From its inception in the early 1960s, English for Specific Purposes (ESP) has grown to become one of the most prominent areas of EFL teaching. ESP is usually concerned with the teaching of English used in academic studies and/or professional activities, especially the teaching of English related with Business/Economics, Tourism, Medicine, and Engineering. As the number of courses and students has grown considerably the original team teaching methodology is being substituted by a more autonomous approach in which both ESP instructors and students have to acquire knowledge of the basic concepts of the field by themselves, as well as upgrade their discourse competence. This new approach lends support to recent developments in the field of learner’s autonomy, especially those based on Internet (for example, Moodle) that are being promoted in this era of shortages and lack of resources. Within this framework, this article offers a review of the state of art regarding ESP, formulates a reconceptualization of the concept with the aim of making room to two recent developments: the consolidation of English as lingua franca; and the possibilities offered by the Internet for teaching and learning. It also enumerates the main basic requirements of pedagogically-oriented specialised dictionaries and illustrates some of their potentialities for assisting users in a reading situation. The article finishes by summarising the main conclusions drawn.

the effective learning is the learning that can stimulate the enthusiasm and enjoyment of students follow the learning process. However, the obstacle of that, there are no many Islamic religious education teachers who are skilled in preparing and implementing lessons that are able to arouse the enthusiasm of their students and the lack of attention from school principals on the development of PAI learning in schools, including the availability of inadequate facilities and infrastructure. Therefore, teachers must be creative in designing learning activities, one of which is using appropriate learning strategies. The learning strategy that can create active and creative learning is the PAIKEM strategy. PAIKEM is a teaching and learning strategy that contains six important elements, that are learning, active, innovative, creative, effective and fun. The six elements have different characteristics and interpretations and must be integrated by the teacher who will apply them. The supporting factors of PAIKEM implementation include infrastructure, the ability of teachers to implement PAIKEM, and the readiness of students to receive the lessons. The inhibiting factors in implementing PAIKEM include the number of students, time allocation, and schedule changes.

The population of this research is the fifth-grade students of SD Negeri 1 Kaobula which consists of 24 students. Based on the results of the study, it is concluded that the influence between the X variable (classroom action management) and the Y variable (Civics learning outcomes) has a strong influence between the two variables. If we look at the amount of oxy obtained, namely: 0, 620 it turns out to be between 0.40. 0.60. It can be stated that the correlation between variable X and variable Y is a relatively strong influence. Thus, the authors can simply give an interpretation of the oxy, namely that there is a significant positive effect between variable X and variable Y.

Teacher creativity to create a fun teaching and learning atmosphere plays an important role in developing the potential of students. For example, teachers can develop an effective learning media to engage students in meaningful learning. However, few teachers can develop learning media as is the case in MIN 4 Jember. From the preliminary study, they found it difficult to develop an effective instructional media which caused student learning outcomes low. Thus, this study aims to develop an effective pop-up book based media to improve the learning outcomes of natural event themes of students in class I of MIN 4 Jember. The present research employs the development study by modifying the Brog and Gall development model. The model consists of several stages, namely: finding a problem; collecting data; design / product development; design / product validation; design / product revision; and trial use. The final product of this research is in the form of pop-up book based media developed from two aspects, material aspects and media aspects. The results of the validity trials obtained from experts on learning materials were 88% and experts on learning media were 82% with valid qualifications. The t-related test results also showed a significant difference between the acquisition of the learning outcomes of the control class and the experimental class that was 25%. It can be concluded that this pop-up book based media is appropriate for use in learning and is effective in improving the first grader students learning outcomes of natural event theme of MIN 4 Jember.
