In the face of the complexities created by the turbulence, volatility, and uncertainty in the global economy, the Indian corporate sector finds itself in a state of flux. Avinash Paranjape sees the impact of the global crisis on the Indian industry as a contagion effect, being in the form of a slowdown. From the study emerge four distinct patterns of the effect of the slowdown on Indian firms. While the firms exposed to foreign currency have become victims of volatility, those in the IT-related services faced export blues. The firms in the financial and real estate sectors experienced the burst bubble syndrome, whereas the acquirers faced multiple financial issues. Despite the prevalence of pockets of weakness, in general, the author finds the Indian banks, financial institutions, and the corporate sector as strong and less exposed to the vagaries of the global recession

The tourism industry generally incorporates many industries including lodging, transport, travel companies etc. globally, travel and tourism directly contributed approximately. The tourism sector has been considered as a good growth of the economy. Global tourism is an invisible export that creates a ow of foreign currency into the economy. Unexpected conditions of global recession emerged, travel restrictions, lockdowns and social- distancing. Thus, it is understood that the impact of covid-19 pandemic has effect the tourism sector. This study is mainly conducted in order to nd out how deep the impact of covid-19 pandemic has effect the tourism industry in general and in India as well. Hence, there is no doubt that the global economy need to come out of this pandemic as soon as possible. Experts has emphasized on the need and potential to tap domestic tourism and thereby make use of its forward as well as backward linkages to stimulate the economic indicators. The travel and tourism industry sector requires constructing the approach by introducing the essential measures like, social distancing, wearing mask when stepping out, changing people's social behavior. Construction is commonly known as a high-risk business; the risks and uncertainties associated with construction activities are usually higher and more dynamic than any other industry. One of the risks imposed on the firms working abroad is related to the impact of currency fluctuation on operating performance. In the Middle East, the data collected on the ground indicate that many construction professionals, including estimators and cost controllers, either lack the necessary related knowledge or they tend to pay insufficient attention to this critical risk in their projects. Because of the unstable global economy, a decreasing pipeline of new opportunities due to the deterioration of oil prices, and the more laborious and lengthy payment terms enforced in contracts across the Middle East, exchange rate movements play an increasing role in the contractors performance. Those who work in this region have begun to realise the challenges associated with managing the foreign currency exchange (FOREX) fluctuation risk. This article provides an overview of the currency fluctuation risk within the context of the construction industry, identifies the associated challenges and attempts to offer a framework for the regional companies that could mitigate the FOREX risk.

The article presents the results of a research on the current processes of financial inclusion, substantiates the concept of financial inclusion and its world level, and systematizes the existing theoretical-methodological and empirical approaches to determining its role for sustainable development. Based on the analysis of fundamental conditions and current factors of intensification of financial inclusion, the author substantiates the real purpose and consequences of the introduction of digital financial inclusion in national economies and in the global economy and shows the role of global financial institutions in these processes. Particular attention is paid to the impact of financial inclusion on solving the problems of poverty and inequality in society. It is shown that modern financial inclusion does not serve the interests of the majority, but rather the interests of a clearly limited circle of representatives of the global economic and financial elite by creating conditions for the invariance of financial inclusion for ordinary economic agents. The author argues that the main long-term institutional risk of global financial inclusion and non-cash circulation is the consent to the loss of financial freedom by market participants in the face of growing uncertainty in economic and social life and poverty.

Globalized challenges of the world economy have created an objective need for Ukraine to develop in the face of the country’s lack of preparedness for global competition and integration. The development of the economy of Ukraine in the context of globalization is taking place in a context of incomplete systemic socioeconomic and political transformation and poses problems related to the optimal integration of the economy of the country into the global economy. At the same time, the impact of globalization processes calls for new theoretical approaches to justify the structural transformation of a country’s economic development model. The directions of globalization for national economies are quite complex and contradictory. Globalization is deepening specialization and cooperation globally and the international division of labor. International competition stimulates the development of innovative processes and state-of-the-art technologies through technology transfer among countries of the world. The current model of development in Ukraine is characterized by significant deformations of the economy: fragmentation of technological space, excessive social differentiation, increased poverty, unemployment and a reduction in the population, The Russian Federation is a country with many countries, which have been affected by human-made environmental degradation and overload, the shrinking of the domestic market and the national economy, the rise of the shadow economy, the rise of corruption, etc. All this points to a structural imbalance in the Ukrainian economy. The further intensification of globalization processes will exacerbate the problem of national identity, The solution of which many countries see the strengthening of State influence on international economic cooperation through the introduction of protectionist measures in the areas of trade, migration and investment, that in turn will contribute to the strengthening of geo-economic and geopolitical tensions in the world. In this context, there is a need to establish new principles for world economic stabilization and development.

Several countries are affected by the coronavirus, causing panic across the globe. The coronavirus originated during late December,2019 and spread across borders in few months. The pandemic caused by the virus has resulted in intense social and economic disruptions. It has caused a severe global recession. Social distancing measures are undertaken to reduce the spread of the virus. According to the recent Global Financial Stability Report, further aggravation of the virus will affect global nancial security and if nancial conditions are tightened even further, the global nancial system will suffer more “cracks”. The prices of commodities and risk assets have begun to fall sharply, volatility of assets has increased, corporate credit markets are crumbling, and market liquidity is seen to be deteriorating. Country authorities are taking several scal measures, implementing social distancing and self-quarantine, supporting the corporate sector and providing unemployment benets for those affected. Few countries that have been hugely affected by the crisis are USA, Spain, Italy, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Turkey, Iran and China. The countries have been implementing various policies for the same. The following article briefs on the measures taken by countries to minimize the spread of the virus and its economic repercussions, the countries most affected and policies implemented in order to tackle COVID-19 repercussions.

Can a small, landlocked country sandwiched between the world’s two most populous countries open itself to the global economy without losing the values that make it a separate sovereign nation? Chapter 6 looks at critical challenges facing contemporary Bhutan such as maintaining its spirituality in the face of global consumer culture, the transmission of traditional values to its next generation, and the protection of minority rights. These assessments draw from longitudinal data on Bhutanese society and its national happiness surveys to offer a real-time assessment of the country’s well-being. The chapter concludes with a historical examination of the impact of Bhutanese government policies on Nepali Bhutanese.

The US dollar has strengthened in recent months against most major currencies, with the exception of the yen. It has also gained strength against emerging market currencies, and the US effective exchange rate has appreciated by just over 7 per cent in the past three months. Emerging market declines have been exacerbated in recent weeks by the turbulence on financial markets that has forced stock markets to interrupt trading on several occasions. Figure 13 shows effective exchange rates for the US, Canada, Mexico and Brazil. Central banks in Mexico and Brazil have intervened in currency markets in recent weeks to stem the decline of their currencies, which have dropped against the dollar by nearly 20 per cent in the case of Mexico and 40 per cent in Brazil since the beginning of September. If stock market trading stabilises, much of these losses should prove temporary. Our forecast assumes that a depreciation of 10 per cent in effective terms in the Brazilian real and 5 per cent in the Mexican peso is sustained. While this raises the inflationary outlook for these economies, gains in competitiveness will help moderate the impact of the global recession on Latin American economies. However, a more sustained depreciation will put the banking systems in these countries at risk as it becomes increasingly difficult to service debt in foreign currency.

The motion picture industry is one of the largest industries worldwide and has significant importance in the global economy. Considering the high stakes and high risks in the industry, forecast models and decision support systems are gaining importance. Several attempts have been made to estimate the theatrical performance of a movie before or at the early stages of its release. Nevertheless, these models are mostly used for predicting domestic performances and the industry still struggles to predict box office performances in overseas markets. In this study, the aim is to design a forecast model using different machine learning algorithms to estimate the theatrical success of US movies in Turkey. From various sources, a dataset of 1559 movies is constructed. Firstly, independent variables are grouped as pre-release, distributor type, and international distribution based on their characteristic. The number of attendances is discretized into three classes. Four popular machine learning algorithms, artificial neural networks, decision tree regression and gradient boosting tree and random forest are employed, and the impact of each group is observed by compared by the performance models. Then the number of target classes is increased into five and eight and results are compared with the previously developed models in the literature.
