A significant development for conducting research on patient rights has been made in Iran over the past decade. This study is conducted in order to review and analyze the previous studies that have been made, so far, concerning patient rights in Iran. This is a comprehensive review study conducted by searching the Iranian databases, Scientific Information Database, Iranian Research Institute for Information Science and Technology, Iran Medex and Google using the Persian equivalent of keywords for ‘awareness', ‘attitude’, and ‘patient rights'. For pertinent Iranian papers published in English, scientific databases PubMed, and Google Scholar were searched using the keyword ‘patient rights' and ‘Iran’. A total of 41 Persian and five English articles were found for these keywords, only 26 of which fulfilled the objective of our study. The increasing number of papers published indicates that from 1999 onwards, this subject has begun to draw the attention of Iranian researchers in a progressive fashion and Iranian papers in English have also been compiled and published in international sources.

Objectives: The present study aimed at reviewing the existing literature on the effects of maternal corticosteroid administration on pulsatility index (PI) values in the umbilical artery and middle cerebral artery (MCA). Materials and Methods: The search for relevant materials on "evaluating the effect of corticosteroids on fetal circulation" included the following databases: PubMed, Scopus, Cochrane Library, ISI Web of Science, Proquest, Google Scholar, EMBASE, and Iranian Databases of Magiran, Iran Medex, Barakat knowledge network system, Scientific Information Database, Iranian Research Institute for Information Science and Technology, from 1990 to June 2017. Results: In our search for the relevant literature, 19 articles were found. In total, these studies included 654 pregnant women, who were evaluated for fetal circulation before and after corticosteroid (betamethasone or dexamethasone) injection, for PI values in the umbilical artery and MCA. The effects of steroid injection were evaluated between 23 and 34 weeks of gestation. Conclusions: Overall, the results of the reviewed studies indicated that antenatal exposure to corticosteroids reduces umbilical artery PI and MCA PI and improves fetal circulation during pregnancy.

This article presents the effect of taking into account the subgrade coefficient on static work of a pontoon with an internal partition, made in one stage and treated computationally as a monolithic closed rectangular tank. An exemplary pontoon is a single, ready-made shipping element that can be used as a float for a building. By assembling several floats together, the structure can form a floating platform. Due to the increasingly violent weather phenomena and the necessity to ensure safe habitation for people in countries at risk of inundation or flooding, amphibious construction could provide new solutions. This article presents calculations for a real pontoon made in one stage for the purpose of conducting research. Since it is a closed structure without any joint or contact, it can be concluded that it is impossible for water to get inside. However, in order to exclude the possibility of the pontoon filling with water, its interior was filled with Styrofoam. For static calculations, the variational approach to the finite difference method was used, assuming the condition for the minimum energy of elastic deflection during bending, taking into account the cooperation of the tank walls with the Styrofoam filling treated as a Winkler elastic substrate and assuming that Poisson’s ratio ν = 0. Based on the results, charts were made illustrating the change in bending moments at the characteristic points of the analysed tank depending on acting loads. The calculations included hydrostatic loads on the upper plate and ice floe pressure as well as buoyancy, stability and metacentric height of the pontoon. The aim of the study is to show a finished product—a single-piece pontoon that can be a prefabricated element designed for use as a float for “houses on water”.

Herein, a comprehensive review is given focusing on the chemical profiles of the essential oils (EOs), non-volatile compounds, ethnobotany, and biological activities of different Haplophyllum (Rutaceae family) species. To gather the relevant data, all the scientific databases, including Scopus, ISI-WOS (Institute of Scientific Information-Web of Science), and PubMed and highly esteemed publishers such as Elsevier, Springer, Taylor and Francis, etc., were systematically retrieved and reviewed. A wide array of valuable groups of natural compounds, e.g., terpenoids, coumarins, alkaloids, lignans, flavonoids, and organic acids have been isolated and subsequently characterized in different organic extracts of a number of Haplophyllum species. In addition, some remarkable antimicrobial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, anticancer, cytotoxic, antileishmanial, and antialgal effects as well as promising remedial therapeutic properties have been well-documented for some species of the genus Haplophyllum.

The dimension of choice and adherence to healthy lifestyles is in the area of social constructions made in representations of individuals and had not yet been included in the Surveillance of Risk and Protective Factors for Chronic Diseases by Telephone Survey (VIGITEL) analysis systems. This article aims to understand, in individual narratives, representations contained in the trajectories of people's lives selected from the 2010 VIGITEL sample, in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. It is a qualitative study based on Social Representation Theory. Thirty in-depth and open interviews with subjects selected from the 2010 VIGITEL sample were conducted in Belo Horizonte in the State of Minas Gerais. The Structural Analysis of Narrative technique was used to reveal the content of speeches. Age and heredity representations related to NCDs are part of the spectrum of current scientific information. Learning from childhood onwards is the basis of care. The lack of comprehension of the pathophysiology of NCDs, and the depth of representations of illness and death related to communicable diseases, is partly responsible for the difficulty of preventing NCDs.

The use and management of scientific sources of information, made by the Mexican media, regarding SARS-CoV-2 is analyzed. It is investigated whether four national media, two news and two opinion, resort to verified scientific sources to inform or comment on the specialized issues about the virus. An exploratory study was carried out on the number of scientific publications made on the virus in scientific databases and in three preprint repositories. Subsequently, a content analysis of four Mexican media was conducted to identify the sources and use of specialized information regarding SARS-CoV-2. Frequently, the news media rely on agency content, although in its original content there is a use-learning curve that allows forecasting best practices The opinion media delve into reflection, but its editorial line is dominant in the face of the scientific approach to the current issue.

The initial development of carnivorous fish in farms requires intensive care regarding nutrition and management, in order to avoid the stress that can lead to cannibalistic behavior, a major cause of mortality in larvae and juveniles of cultivated carnivorous species. The objective of this article was to evaluate the initial development of carnivorous freshwater fish in South American territory, focusing on the development of the digestive tract and feeding, through a systematic literature review, resulting from research in scientific databases, with the strategy of searching for the key-words: fish and larvae and development and digestive and Brazil and "name of the different species found", besides manual searches made in the bibliographical references of the articles selected. At the end of the selection, 17 articles, published between 2007 and 2017, were included in the review. It was verified that the ontological evaluation of the digestive system of the larvae’s is of major importance to adapt the nutritional management to the needs of the young animals, reaching higher productivity of carnivorous fish.

AbstractCystic echinococcosis (CE) caused by Echinococcus granulosus sensu lato (s.l.) is a significant zoonosis, especially in developing countries of the Middle East, with many studies focusing on CE genotypes in Iran. We performed a systematic review to determine the exact status of E. granulosus genotypes in the country. We explored English (Pubmed, Scopus, ISI Web of Science and Science Direct) and Persian (Magiran, Iran Medex and Scientific Information Database) databases along with Google Scholar. Our review included 73 studies published prior to the end of 2015. In total, 2952 animal (intermediate and definitive) hosts were examined, and the prevalent genotypes comprised G1 (92.75%) and G6 (4.53%) in sheep, cattle, camels, goats and buffaloes; G3 (2.43%) in five herbivore hosts and dogs; G7 (0.2%) in sheep and goats; and G2 (0.06%) in dogs. G1 was mostly dominant in West Azerbaijan, whereas G3 and G6 were identified most frequently in the provinces of Isfahan and Fars, respectively. Regarding human CE infection, 340 cases were reported from Iran, with the identified genotypes G1 (n = 320), G6 (n = 13) and G3 (n = 7). Most CE-infected humans originated from Isfahan province (168 cases), whereas the lowest number of infected persons was noted in Kerman province (two cases). The information obtained from this systematic review is central to better understanding the biological and epidemiological characteristics of E. granulosus s.l. genotypes in Iran, leading to more comprehensive control strategies.

General Meeting of Shareholders (GMS), in principle, is made in the form of an original deed carried out in front of a notary or included in the meeting minutes in the form of a deed under the hand wherein the deed is converted into an authentic deed. This study uses empirical research methods by conducting interviews with Notaries based on their experience in making the statement deed, so the formulation of the problem made to limit and make more focus in conducting research is about the notary's responsibility in making deeds related to the general meeting of shareholders, as well as reviewing aspects of protection obtained by a notary public regarding the deed. The conclusion obtained from the research is that according to Article 15 of Act Number 2 of 2014 concerning Notary Position, a Notary has the authority to make Deed of Decision of Limited General Meeting of Shareholders and will be an authentic deed if made in the form of a notarial deed called Decree of Decision General Meeting of Shareholders.
