While the literature on project management and product development is voluminous, in reality little of it addresses the questions of document management of new organizational procedures to increase project development productivity, and of software development tools required to support and control these procedures. This research study develops a new methodology to integrate project management (activities, milestones, and resources) and document management (responsibilities, authorizations, workflows, archives, and storage). The aim of the integration is threefold. First, it aims to plan and to control activities and documents essential for product development. Second, it aims to ensure the management of documents in terms of responsibilities, authorizations, dissemination, and storage. And third, it aims to trace and locate documents for any type of product. Further, this study shows the value of electronic document management (EDM) in terms of improving the management and communication of concepts and ideas, whether it be for project teams or organizations, for reengineering basic business processes, or for leveraging long-run organizational memory through documents.

This article considers the features of electronic document management at retail trade enterprises of the FMCG-segment. The paper observes the types of document flow at chain companies and examines the process of implementation of electronic document management system. The notions of “electronic document management” and “electronic data interchange” are also distinguished in the article. The paper explores positive changes caused by the introduction of electronic document management and the complexity of its implementation. The study reveals that in the Russian Federation the process of mass introduction of electronic document management in the chain retail companies of the FMCG segment has been ongoing for about ten years, though has reached the highest level of its activity in the last two years. At present day, the major part of chain retail companies in the FMCG-segment has already started to actively work with the Electronic Data Interchange system. Moreover, in recent years the number of partner-enterprises that join this system has been steadily increasing. The results of the study show that introduction of electronic document management in chain companies of the FMCG-segment allows to reduce the time spent for processing documents and to track all stages of the core business processes more effectively. It also ensures information security, improves staff discipline and the quality of service, which in its turn significantly improves management efficiency of the company in general.

Aim. The presented study aims to determine the role and place of electronic document management in the corporate system of Russian enterprises, outlining the prospects for its development.Tasks. The authors examine the legislative acts of the Russian Federation on the prospects for the implementation of electronic document management; assess the impact of the pandemic on the digitalization of document management; analyze the business costs of paper document management; identify the advantages of using electronic document management and promising technologies in document processing.Methods. This study uses theoretical and empirical research methods. The dialectic method is used to determine the role, significance, and legal status of electronic document management. Through a logical approach, the essence of such concepts as 'electronic document' and 'electronic document management' is identified.Results. The study presents directions for the development of electronic document management using blockchain technology, which will improve workflows by processing, sorting, exchanging data and documents protected from unauthorized access, and artificial intelligence, which can help organizations process documents faster by simplifying operational procedures. Obstacles that prevent companies from actively using electronic document management are identified. These include additional investment, time costs, and reorganization of management. The volume of innovative services is analyzed by the type of economic activity, and the costs of creating, storing, and processing paper documents are considered.Conclusions. Recent trends in legislation indicate the government's firm commitment to the speedy introduction of electronic document management in Russia. Its use frees up a lot of resources, including time, labor, and finances. The 2020 pandemic has emphasized the importance of digitalizing business processes to ensure their continuity in unforeseen situations. Integrated into the automation of work processes, blockchain technology will ensure the protection of information from unauthorized tampering. Artificial intelligence will open up new opportunities for processing electronic documents.

The article examines the features of electronic document management of technical documentation of railway automation and telemechanics. The article deals with the problems of synthesis of mathematical models of electronic document flow for technical documentation of road automation and telemechanics. For this purpose, a survey of the real processes of creating, checking and using technical documentation was carried out on the basis of the process of accounting and control of railway automation and telemechanics devices, which allowed us to identify the structural scheme of the formalized model of technical documentation. A model of electronic document flow of technical documentation, created using the mathematical apparatus of finite automata, is constructed. A block diagram of the automatic model of technical documentation has been developed. The proposed block diagram of the formalized model of technical documentation consists of matrices of external micro-operations, internal micro-operations, and code creation for the following micro-components. The number of internal States of the firmware automaton is fully determined by the number of elements of logic circuits of algorithms. The size of the matrices depends on the number of operators and logical conditions in the logic schemes of the algorithms. The size of the matrices depends on the number of operators and logical conditions in the logic schemes of the algorithms. The application of the proposed methodology for building a model of technical documentation allows us to develop reliable application software for solving the problems of operational document management of railway automation and telemechanics.

The priority goal of most companies in the process of formation of financial data on the availability and movement of accounts receivable is to reduce its time with no loss of quality. The goal can be achieved by the optimization of business processes. One of its directions can be electronic document management. The introduction of electronic document management will significantly reduce the processing of contracts, while ensuring acceptable completeness and reliability of information. An automatically generated daily report makes it possible to control receivables and respond to overdue debts. The article considers the process of implementation of the electronic document management system and emphasizes the effectiveness and feasibility of its use in the preparation of information on debtors accounts. One of the key circumstances is that after successful completion of all stages of automation, the implemented system should be constantly refined and improved. This is a major factor in the successful use of electronic document management for receivables management.

Electronic document interchange is one of the digital technologies, which is designed to increase the efficiency of business-processes by saving two key resources: labor and time. Electronic document management systems can be implemented in a level of an individual enterprise, as well as at inter-corporate and international levels. Despite the significant advantages that are assumed by the use of electronic document management systems, the process of spreading this technology is slowed for some reasons, such as gaps in the law and psychological barriers of employees. The research of opportunities and risks associated with the prevalence of electronic document interchange, the study of the institutional conditions for its development, the forms of its organization and specific features of its implementation is a necessary condition for improving the process of its spreading in Russian economic practice.

The current level of digitalization of enterprises is investigated in the paper. It is established that the modern economic reality in the world of business is specified by two directions of development – digital transformation of information processes or disappearance from the business sphere. In fact, the world experiences digitalization as an important strategic task and accounting is an important part of this process. It was found that digitalization in the activities of national enterprises gained special momentum during COVID-19 pandemic. Having studied the market of information process automation services, the companies actively started to implement software and to set up business processes under new conditions. The TOP-25 leaders of digitalization include national companies from various fields of activity – both specialized companies in digital products as well as successful companies in the field of business processes digitalization, affecting the competitiveness of companies and economy as a whole. The main obstacles to the rapid establishment of the information processes automation at the national enterprises are personnel policy, duration of the information processes automation introduction at enterprises, reluctance of contractors to be digitalized, the cost of the information processes automation and maintenance of this process. The solution to these obstacles is possible due to the transformation of business processes at enterprises, communication processes, automation of electronic document management, the use of the latest IT equipment, transition to the cloud technologies. It is determined that one of the important tools of digital transformation of enterprises business processes is the development of accounting while using IT technologies. The main directions of digital accounting development include: introduction of electronic document management in business processes of the enterprises; use of cloud services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) in information processes of enterprises; use of Blockchain technologies and artificial intelligence tools in accounting processes; technologies for working with Big Data and Internet of Things. This will increase the importance and efficiency of information for enterprise management processes. The main areas of transformation of the business sphere with digital tools include digital transformation of products and services, renewal of enterprise assets and transformation of business processes by digital tools, digitalization of logistics processes, application of the latest models of economic development, employees training. This will improve the quality of national enterprises and speed up business processes.
