Choice often produces conflict. This notion, however, plays no role in classical decision theory, in which each alternative is assigned a value, and the decision maker selects from every choice set the option with the highest value. We contrast this principle of value maximization with the hypothesis that the option to delay choice or seek new alternatives is more likely to be selected when conflict is high than when it is low. This hypothesis is supported by several studies showing that the tendency to defer decision, search for new alternatives, or choose the default option can be increased when the offered set is enlarged or improved, contrary to the principle of value maximization.

The article deals with the problem of students (future teachers) health. To solve the problem of preserving and strengthening the health of university students, the authors propose a group of methods for the formation of healthy lifestyle (HLS) culture through the mastering the educational discipline of the pedagogical cycle. In the formation of a student`s healthy lifestyle culture the main components are distinguished: cognitive-semantic, emotional-volitional, reflexive-evaluative. The assessment of the levels of healthy lifestyle formation among university students is proposed. Within the framework of the discipline “Pedagogy” in its first module “Introduction to the teaching profession” a developed program “Health as a value” was proposed to second-year students of the Kaluga State University named after K.E. Tsiolkovsky. This program was implemented in the experimental group.

This research is a qualitative descriptive study that aims to reveal the determinants of student self-motivation at the University of Riau. Self motivation of students is a very important element in the implementation of curriculum-based blended learning in the industrial era 4.0. The data collection technique used a questionnaire and distributed using google forms to all students in each faculty who were selected to become a sample area with a total of 515 students. The results show that the aspect has the drive to achieve something, the score is 4.21 or 84.12% with the good category, the commitment aspect gets a value of 4.34 or 86.70% with the good category, the initiative aspect gets a value of 3.87 or 77.50% with sufficient category and optimistic aspect obtained a value of 4.15 or 83% and an average value of 4.14 or 82.85% with a good category. If seen from the 10 indicators as a determining factor for Self-motivation of Riau University students, all of them can determine the level of achievement of the Self-motivation . Sequentially, the determining factors from the highest to the lowest are the need for lectures, self-introspection, fulfilling class assignments, confidence in abilities, complacency / not giving up easily, enthusiasm for attending lectures. Orientation to success, likes to work on case studies, self-confidence and control times to study.

Abstract Research background: The paper focuses on value co-creation and co-destruction during online consumption. The current understanding of the concept of value is based on the premise that value emerges from interactions leading to exchange among multiple actors, including customers and companies. This implies the active role of all participants and leads to diversified outcomes, both positive (value co-creation) and negative (value co-destruction). The phenomenon of value co-destruction is studied in the context of online consumption, which is particularly suitable as it allows for consumer proactivity and participation in the process of exchange. Purpose: The first purpose of the study is the conceptualization and operationalization of value co-creation and co-destruction. The second aim is to estimate the frequency of activities that can be conceptualized as various dimensions of online value co-creation/co-destruction. Research methodology: The empirical part presents the results of an exploratory study based on a survey (PAPI) conducted on a sample of 212 university students. Results: The main findings suggest that although young people regularly practice online consumption, they tend to behave in a rather passive manner and their value co-creation/co-destruction behaviours are limited to mostly price and promotion related activities. Novelty: Value co-destruction is a recent and understudied phenomenon. This paper proposes a conceptualization and operationalization of a value co-destruction concept.

An investigation of the relationship between values and moral judgement was conducted using 124 Australian university students. Participants completed a Value Survey and the Defining Issues Test in sessions one week apart. Data were analysed by computing correlations and multiple regression of ratings for individual values and Value Type scores with Stage Scores and summary scores of moral reasoning. Analysis confirmed only some of the predicted relationships between values and the moral reasoning measure and indicated some that had not been predicted. Theoretical and psychometric factors contributing to these results are discussed, and the importance of identifying the conceptual bases of measures used in moral behaviour research is noted.

Natural Brucite (Mg(OH)2) decomposes on heating to form magnesium oxide (MgO) having its cubic ﹛110﹜ and ﹛111﹜ planes respectively parallel to the prism and basal planes of the hexagonal brucite lattice. Although the crystal-lographic relation between the parent brucite crystal and the resulting mag-nesium oxide crystallites is well known, the exact mechanism by which the reaction proceeds is still a matter of controversy. Goodman described the decomposition as an initial shrinkage in the brucite basal plane allowing magnesium ions to shift their original sites to the required magnesium oxide positions followed by a collapse of the planes along the original <0001> direction of the brucite crystal. He noted that the (110) diffraction spots of brucite immediately shifted to the positions required for the (220) reflections of magnesium oxide. Gordon observed separate diffraction spots for the (110) brucite and (220) magnesium oxide planes. The positions of the (110) and (100) brucite never changed but only diminished in intensity while the (220) planes of magnesium shifted from a value larger than the listed ASTM d spacing to the predicted value as the decomposition progressed.
