race cars with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, the new race car‘s 0–100 km/h acceleration time is shortened by 0.2 s, the torque response time under typical condition is shortened by 80%, and the lap time of the integrated circuit is reduced by 7%.

Soil-cement column combined with geogrid on top or Geogrid Reinforced Pile Supported (GRPS), is used to construct structures on soft ground. Because of its high tensile capacity, the geogrid is spread on the top of the soil-cement column to form a soft transmission layer, increasing the capacity transferred to the columns, reducing a part of the load transmitted to the soft soil between the columns. The numerical analysis results of the GRPS with a high strength geogrid showed four major factors affecting transmission the efficacy of the column (Ef) and the tensile force of the geogrid including effective vertical load (v’); the ratio of the distance between the columns and the column’s diameter (s/D); the ratio of the elastic modulus of the soil-cement column to the deformation modulus of soil (Ec/Es); the tensile stiffness of the geogrid (J). The efficacy of the column (Ef) increases rapidly with an increase in effective vertical load (v’) from 0.23 to 0.44. In contrast, the transmission efficiency (Ef) decreases from 0.60 to 0.37 when s/D increased. When the ratio Ec/Es > 150 and J > 8000 kN/m, the tensile force of the geogrid tends not to change much.

A transmission efficiency calculation model of planetary geared reducer was proposed in this paper. The power losses of meshed surfaces of sun-planet gears and planet-ring gears were analyzed in detail. Finally, the mechanical power losses and transmission efficiency of the planetary gear reducer were simulated to illustrate the influence of rotational speed and torque on mechanical power loss and transmission efficiency.
