Abstract This paper aims to present one of the most relevant linguistic phenomena of spoken Spanish on both sides of the Atlantic. The singular/plural forms of the verb haber with existential meaning have received considerable attention due to the fact that it is a linguistic variable that changes according to the variety of Spanish that is used. We report the findings from the research carried out within three speech communities: Valencia, Las Palmas and Mexico City, analysing the internal and external factors that may explain this linguistic variation. For this study we have selected these communities because all the data have been obtained according to the guidelines proposed in the PRESEEA (Project for the Sociolinguistic Study of Spanish from Spain and from America). The results are the product of rigorous statistical analysis and allow us to illustrate the processes of convergence or divergence.

The objectives of this work are to present a workflow model; three tests and two questionnaires for diagnosis; statistical methodologies for the analysis of the data obtained, as well as the preliminary results of the model and the questionnaires. The methodology consists of the coordination between teachers in the role of tutor and the application to students under their responsibility to subsequently perform a statistical analysis of the data and based on this, develop an intervention work plan at the individual and collective level. The fundamental contribution of this work is to objectively seek to support students in their academic development. Among the responsibilities and activities that a teacher has in universities is to be a tutor of a group of the academic program to which he belongs. Students under responsibility have a series of situations that influence or assume that they influence their academic performance. One as a tutor can ask if the learning units of the subjects, they take support this performance, if there are internal and external factors, as well as risk situations that affect it. The purpose of this study was to analyze the dividend performance of eight UAE based banks between the years 2001 and 2005. The analysis was undertaken by examining three sets of financial ratios that are routinely used to measure bank dividend performance. The main ratios that were employed put a particular focus on the banks’ ability to pay dividends in relation to market value of its share, earnings and ability to cover the payments. Descriptive statistical analysis was used to rank the performance, measuring the dispersion and the stability-variability of the indicators. Conclusions were then drawn from the computation of the descriptive analysis of ratios that allowed the author to make an effective comparison of said banks. This type of analysis was used to summarize the performance of each bank based on three criteria, mean, standard deviation and coefficient of variation of each banks performance. The findings showed that eight banks performed reasonably well during the period studied, but have different strategies in paying their dividends across the years under study. The analysis reveals that these banks have been affected by both internal and external factors.

This essay analyzes the political motivations behind the Jewish Nation-State Bill introduced in the Knesset in November 2014, shedding light on the ascendancy of the Israeli political establishment's radical right wing. It argues that there were both internal and external factors at work and that it is only by examining these thoroughly that the magnitude of the racist agenda currently being promoted can be grasped. The essay also discusses the proposed legislation's long history and the implications of this effort to constitutionalize what amounts to majoritarian despotism in present-day Israel.
