Nigerian Pidgin is a popular informal communicative code in Nigerian social, economic and political experience. It is sometimes spoken in formal situations in the hospital setting when participants find it pragmatically convenient. Despite its communicative significance, little research has been carried out on the use of Pidgin in conversational interactions in Nigerian hospitals, a gap this study fills by investigating how Pidgin is used in constructing emotions relating to social and medical conditions in hospitals. Seventy five (75) interactions between doctors and clients in Nigerian Pidgin were sampled; the data analysis was based centrally on relevance theory. Nigerian Pidgin evokes negative and positive emotions. Negative emotions manifest as pain and fear, while positive emotions appear as excitement and relief. Doctors and clients gain access to each other’s intentions through their shared knowledge of Pidgin, their co-construction of ailments, and their contextually based local interactional resources. They thus negotiate emotions as cue-dependent variables that are steered with the help of cognitive processes.

Kata kunci: wacana, iklan komersial, koherensi, struktur iklan, struktur retorikaABSTRACTJapan is a country with top three telecommunication brand companies in theworld, one of them is Softbank. Sells and Gonzalez (from Astuti, 2005:3)declare that ads have a bit linguistic deviation that affecting the unity of meaning(coherence). The aim of this research is to identify the coherence markers, coherencerelations and coherence factors of SoftBank’s commercial adverting discourse (CAD)analyzed based on advertising theory from Bolen (1984) and rhetorical structure theoryfrom Mann and Thompson (1988) and Ramlan (1984). The writers use descriptivemethod in this research. The results of data analysis, it is identified that coherencemarkers like continuation are often used, for example “therefore”.Then, the twelve CADshave three kinds of coherence relations that often come in the CAD, such as elaboration, background, and sequence. The factor of the coherence is a sharing a knowledge fromadvertiser to consumer, so that consumer can be informed and want to know more aboutthe content of the ads. Keywords: discourse, commercial ads, coherence, ad’s structure, rhetorical structure

Prisoners and their supporters often refer to the experience as a “prison university.” Time in prison among people of the same movement gave prisoners the opportunity to learn and to develop politically. Prisoners who might never have met outside grew together as they studied and shared knowledge. Disparities of knowledge and political experience made communal education possible. Everything from mathematics to foreign languages to the basics of ideology brought prisoners together in a common activity. Prisoners on Robben Island used the management of sports to hone their administrative abilities. IRA men in Long Kesh developed new approaches to the fight against British rule in Northern Ireland.

Knowledge revision is the process of updating incorrect prior knowledge in light of new, correct information. Although theoretical and empirical knowledge has advanced regarding the cognitive processes involved in revision, less is known about the role of emotions, which have shown inconsistent relations with key revision processes. The present study examined the effects of experimentally induced emotions on online and offline knowledge revision of vaccination misconceptions. Before reading refutation and non-refutation texts, 96 individuals received either a positive, negative, or no emotion induction. Findings showed that negative emotions, more than positive emotions, resulted in enhanced knowledge revision as indicated by greater ease of integrating correct information during reading and higher comprehension test scores after reading. Findings are discussed with respect to contemporary frameworks of knowledge revision and emotion in reading comprehension and implications for educational practice.

The management of writing a scientific papers we already know has important chapters in the writing. And have a way of choosing in a variety of methods. There are problems in this study, namely the absence of the use of research methods in scientific-rich management. Then one of them is needed by multivariate data analysis management to become one of the methods in writing scientific papers. Multivariate data is data collected from two or more observations by measuring these observations with several characteristics. There are 2 (two) methods in multivariate data, namely dependency and interdependence methods. Dependency analysis functions to explain or predict dependent variables by using two or more independent variables. Focused on the dependency method there are 9 (nine) classifications. It is expected that the multivariate data analysis management can help writers to use scientific research methods well and be able to analyze the influence of several variables on other variables at the same time

This study aims to test and describe Tax Avoidance which is influenced by the Audit Committee, Return On Assets (ROA), and Leverage. This study uses two variables, namely the independent and dependent variables, and the source of data in this study in the form of financial statements of mining sector manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) in 2015-2017. Data analysis was performed by classical assumption test and hypothesis testing in this study using multiple linear regression methods. The results of this study indicate that partially the Audit Committee and Leverage variables have a significant effect on tax avoidance, while the Return on Assets (ROA) does not affect tax avoidance.

The Human Development Index (HDI) is an index to measure human achievement and is one of the indicators used in looking at people's well-being in a region. The higher the HDI value in a region, the better the level of welfare in the region. So often HDI is considered to have been able to represent the welfare level of the population, because in the HDI includes elements that include economic and noneconomic variables. Non-economic variables are measured from the level of public education and the degree of public health. While economic variables are measured from income levels indicating people's purchasing power, the three are related to each other. However, if you look at the conditions in Jambi Province, there is an interesting phenomenon where the development of the government does not or lack a real impact on the improvement of the Human Development Index (HDI), so it is necessary to do this research. The purpose of this study is to analyze the inequality, influence and relationship of the variables of the human development index which includes Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) per capita, the number of medical personnel, the number of basic health facilities, the number of poor people as well as the number of teachers in public elementary schools as dependent variables with the human development index (HDI) as dependent variables. The data analysis method used in this study is a qualitative and qualitative descriptive method of explanatory properties, using sekuder data in the period 2008-2017. The data analysis tool used in this study uses the usual Weighted Coefficient of Variation (CVw) method for the first problem, the subsequent regression of the data panel for the second problem and the person correlation for the third problem. The hypothesis test in this study shows that there is inequality in IPM-forming variables in Jambi Province, further influence and significant relationship between ipm-forming variable inequality and HDI in Jambi Province.
