In the next decade, high energy physicists will use very sophisticated equipment to record unprecedented amounts of data in the hope of making major advances in our understanding of particle phenomena. Some of the signals of new physics will be small, and the use of advanced analysis techniques will be crucial for optimizing signal to noise ratio. I will discuss new directions in data analysis and some novel methods that could prove to be particularly valuable for finding evidence of any new physics, for improving precision measurements and for exploring parameter spaces of theoretical models.

The information supplied from inline inspection data is often used by pipeline operators to make mitigation and/or remediation decisions based on integrity management program requirements. It is common practice to apply industry accepted remaining strength pressure calculations (i.e. B31G, 0.85 dl, effective area) to the data analysis results from an inline inspection survey used for the detection and characterization of metal loss. Similar assessments of data analysis results from an ultrasonic crack detection survey require expert knowledge in the field of fracture mechanics and, just as importantly, require knowledge to understand the limitations of shear wave ultrasonic technology as applied to an inline inspection tool. Traditionally, crack-like and crack-field features have been classified with a maximum depth distributed over the entire length of the feature; crack-field features also have width reported. In an effort to provide further prioritization, techniques such as “longest length” or “interlinked length” [1] have been employed. More recently, an effort has been made to provide a depth profile of the crack-like or crack-field feature using the ultrasonic crack detection data analysis results. This presentation will discuss the advantages of post assessment of ultrasonic crack detection data analysis results to aid in the evaluation of pipeline integrity and discuss the limitations of advanced analysis techniques. Additionally, the potential for new inline inspection ultrasonic technologies which lend themselves to more accurate data analysis techniques will be reviewed.

Large scale airshower simulations around the GZK cutoff are performed. An extensive analysis of the behaviour of the various subcomponents of the cascade is presented. We focus our investigation both on the study of total and partial multiplicities along the entire atmosphere and on the geometrical structure of the various cascades, in particular on the lateral distributions. The possibility of detecting new physics in Ultra High Energy Cosmic Rays (UHECR) at AUGER is also investigated. We try to disentangle effects due to standard statistical fluctuations in the first proton impact in the shower formation from the underlying interaction and comment on these points. We argue that theoretical models predicting large missing energy may have a chance to be identified, once the calibration errors in the energy measurements are resolved by the experimental collaborations, in measurements of inclusive multiplicities.

Recent advances in single-particle electron microscopy (EM) have enabled the structural elucidation of several macromolecular complexes at near-atomic resolution. These achievements have been assisted by both well-ordered molecular specimens and rapid improvements in the direct-electron-detection technology. However, substantial challenges remain as the research field pushes the single-particle EM imaging technique towards even higher resolution, especially on smaller and dynamic molecular assemblies. Facilitated by the state-of-the-art electron microscopes at the OHSU-FEI Living Lab, I have been conducting research on effective approaches to cryo-EM data acquisition and data analysis. For the data acquisition, the central aim is to record TEM images of minimally damaged molecular specimens (due to the high-energy electron beam) on the detector. For the data analysis, my goal is to extract the maximal amount of information from the data images (at very low signal-to-noise ratio) for unbiased particle 2D classification and 3D reconstruction. I will discuss my research effort in these areas in the context of structural biology studies.

The objectives of this research are to know and to analyze about the effect of Continuous Improvement on the performance of employees at PT. Rentang Buana Niagamakmur (PT.RBN) Tasikmalaya. Research method which applied in this research is survey research method, while data collecting technique is done by through questionaire. Sampling technique applies sample is accidental sampling technique and the size sample is 55 respondents. Data analysis techniques used in the study is simple regression technique, analysis of the coefficient of determination  and t test. The results showed that the Continuous Improvement  including both criteria, including employee performance criteria, as well as Continuous Improvement  has a positive influence on employee performance of 76,4% in PT . Rentang Buana Niagamakmur (PT.RBN) Tasikmalaya.

AbstractHumans on earth need social interaction with others. Humans can use more than one language in communication. Thus, the impact that arises when the use of one or more languages is the contact between languages. One obvious form of contact between languages is interference. Interference can occur at all levels of life. As in this study, namely Indonesian Language Interference in Learning PPL Basic Thailand Unhasy Students. This study contains the form of interference that occurs in Thai students who are conducting teaching practices in the classroom. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research that seeks to describe any interference that occurs in the speech of Thai students when teaching practice. Data collection methods in this study are (1) observation techniques, (2) audio-visual recording techniques using CCTV and (3) recording techniques, by recording all data that has been obtained. Whereas the data wetness uses, (1) data triangulation, (2) improvement in perseverance and (3) peer review through discussion. Data analysis techniques in this study are (1) data collection, (2) data reduction, (3) data presentation and (4) conclusions. It can be seen that the interference that occurs includes (1) interference in phonological systems, (2) interference in morphological systems and (3) interference in syntactic systems.

The research is proposed to test the influence of Leadership and Motivation Work on Public Service Quality. The population in this study was the Kantor Kementerian Agama Sungai Penuh who had received the last 1 year service at the Kantor Kementerian Agama Sungai Penuh, amounting to 260 people. Furthermore, by using the Slovin formula, a sample size of 158 people was chosen with a sampling technique based on Simple Random Sampling. This study uses primary data and secondary data. Data analysis techniques used are path analysis and hypothesis testing using t test with data analysis using SPSS version 20. The results of the study based on showing that partially the Leadership and motivation work have a positive and significant effect on Public Service Quality. The results also show that motivation work variables act as intervening variables between Leadership and Public Service Quality.

The purpose of this study is to create a new tool capable of diagnosing the severity of internet addiction (IA) and is based on the nine IGD criteria. These same criteria were suggested by the APA in the last edition of the DSM-51. A sample was recruited with a method of convenience and 300+ participants were recruited through different forums and social networks. The construct validity of the IDS9SF test was achieved through factor analysis and nomological validity. The concurrent validity, criterion and reliability of the test itself have been thoroughly investigated through the most common and consolidated data analysis techniques, confirming that the same test has sufficient psychometric properties to be used also in the Italian territory. Furthermore it is necessary to remember that this preliminary research is only valid in the field of data and statistics with all the limitations of the case and cannot be used for a real clinical evaluation.
