In this study, the effect of core training on some motor features of universıty footballers has been examined. 36 footballers both studying at Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University in Muğla, Turkey and playing in amateur leagues participated in the study. 18 university footballers of Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Sports Club who play in Muğla Super Amateur League formed the experimental group (EG) (Age X = 21.4 ± 2.12 years, Height X = 174.3 ± 6.84 cm and Weight X = 75.9 ± 8,43 kg ). 18 footballers with amateur licences who play in the Faculty of Economics and Adiministrative Sciences, train regularly and play in the university faculty matches formed the control group (CG) (Age X = 21,6 ± 2.56 years, Height X = 176.7 ± 7.13 cm and Weight X = 76.3 ± 8.43 kg). The required permissions were obtained and the students filled in the “Admission Consent Forms” before the applications. The trainings were done in the football field of Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University and the measurements were taken in the Faculty of Sports Sciences Physiology Laboratory. The 10-movements core training programme for eight weeks was applied to the EG footballers in addition to their weekly 2-day football training when the footballers in the CG continued their regular trainings.Before the study, the leg strength, back strength, right-left hand griping strength, flexibility, and vertical jump measurement were taken as pre-test values. After the 8-week training, the final measurements of the EG and the CG were taken. The comparison between the Pretest and Posttest was studied statistically with paired sample t test at 0.05 significance levelConsequently it was determined the that the 8-week Core Training provided the undergradute footballers with an improvement of their the leg strength, back strength, right hand griping strength and vertical jump (p<0.05). No improvement in flexibility features was observed.

Urpose: Aim of this study was to investigate the effect of 8 weeks core training program on some physiological and physical parameters of handball team’s female players. Material and Methods: Volunteers were separated two groups as CTG (training group) and CG (control group). CTG was applied core strength training 30 min sessions 8 weeks and 3 days per week additionally handball trainings. CG wasn’t applied any core training. Effects of different core training regimes were compared after eight weeks with repeated measures MANOVA for the tests. Results: Neither group demonstrated difference for body composition measurements for repeated test scores and between groups comparisons. Significant difference was found BFP (body fat percentage) parameters on CTG. Sprint, agility, SLJ (standing long jump) scores did not increase in any groups and no difference was found between groups. Significance was found in VJ (vertical jump), back and leg strength, right and left hand grip strength, flexibility, balance parameters on CTG. Also significance was found in all core parameters on CTG. Conclusions: Results indicate that core trainings were very effective on performance based features especially on strength and core stability. So these exercises should be included in the training programs of female handball players.

In this study, it was aimed to examine the effect of a core training program that was applied on football players on some performance parameters. In total, 40 football players, aged between 18 and 24 years old, who regularly trained in football and were from various amateur football teams participated: 20 athletes in the training group and 20 athletes in the control group. It was taken the pre-test measurements of the athletes’ vertical jump, 30-m speed, agility, and flexibility; after the 6-week core training program, which was applied three days a-week, and it was taken the post-test measurements of the athletes. The training group applied the core training in addition to football training for 6-week, whereas the participants in the control group did not apply any training program other than their ongoing football training. It was used the SPSS 22 statistics program to evaluate the data and Shapiro-Wilk test to determine the normality distribution of the data. Owing to the normal distribution of the data, it was used a paired t-test to compare the pre-test and post-test values within the groups and accepted the confidence interval for statistical processes as p < 0.05. It was found a statistically significant difference in the vertical jump pre-test and post-test values of the training group (p < 0.05). In the control group, there was no statistically significant difference in the vertical jump pre-test and post-test values (p > 0.05). It was found a statistically significant difference in the 30-m speed pre-test and post-test values of the training group (p < 0.05). In the control group, there was no statistically significant difference in the 30-m speed pre-test and post-test values (p > 0.05). It was found a statistically significant difference in the agility pre-test and post-test values of the training group (p < 0.05). In the control group, no statistically significant difference was found in the agility pre-test and post-test values (p > 0.05). Considering the in-group flexibility pre-test and post-test comparisons, a statistically significant difference was found in the flexibility pre-test and post-test values of the training group (p < 0.05). In the control group, there was no statistically significant difference in flexibility pre-test and post-test values (p > 0.05). Based on the results of the present research, the 6-week core training program that was applied to football players improved the performance of vertical jump, 30-m speed, agility, and flexibility.

<p class="apa">The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of core training program on speed, acceleration, vertical jump, and standing long jump in female soccer players. A total of 40 female soccer players volunteered to participate in this study. They were divided randomly into 1 of 2 groups: core training group (CTG; n = 20) and control group (CG; n = 20). The mean (SD) age was 19.05 ± 1.15 years, height was 160.60 ± 4.22 cm, weight was 56.45 ± 3.33 kg, and sport age was 4.50 ± 1.24 for the core training group; the mean (SD) age was 18.55 ± 0.76 years, height was 159.10 ± 3.86 cm, weight was 52.20 ± 3.60 kg, and sport age was 3.35 ± 0.75 years for the control group. Following randomization, the 2 groups did not differ significantly (p&gt;0.05) in any of the dependent variables. The subjects in the control group did not participate in the training and participated only in the pre- and posttest measurements. To evaluate the effect of core training over the functional performance, we applied a testing procedure that included measurements of speed, acceleration, vertical jump, and standing long jump. The core training group showed a 3.4%, 5.9%, 13.3%, 4.2% improvement in speed, acceleration, vertical jump, and standing long jump (respectively) (P&lt;0.05), whereas the control group did not change (P&gt;0.05). In conclusion, Core exercises were improved speed, acceleration, vertical jump, and standing long jump in 18-19 years-old female soccer players. Therefore, it is believed core training is necessary for optimal sport performance and should not be dismissed for all sport branches.</p>

The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of the core training program applied for 8 weeks to basketball players aged 16-18 on free throw and vertical jump performance. 22 male basketball players (11 experimental group, 11 control group) aged 16-18 participated in the study voluntarily. While core training was applied to the basketball players in the experimental group, 2 days a week for 8 weeks, together with the basketball training, the basketball players in the control group only continued their routine basketball training. Free throw and vertical jump performance tests were applied to the subjects before applying the 8-week core training program (pre-test) and after the 8-week core training (post-test). Statistically significant difference was found between pretest and posttest in terms of experimental group free throw test values (p<0.05) Statistically significant difference was found between the pretest and posttest values of the control group in terms of free throw test values (p<0.05). When the experimental group and control group free throw pretest and posttest were compared, no statistical significance was found (p>0.05). A statistically significant difference was found between the pretest and posttest in terms of vertical jump test values of the experimental group and the control group (p<0.05). However, the development in the experimental group was higher than in the control group. There was no statistically significant difference between the free throw test difference mean values of the experimental group and the control group (p>0.05). A statistically significant difference was found between the vertical jump test difference mean values of the experimental group and the control group (p<0.05). As a result, it can be said that 8-week core training has positive effects on the development of vertical jump performance on basketball players, but no effect on free throw performance. <p> </p><p><strong> Article visualizations:</strong></p><p><img src="/-counters-/edu_01/0870/a.php" alt="Hit counter" /></p>

The purpose of the present research is investigating the effects of core trainings on some motoric features (strength and speed) among 18 year-old footballers. In the present research, 20 experiment group (age =18 years, body weight =71,66±6,61 kg, height =171,75±5,86 cm) and 20 control group (age =18 years, body weight =70,66±5,74 kg, height =171,75±2,99 cm), the total of 40 certified footballers, who played in 2013-2014 season, participated in the present research.Before the trainings, pre-test scores (sit-up, push-up, plank, vertical jump, medicine ball throwing, 30 m speed) were recorded. 30-35 minute core trainings, 2 days a week, for 8 weeks were conducted on the control group in addition to their regular training. Control group participants followed their regular yearly training program. At the end of the trainings, post-test scores of both groups were recorded by two experts in the field in accordance with the protocol. In order to evaluate the effects of 8-week core trainings of the strength development of footballers, paired t test was utilized for in-group comparisons and independent samples t test was utilized for inter-group comparisons.Consequently, it was observed that 8-week core training in addition to football trainings contributed to the strength and speed development among footballers. Accordingly, core trainings can be advised for football trainers, who work for youth teams of football clubs. ÖzetBu araştırmanın amacı 18 yaş grubu futbolcularda bölgesel (core) antrenmanların bazı motorik özelliklerin (kuvvet ve sürat) gelişimine etkisinin incelenmesidir. Araştırmaya 2013-2014 sezonunda lisanslı olarak futbol oynayan 20 denek grubundan (yaş =18 yıl, vücut ağırlığı =71,66±6,61 kg, boy =171,75±5,86 cm) ve 20 kontrol grubundan (yaş =18 yıl, vücut ağırlığı =70,66±5,74 kg, boy =171,75±2,99 cm) olmak üzere 40 futbolcu katıldı.Antrenmanlar öncesi grupların ön testleri (mekik, şınav, plank, dikey sıçrama, sağlık topu fırlatma, 30 m. sürat) alındı. Deney grubuna normal antrenmanlarına ek olarak 8 hafta boyunca haftada 2 kez günde 30-35 dk. core antrenmanlar uygulandı. Kontrol grubuna ise yıllık antrenman programında yer alan olağan antrenmanlar uygulandı. Antrenmanlar sonunda grupların son test ölçümleri alanında uzman iki kişi tarafından protokole uygun bir şekilde alındı. 8 hafta boyunca uygulanan merkez bölge (core) antrenmanlarının futbolcuların kuvvet gelişimine etkisinin değerlendirilmesinde grup içi karşılaştırmalarda paired t testinden gruplar arası karşılaştırmalarda independent sample t testinden yararlanılmıştır.Sonuç olarak; futbol antrenmanlarına ek olarak uygulanacak 8 haftalık merkez bölge (core) antrenmanlarının futbolcuların kuvvet ve sürat gelişimine katkı sağladığı görüldü. Bu nedenle bölgesel (core) antrenman alt yapılarda çalışan futbol antrenörlerine önerilebilir.

The purpose of this study was to find out the effect of twenty four week Football training on flexibility, agility and endurance of Junior School boys. The study was conducted on thirty (N=30) Football players who were randomly selected from various Schools in Tamil Nadu, India during 2017-2018.The age of the subjects were ranged between 14 to 16. The selected players was assigned in to two groups of fifteen each (n=15), Group –I underwent Football training, and Group –II acted as Control. Flexibility, Agility and Endurance were selected as dependent variables. Flexibility was assessed by Sit & Reach test, Agility was assessed by 4×10 m Shuttle Run and Cardio Respiratory Endurance was assessed by Cooper’s 12 Minutes Run/Walk test. The experimental group underwent the training for 24 weeks. All the subjects were tested prior to and immediately after the training period of twenty four weeks for all the selected variables. The data collected data from the three groups prior to and immediately after the training programme on the selected criterion variables were statistically analyzed with Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA). In all the cases 0.05 level of confidence was fixed to test the hypotheses. Flexibility, Agility and Endurance showed significant difference between the groups. Football training group showed better performance than Control group.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to determine the effects of during six weeks core and weight lifting trainings on strength development, muscle and tissue damage which may occur. Method: The research group consisted of sixteen volunteers who participated in the same age group. Participants were divided into two groups, core training group (n: 8) and weight lifting training group (n: 8). Participants continued to the program for the group to which the belonged lasted for three days a week for six weeks. Participant’s performance measures (Back and leg strength, hand grip strength, vertical jump) were taken and blood samples were taken twice at rest before and at the end of the training sessions. AST, ALT, LDH, CK and CK-MB levels were determined in the blood samples taken. SPSS 22 package program was used in the analysis of the obtained data. Paired samples t test was used for intra-group comparisons. Results: When intra-group analyses are made; there were significant differences in the leg strength, vertical jump, CK and CK-MB values of the weight lifting training group, it was determined that only differences in back and leg strength values occurred in the core training group(p<0,05). Conclusion: As a result, both core and weight lifting training have led to some improvement in strength parameters. It can be said that especially weight lifting training also causes muscle damage as well as strength development.

Fascia-oriented training is supposed to enhance physical performance potential. Specifically, the employment of the catapult mechanism, the refinement of the elastic energy storage, remodelling, rehydration and release in fascia tissue are supposed to enable faster and more powerful jump performance. The authors of the present study reviewed that little applied research has been conducted to bring scientific evidence verifying these findings in sports practice. The study was conducted to assess the effect of a 6-month, fascia-oriented training programme, designed in accordance with the principles of the fascia-oriented exercise, on the height of vertical countermovement jump (CMJ) performance in well-trained volleyball players. Sixteen female players (age 17.31 ± 0.98; height 173 ± 5.26; weight 65.25 ± 6.75) competing in the national league were randomly assigned for the training (TG) and control group (CG). TG performed a supervised 25-minute fascia-oriented training twice a week for six months. Measurements were conducted before and after the training intervention; the subjects performed 3 trials of CMJ. The study hypothesized that after the application, the height of CMJ would increase more in TG than in CG. The results show that the height of CMJ in TG increased comparing to CMJ height in CG, though the difference is not statistically significant. The results of the effect size manifest the increase of medium level, by 2.2cm in TG. Thus we conclude that the results of the study indicate that the application of the 6-month, fascia-oriented training aimed to develop the vertical jump performance potential in elite volleyball players is not statistically significantly beneficial.

The purpose of this study was to compare some parameters of football players playing in 3rd League, BAL (Regional Amateur League) and SAL (Super Amateur League) according to the leagues they play in.Body height, body weight, body mass index, age, age of becoming a registered football player, vertical jump, anaerobic power, shuttle run, aerobic capacity (MaxVO2), leg strength, back strength, right-hand grip strength and left-hand grip strength parameters were measured in this study. ANOVA test, which is one of the parametric tests, were applied for the analysis of the data and significance level of p˂0.05 was sought.In conclusion, significant differences among the leagues were found according to height, vertical jump, anaerobic power, shuttle run, aerobic capacity, leg strength and back strength. However, no significant differences were found on body mass index, age, and age of becoming a registered football player, right-hand grip strength and left-hand grip strength parameters.

The aim of this study was to research the effect on biomotor skills of adding gymnastic work to training of children receiving ice-skating education. The mean age in the study was 5.1±0.8 years, a total of 18 children volunteered to participate. The experiment group had gymnastic training in addition to ice-skating training, while the control group only participated in ice-skating training. Before and after the study, the leg strength, explosive strength, balance and flexibility skills of sportspeople were observed. The results of the study found the experimental group had significant variation in long jump, flexibility, balance and vertical jump pretest and posttest measurements (89.5±19.6 cm-100.0±13.3 cm, 7.7±4.7 cm-10.2±3.6 cm, 15.6±5.2 times-10.7±5.7 times, 15.3±6.8 cm-21.8±6.4 cm, respectively), while the control group only showed significant change for flexibility performance. In light of these results, 8-week gymnastic training can be said to be an effective method to develop explosive strength and flexibility performance.
