Abstract Until recently, throughout the world, linguistic theory was virtually absent in secondary education, mostly limited to grammar teaching still based on 19th century linguistic theory. There is a growing call, however, for enriching grammar teaching with modern linguistic insights, integrating higher order critical thinking skills, like reasoning. This study tries to lay the groundwork for a model of linguistic reasoning in particular. Based on a well-established model for historical reasoning (Van Boxtel & Van Drie, 2018), a linguistic model is developed in two steps. First, the components of the historical model are theoretically analysed and transposed to the linguistic domain, and second, the model is applied in qualitative analysis of linguistic experts’ reasoning. It is found that the model fits linguistic reasoning fairy well: all central components can be observed, and are evenly distributed over different experts. It is concluded that the linguistic reasoning model can be used in the development of a new grammar pedagogy.

During the Covid-19 pandemic that swept the world including Indonesia, and to improve students' critical thinking skills, it is necessary to have supporting media in the learning process as an edutainment website. This study intends to determine the validity of the edutainment website developed in physics lessons to improve student's critical thinking skills. The research method used is development research with the DDD-E model. This research was only limited to media development, and no practicality and effectiveness tests were carried out. In this study, the validity data were obtained from the results of validation by expert and were analyzed by descriptive quantitative using the category of Likert scale percentage. If the percentage of each aspect is ≥ 61%, then the edutainment website developed can be declared valid. The results of this study are the percentage of validity in the learning aspect of 90.30%, the material aspect of 90.56%, the media aspect of 88.65%, and the critical thinking aspect of 84.70%. Based on this, it can be concluded that the edutainment website is very valid so that it can be used as a physics learning media to improve students' critical thinking skills. The edutainment website can be an alternative learning media by utilizing information technology and hopefully in further research, it can apply edutainment website and perform practicality and effectiveness tests for learning both in class and distance learning

Corruption is a problem and is a big challenge faced by the people of Indonesia and the world. Corruption has been around for a long time since humans have known administrative governance. Corruption is often related to problems or political policies in the government environment. Corruption is included as criminal behavior, corruption is not just stealing, but there is an element of abuse of authority or power in it, it gives moral content to corruption. Corruption does not only affect one aspect of life but also has a domino effect on other aspects of life. One of the best ways to break the chain of corruption in this country is by providing anti-corruption education to the next generation of its people. Because the next generation of the nation will be the generation that replaces the old state officials, to build a beloved country so that it can triumph in the eyes of the world. This young generation is the key to the success of the country's development which must avoid corruption. So, it is easier for us to educate and influence the younger generation so that they do not commit criminal acts of corruption before they are first influenced by the "culture" of corruption from their predecessor generation. Students are supported by the basic competencies they have, namely: intelligence, creative ideas, critical thinking skills, and the courage to express the truth. With their competence, students are expected to be able to become agents of change for themselves, their families, and the surrounding community, they are able to voice people's interests, are able to criticize corrupt policies, and are able to become supervisors of state institutions and law enforcement.

The article is devoted to the consideration of extraterritorial publications on the Chuvash theme. The purpose of the work is to identify the essential features of the foreign layer of the Chuvash book. The conclusions of the work are based on a quantitative and qualitative analysis of bibliographic indexes and a direct study of the books themselves de visu. The authors of the article consider foreign books as an important component of modern Chuvash culture, endowed with communicative, cognitive-cumulative, ethno-presentative and educational functions. Extraterritorial editions of the Chuvash book appeared in the first half of the 19th century, and only by the end of the 20th century they formed an independent layer. At the same time, one should objectively speak of two exteriorics – the Chuvash and by the poet G. Aygi. Each of them is represented by almost 150 publications. The predominant problematic of the foreign language layer of the Chuvash book proper is the Chuvash language. Moreover, its notable aspect is the publication of books in the Chuvash language or their publication with parallel texts in Sweden and Turkey. G. Aygi’s foreign publications are already represented by collections of poems in Russian, published by the publishing house of the artist N. Dronnikov in France. This work is a publication that should provide an introduction to the scientific use of literature that has not yet become the property of the Chuvash Studies. Its task is to promote the full functioning of modern Chuvash science in conjunction with the world one. The authors come to the conclusion that, in general, the foreign layer of the Chuvash book has an enduring value, and many of the scientific publications published in the past are rightly elevated to the rank of classical ones by the scientists.

Objective – To explore student thought on both reflection and reflective writing as a process, and to analyze the writing by the application of clearly defined and identifiable outcomes. Design – Mixed method approach consisting of a qualitative analysis of 116 written reflections from master’s level students as well as a quantitative statistical analysis. Setting –The University of Sheffield masters-level librarianship program’s course INF6005, “Management for LIS.” Subjects – Of the 31 students registered the course during the 2007-2008 academic year, 22 (71%), allowed their reflections to be used for the purposes of research. Of these, 7 students identified themselves as male, and 15 were female. All students included were over 21 years of age and had previous library experience, with varying degrees of management experience in supervisory roles. Not all supervisory experience was gathered within the library domain. Methods –A total of 116 reflective journal entries were submitted by the participating students during the eight month period from October 2008 to May 2009. In order to identify themes, qualitative analysis was applied to the reflective writing responses. Descriptive statistics were also applied to test the hypothesis, illustrate the relationships between reflective writing and outcomes, and locate identifiable outcomes. Main Results – Practising reflection demonstrated benefits for individuals and groups both in and outside of the workplace. On the whole, individuals gained the most from reflection and saw it in the most positive light when it was practised as a daily activity. Quantitatively, when students began to master the practice of reflection, they demonstrated an increase in their ability to learn and an overall improvement of self-development and critical thinking skills, and gained a defined awareness of personal mental function. When decision making became easier, students understood they had begun to master the art of reflective practice and analytical reflective writing. Qualitatively, when the students’ reflections were assessed, ten different themes emerged: (1) Nature of reflection (2) Reflection seen as useful in providing support for a career and professional development (3) Reflective writing – benefits (4) Reflective writing – potential in future employment and workplace (5) Encouraging others to use reflective practice (6) Reflecting positively (7) Reflection applicable to both individuals and groups (8) Reflection in support of personal awareness (9) Exploration of different methods of reflection (10) Difficulties in focusing enough to be able to reflect deeply Conclusion – Reflection is a skill that can be practised and developed. Initially, not all students enrolled in the class and participating in the study knew what reflective writing was or what it entailed. Students were given support to educate them in this area. Support included academic reading, lectures, reflective writing workshops and an overall opportunity to develop their skills further. Reflective writing was demonstrated to have a very positive relationship with several key outcomes. The areas impacted include academic learning, self-development, and critical review, with key outcomes including an increased awareness of personal mental function and increased support for decision making, as well as empowerment and emancipation. The clearest benefit was represented when students wrote about their analytical reflections.

In this article, I provide ideas for relating HIV topics to psychology content. Instructors can integrate HIV into the psychology curriculum in 3 related ways: (a) by using research findings as examples for course content already being covered, (b) by exploring diversity issues raised by HIV's presence in the world, and (c) by exercising students' critical thinking skills; for example, by asking them to apply HIV prevention research to their lives. Research reviewed in this article updates instructors with relevant information for curricular infusion.
