The purpose of this empirical study was to examine e-health readiness, acceptance and use in hospitals and health centers in Ethiopia. In this study, 900 samples were taken using a simple random sampling method from 10 Hospitals and 20 health centers in northwestern Ethiopia. SmartPls software was used for the structural equation modeling and path analysis techniques. All of the e-health readiness indicators, except employees’ attitudes showed that hospitals and health centers were not ready to implement and use e-health systems. The intentions of users to accept and use e-health systems were evaluated and determinants were identified. Service quality from the technological factors, self-efficacy from the human factors and user training from the organizational factors were found to be significant determinants of user satisfaction, individual performance, and organizational performance respectively. Major determinants were an organizational performance with a contribution of 37.6% influence followed by an individual performance with 28.2% contribution (together accounted for about 65.8% influence) of the users’ behavioral intentions to use e-health systems. The model, which explained 47.6 % of the variances in the data, was found to be significant.

Technological innovations and its implementation in different organizations has been one of the prime interest of academicians as well as practitioners. The diffusion and implementation of information systems invited researchers to check effectiveness of the systems. The current study is using the Delone and Mclean as theoretical framework in context of media organizations. Sample data has been collected from top 15 news channels employees who are using news management software. A sample of 1000 was selected from these channels with the help of stratified sampling technique. Data were analysed by using the structural equation modelling. The results show that employees perceive that service quality, system quality and information quality are significant contributor to news flow and individual performance. Moreover, news flow is directly and indirectly affecting the individual performance. In addition to this, individual performance is significant predictor of process performance, satisfaction and organizational performance. The result strongly supports the integration of news flow and satisfaction in Delone and Mclean model. The results also support the mediating role of news flow, process performance and satisfaction. The paper offers a snapshot that how quality indicators and user satisfaction from news management system can increase the effectiveness of media organization. The research would be a great value to practitioners and media organizations.

While the development of information systems in workplaces with the aim of achieving cost-effectiveness, efficiency and quality of service delivery remain sacrosanct, issues of effective utilization and its resultant implications on organizational performance remain critical from one context to another. Unfortunately, few studies had considered focusing on these causal relationships among information system deployments in the construction industry especially in developing countries like Nigeria. This work modelled the interactions causal relationships associated with task technology fit, system usage and performance variables using the TUSPEM model. Through convenience and stratified sampling techniques, the views of 136 senior staff including top level management staff, sectional heads and other senior staff of a construction firm in Nigeria were sought. Smart PLS structural equation modeling software was used for the analysis of the dataset. The result showed significant relationships between causal variables in the TUSPEM model such as Application utilization to performance (t-value 2.44, P< 0.02), utilization to user satisfaction (t-value 2.87, P< 0.01). TTF to performance (t-value 2.86, P< 0.06), satisfaction (t-value 4.40, P< 0.00), User attitude to utilization (t-value 5.40, P< 0.00). Computer 2self-efficacy to utilization (t-value 4.47, P< 0.00). User satisfaction to performance (t-value 2.47, P< 0.01). Critical appraisal and integration of quality feedback on information system usage and its resultant effects on the numerous information systems being deployed must not be sideline if the sustainability of information system is anything to go by. Other implications are discussed.

The main purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of cultural components on organizational performance in startups. For this purpose, by literature reviewing and theoretical foundations which were derived from independent and dependent variables, the research model was designed. The independent variable of research included cultural components including the dimensions of diversity and breadth, trust and messaging and dependent variable of research included organizational performance in startups. According to the designed model, a questionnaire was distributed among the statistical sample that included all managers of startups in Tehran City. In this regard, 168 questionnaires were distributed by simple random sampling method and by collecting it, the data were analyzed using the structural equation modeling and Amos software. According to the results, all research hypotheses in line with the impact of organizational culture on the dimensions of diversity and breadth, trust and easy communication in startups on organizational performance in startups were confirmed. Also, according to the analysis of the relationship between independent and dependent indices, the variables of messaging, diversity, breadth and trust dimensions showed the highest relationship with 0.86, 0.83 and 0.82, respectively.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to propose and empirically test a unified framework that captures the antecedents of e-business implementation, that is; organizational factors which is decomposed into organizational capabilities (training availability, technical expertise, knowledge level), knowledge management capabilities (knowledge acquisition, application, and sharing), adhocracy culture, and top management support, e-business implementation, and organizational performance (efficiency, sales performance, customer satisfaction, relationship development). Design/methodology/approach – Data from a survey of 258 top managers in Saudi Arabian enterprises were collected to empirically test the proposed research model. Additionally, the statistical techniques employed included a confirmatory factor analysis to examine the reliability and validity of the measurement model, and structural equation modeling using AMOS is utilized to test the hypotheses. Findings – The findings of this study suggest that organizational factors influence e-business implementation. Moreover, e-business implementation affects organizational performance. Research limitations/implications – This study did not investigate all organizational factors and knowledge management processes. Future research could assess the influence of additional factors such as technology and environment contexts on e-business implementation. Practical implications – Owners/managers considering e-business implementation would be best to focus on internal (organizational) factors and their interaction within and beyond the organization, rather than focussing exclusively on technological considerations. Originality/value – This study is significant for at least two reasons: it determines the key antecedents to successful business implementation based on organizational factors and it helps to understand the effects of e-business implementation on organizational performance.

This article presents an exploratory model to classify public attitudes towards health systems financing and organization. It comprises 5 factors (pay-as-you-use, solidarity, willingness to contribute, mixed financing, and public provision) measured by 17 indicators, selected through Exploratory Structural Equation Modeling (ESEM) applied to a sample of Chilean adults. Based on this model, cluster analysis proposed 2 groups: “Taxes-public” and “Insurance-choice,” representing 47% and 53% of interviewees, respectively. The results show differences between groups concerning the evaluation of both health care providers and insurers. The second cluster tends to evaluate them more harshly, showing less willingness to contribute further, less solidarity, more agreement with the current financing arrangement in terms of the mixture and its insurance (as opposed to purchasing of service based on health problems), and more support for choice of provider. These results highlight the need to consider people’s attitudes in the public discussion of health systems financing.

The current study investigates the extent of the contribution of five facets of management by walking around (MBWA) — discovering facts, communication, motivation, creativity, and feedback — to improving organizational excellence in media institutions in the Sultanate of Oman. Especially as these institutions suffer from a lack of communication and interaction between their management and their employees. The descriptive analytical approach was used in this study. Using a simple random sampling technique, data were collected using a questionnaire from 260 respondents working as administrative staff in three media institutions: The Directorate General of Media, the Omani News Office in Dhofar Governorate, and the General Authority for Radio and Television. To test the study hypotheses, the data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) by AMOS software. The results revealed that, of the five facets investigated, three dimensions of MBWA (namely discovering facts, communication, and feedback) have a positive and significant impact on organizational excellence, while motivation and creativity do not appear to affect organizational excellence. This study, therefore recommends working to create a supportive environment for applying MBWA in media institutions and educating managers in these media institutions on the importance of MBWA through workshops, training courses, and conferences to reach excellence in these institutions.

The role Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) play in achieving a better organizational performance still needs further analysis among small and medium sized enterprises (SME) from developing countries. This study aims to extend the empirical literature on the relationship between ICT, electronic commerce and SME performance in developing countries. To achieve this goal, we employ a sample of 87 manufacturing firms from the city of Bahía Blanca, Argentina in the year 2015. By estimating a structural equation model, we obtain that electronic commerce adoption has a positive and significant influence on SME sales which is reinforced by the level of ICT use. Other organizational factors such as firm size and public programs explain performance, but are not significant predictors of the electronic commerce adoption.
