Many questions have aroused in terms of media and technology used and its implication for language teaching and learning. The focus is on how students can be critically aware of media, especially digital media, for their learning. Thus, the use of media in education impacts educational creativity development, such as digital technology applications. In terms of learning, digital literacy is the competency in understanding and using digital technologies effectively for learning. Research has already explored the need for digital literacy in the classroom. This recent paper tries to figure out how digital literacy is implemented in the teaching of ESP students. Furthermore, the method used to describe the idea of this paper is a conceptual paper in which the writer tries to figure out how digital learning is implemented for learning. The writer used literature review from some journal articles and books written by the experts to gather the data. In conclusion, applying digital literacy must be well prepared on the way how it is used. It must relate to their competence, learning objectives, and language skills being taught. Indeed, once the students are familiar with the technology being used, they significantly improve their skills.

The lecture method is one of the methods that are often used by teachers in teaching and learning activities. This method is a method that is easy to implement and also cheap, because without the media and infrastructure it can be done. Some people underestimate this method and some even argue that it is outdated and left behind. According to the author's observations, this method remains relevant in any situation and condition, especially if a teacher is someone who is proficient in communicating and understanding the psychological condition and level of ability of the students he or she faces. The point is khootibunnaasa 'alaa qodri uqulihim (speak to humans according to their level of knowledge). The writing of this article uses the library research method, namely by digging and reviewing the literature that is related to the theme of writing this article. The results of the study and the author's study related to this lecture learning method are still very relevant and effective, especially during this covid-19 pandemic. By taking into account the following points; first, a teacher understands the science of communication well, second, understands the psychological condition of the audience/students, third, is able to touch students' emotions, fourth, includes elements of humor and is good at telling stories, fifth, is able to use social media and technology well.

Problems in today’s learning includes the low competence of teachers in the use of media for teaching and learning. Among the weaknesses of teachers is the lack of the ability in using the media in learning fiqih mawaris. Many teachers still use conventional media such as markers, board and paper. This affects on the low level of students’ ability on the subject of fiqih mawaris. This study aims to understand the competence of teachers in teaching and learning fiqih mawaris through the collaboration of conventional media and digital media (the application of At-Tashil) at the training center of Balai Diklat Keagamaan (BDK) Aceh. This study adopts qualitative approaches. Data were collected through interviews, the study of documents and observations, while collected data were analyzed through data reduction, presentation of data and the withdrawal of conclusion. The results show that teachers’ competence on subjects of the fiqih mawaris was improved through the process of collaboration between conventional media and modern media of At-Tashil application.

Responding to the conflicting public perspectives about pedagogical approaches to, and purposes for, language teaching and learning, the authors suggest ways to reconceptualize foreign language (FL) teaching and learning as a springboard toward multicultural citizenship and social justice. The authors propose an approach to FL teaching that aims to develop learners’ information, media, and technology literacies as well as life and career skills, which are vital to succeed in a 21st-century global environment, and to empower them to become engaged citizens and agents of social change in their communities. By reframing FL and culture instruction within a social justice perspective, we devise new and creative ways to make the teaching of FL relevant to collegiate education and at the core of the university mission.

We are immersed in a culture of spoken media, written media, and now irrevocably, digital screen media. Just as writing and speaking skills are keys to functioning in society, we must consider that the world increasingly demands proficiency in “mediating” as well. Doing anything less leaves this powerful medium in the hands of a relative few. By offering instruction in what digital screen media is, how it is effectively created, how the Internet continues to alter communication, and how this all informs everyday teaching and learning, digital media literacy can become more broadly understood and accessible. This chapter follows a program developed by the Rosebud Institute and looks at how—using simple, accessible technology—people can become more digital media literate by creating screen products themselves. The creation process also enables deeper, more authentic learning, allowing us all to communicate more effectively, to self-assess more reflectively, and to thrive in a screen-based world.

In this chapter, the authors focus their attention on the case studies of three beginning teachers and their use of digital storytelling in their preservice education English Language Arts classes. They undertook this research to determine if preservice teachers who are exposed to new literacies and a multiliteracies pedagogy will use them in transformative ways. The authors examine their subsequent and transformed use of digital media with their own students in the classroom setting. One uses a digital story to reflect on past injustices. Another finds new spaces for expression in digital literacy. A third uses the affordances of digital media to raise critical awareness of a present global injustice with secondary school students. The authors explore their shifting perceptions of multiple literacies and critical media literacy and how these shifts in thinking help shape or transform their ideas about teaching and learning in English Language Arts.

When an instructor is able to identify, develop and apply appropriate digital media content that motivates learners and encourages them to learn, the process of learning is empowered. This study has identified multimedia digital content packaged in the format of video as the most preferred learning media by the learners. Content formats that had highest hit rate with accessed mean rate above 300 (discussion forums, video clips, and graphics) are discussed. The study revealed that learning becomes interactive and effective when a video is presented in the style of hypermedia. Learners' perceptions rating indicated that learners perceived the video format as satisfactory, helpful in knowledge retention, motivational and an enhancement of learning. Available online authoring tools and supportive open content sites are identified and educators are encouraged to develop digital content in video format and disseminate them for teaching and learning.

Research into the opportunities offered by electronic media, as regards finding and acquiring knowledge, together with the development of new teaching and learning methods for the field of art and culture is the focus of the work being carried out by the Media Arts Research Studies (MARS) research group at the Fraunhofer Institute for Media Communication. This chapter illustrates the requirements on electronic and digital media concepts in the context of e-learning, using the very latest developments and experience in this sector as examples. In the broadest sense, the aim is to visualise information and create networked “knowledge spaces” which are accessible to users as new forms of teaching and learning through play. Experimental methods, tools and interfaces that support communication between the digital and physical spaces and investigate new forms of knowledge retrieval are being developed and tested.

PC-based data acquisition systems are used in a wide variety of applications. In laboratories, in field services and in manufacturing facilities, these systems act as general-purpose measurement and control tools well suited for measuring voltage signals. Teaching and learning experiences may be enhanced by integrating new-technologies in the engineering curriculum, particularly in experimental-type courses. By installing plug-in data acquisition boards and signal-conditioning hardware, and appropriate software, the general-purpose computers become enormously flexible virtual-instruments with data acquisition and analysis capability. This paper describes a Computer-Aided Testing System which uses a commercially available A/D board to offer users a wide array of measurement and control capabilities. It can be used for making repeated high speed measurement, controlling motors or teaching data acquisition.

Teaching and learning nowadays is different from past. Together with their environment where the students can easily have connected to internet and digital media make them ease to be technology savvy. Thus, flipped classroom become the option to the lecturer to change methods of teaching. However, there are lacked discussions in innovating teaching approach particularly in marketing. Hence, the objectives of this study to examine factors influencing the usage of flipped classroom and which factors contribute most to the usage of flipped classroom. The sampling of the data used is sample random sampling. The researcher will have used the structured questionnaire and divided into five sections including the demographic section. The study will analyze normality test, data cleaning, reliability test, descriptive and frequency analysis, Pearson correlation and Multiple Regression to test the hypothesis. Apparently, the expected result will be used to recommend in order having better understanding in student’s learning particularly in using technology.
