Abstract: The car's chassis is also called a structure that locates and mounts all the vehicle's components. It also creates a secure environment for the occupants. The chassis will provide torsional and flexural rigidity to the vehicle that makes the chassis one of the most crucial elements of the vehicle. Therefore, the front impact, rear impact, side impact, front torsional, rear torsional, vertical bending, lateral bending analyses were performed. The contribution of chassis is not limited to supporting the vehicle’s component, but it extends to providing better performance and aesthetics. Therefore, the design of the car chassis must be done accordingly. The current paper deals with the study of the design and analysis of the race car. The deformation, stress, and Factor of safety were considered as the evaluation parameters which were obtained by Finite Element Analysis (FEA) in Ansys software. The paper presents the process of 3D-printing and laminating a composite material driver’s seat for Silesian Greenpower’s electric vehicle. Silesian Greenpower is a student’s interfaculty project, of which aim is to design, build and race a small electric race car. Aerodynamics and lightweight construction play a major role, so each element applied in the car is optimized and customized to fit in the vehicle. For this purpose, 3D-printing technology is often used by the team. A seat model made on the basis of the driver's anthropometric model was presented in the paper. Subsequently, after the appropriate adaptation of the obtained surfaces to interconnect them with each other, the FDM technology was applied using PET-G material. To increase the strength of the connections of the printed elements and to strengthen the design and stability of the chair, the element was laminated using carbon fibre and epoxy resin. The lamination process is presented and discussed in the article.

Abstract Neuromorphic computing offers the opportunity to implement extremely low power artificial intelligence at the edge. Control applications, such as autonomous vehicles and robotics, are also of great interest for neuromorphic systems at the edge. It is not clear, however, what the best neuromorphic training approaches are for control applications at the edge. In this work, we implement and compare the performance of evolutionary optimization and imitation learning approaches on an autonomous race car control task using an edge neuromorphic implementation. We show that the evolutionary approaches tend to achieve better performing smaller network sizes that are well-suited to edge deployment, but they also take significantly longer to train. We also describe a workflow to allow for future algorithmic comparisons for neuromorphic hardware on control applications at the edge.

This article describes the power train design specifics in Formula student race vehicles used in the famed SAE India championship. To facilitate the physical validation of the design of the power train system of a formula student race car category vehicle engine of 610 cc displacement bike engine (KTM 390 model), a detailed design has been proposed with an approach of easing manufacturing and assembly along with full-scale prototype manufacturing. Many procedures must be followed while selecting a power train, such as engine displacement, fuel type, cooling type, throttle actuation, and creating the gear system to obtain the needed power and torque under various loading situations. Keeping the rules in mind, a well-suited engine was selected for the race track and transmission train was selected which gives the maximum performance. Based on the requirement, a power train was designed with all considerations we need to follow. Aside from torque and power, we designed an air intake with fuel efficiency in mind. Wireless sensors and cloud computing were used to monitor transmission characteristics such as transmission temperature management and vibration. The current study describes the design of an air intake manifold with a maximum restrictor diameter of 20 mm.

Objectives: This study examined sandplay therapy in an elementary school boy with tic problems. The goal of the therapy was to reduce his tic problems by offering a free and protected space of sandplay therapy.Methods: The sandboxes were analyzed focusing on analytical psychology and theories of sandplay therapy using Turner (2005)’s content themes, which were the most comprehensive themes.Results: Seventy-seven therapy sessions were performed. The client showed a race car that was stuck in the sand and then rescued by forklifts in the initial phase of therapy (1-2, a race car stuck in the sand). In the intermediate phase of the therapy (3-70, struggle), he showed regression, meeting the opposites, victory of small animals, construction, and death. In the final phase of therapy (71-77, race, death II, adaptation to reality), he showed race, death, and adaptation to reality.Conclusion: The client who was entering adolescence saw life as a race. However, the race car that was moving toward masculinity was stuck in the sand. Therefore, the car was sent for repairs. In the middle of the therapy, the boy showed various fights, accidents, and construction. Lastly, there were deaths of an alligator and a bear. By showing a football match, the long journey of developing ego ended. During the therapy, archetypal patterns, such as regression to the primitive psyche, the journey of masculinity as a boy, and confrontation between good and bad, appeared. Sandplay therapy, in a free and protected space, relieved the client’s tic problems with improvement of his daily life. Thus, this study demonstrates the effectiveness of sandplay therapy.

In recent times, the rise in performance and power of internal combustion engines has resulted in an increased demand for more efficient cooling systems. Customized engineered coolants, additives, radiator materials, redesigned coolant pumps and radiators help to meet these increased demands. In case of FSAE racecar, designing a radiator is an important part for controlling the engine operating temperature and increasing the effectiveness of the cooling system. In this work, an attempt is made to develop a simple yet reasonably accurate analytical model to calculate the effectiveness of a radiator. The model is then applied to predict the operating temperature of the engine at varying load conditions. Experimental investigations were performed using a customized radiator test rig to replicate the field test conditions. The rate of heat dissipation through the radiator with respect to the inlet temperature is analyzed by changing the surface area of the radiator. The developed model is able to predict the engine operating temperature in close agreement with the experimentation conducted. A marginal increase in surface area of the radiator resulted in significant drop in engine operating temperature. Thereby reduction in engine operating temperature will boost the performance of FSAE race car.

Abstract The purpose of carrying out the present work is to design, manufacture & test the progressive springs on an FS vehicle. This is one type of helical spring with a variable spring rate. The main purpose of designing progressive springs is to avail all the advantages of the variable spring rate over the linear spring rate and better ride quality along with roll control, compared to linear rate springs. We took several factors of vehicle dynamics under consideration before settling on progressive springs. Before starting with the design procedure, we had set objectives and followed the standard methodology of spring design to get the required output. Along with that, we took design philosophy under consideration. We reviewed all the parameters before finalizing the spring material as it is one of the major factors. We carried out all the necessary design calculations to complete the dimensions and stiffness of the spring. The conclusion helped us to achieve better ride quality and roll control accompanying the optimized spring design satisfying all the necessities such as load, stiffness, and deflection of progressive springs.
