The main components of pupils research competence formation process at mathematics lessons have been presented in this paper. Developed by the author model, based on principles of choice, controllability and focus, educational reflection, trust and support, directed on formation of pupils research competence has been described. Sensibleness and motivation to the concrete content of research activity is carried out during educational and informative games, educational discussions, emotional stimulation methods, selection and designing of research activitys personal and significant content. The model assumes formation of abilities to work with various sources of information. The main conditions of carrying out a modern lesson in the developed model realization conditions have been presented. It has been shown that the organization of information and cognitive activity including stages of designing, projecting and modeling, as well as developed and introduced pedagogical providing, promotes an increase of pupils research competence formation level.

The academics’ research activity is predetermined in the Law of Ukraine «On Higher Education». Research activity possesses purpose, object, subject, motives, activity of the subject, means, result of activity described in the article. It was emphasized that results of research activities include academic’s scientific discoveries, masters’ and dissertation papers defended under his supervision, and the effectiveness in organization of educational and initiative research activities for students. Research competence is the personal quality that provides academic with knowledge and comprehension in research activities, ways of presenting scientific results and their use in the educational process. The basis for research competence is the cognitive, activity, value, communicative components While developing academic’s research competence there are following stages: initial, formation, productive functioning. After each stage there may be stagnation period (fading research activity). The main principles for academics’ research activity competence development, namely functional unity, continuity, variability, voluntariness, openness, transnationality are defined and revealed. The indicators for academics’ research competence components development are offered: completeness of knowledge, forming the core of cognitive component; the level of formation of abilities necessary for conducting scientific research, processing, proving reliability, designing and presentation of its results, establishing communication links; the attitude to research activity as a motivator for the performance of professional duties and important factor for ensuring the quality of higher education; the ability to apply the results of scientific research in the educational process and organization and management of research activities of applicants for higher education. The highest level of academic’s research competence development is the foundation of scientific school.

In the article the definitional analysis of the concept of «information competence» is performed and the author’s own definition of this term is formulated. Based on the theoretical analysis of the study of this problem, the main components of the concept are determined from the point of view of information competence as a component of research. The main components of the general competence of a teacher-researcher, as well as the interdependence of professionalism, information and research competence are determined. The most effective technologies for the formation of information competence in future Ph.Ds. are justified. The relevance of the acquisition of future Ph.D’s. information competence in the conditions of research activity has been proved. The main skills of a future Ph.D. in the context of information competence were revealed, determining their readiness to work in the new conditions of informatization of education. Based on the synthesis of the analyzed scientific views on the structure of information competence and taking into account the research aspect, the structural analysis of information competence was implemented.

This report presents the main components of a system for the model-based control of aerobic biological wastewater treatment plants. The crucial component is a model which is linked to the actual processes via several interfaces and which contains a unit which can immediately follow up the current process state. The simulation calculation of the model is based on data which are yielded by on-line measuring devices. If the sensors should fail at times, there are available a number of alternative concepts, some of which are based on the calculations of artificial neural networks or linear methods.

The main components of case-based reasoning are case retrieval and case reuse. While case retrieval mostly uses attribute comparisons, many other possibilities exist. The case similarity concepts described in the literature that are based on more elaborate structural properties are classified here into five groups: restricted geometric relationships; graphs; semantic nets; model-based similarities; hierarchically structured similarities. Some general topics conclude this survey on structure-based case retrieval methods and systems.

The aim: The article examines the health-saving competencies of fitness technologies usage during physical education classes. Materials and methods: Experimental work was carried out in three stages, each of which was characterized by certain goals and objectives, corresponding forms and methods of research organization. To determine the formation of each of the studied components, we used complex of valid diagnostic techniques. Results: Implementation of the methodological system significantly influenced on general level of motivational, cognitive, activity and reflexive component formation, which significantly improved, compared with the students of control groups who studied under the traditional system. Evaluation of students’ competence in applying fitness technologies showed a high efficiency of the introduced methodological system. Conclusions: The introduced methodical system of fitness technologies application contributed to increase of the level of students’ preparedness by criteria of organizational, communicative, perceptual, speech abilities to fitness technologies, general cultural level, social activity and their involvement in healthy lifestyle. At the same time, the formation of competences in fitness technology usage contributed to the creation of new content of the main components of the methodological system.

According to the primary school natural science education curricula cognitive activity has to be diverse and its content must be permanently changed. It is purposeful to supplement the educational process with children’s literature, music, folklore, acting, drawing and games (General Curricula and Education Standards, 2003). Game is one of the most universal and efficient child’s primary education strategies. Creative and orientated combination of game and artistic activities in the process of natural science education enables to seek that primary school students both perceive the environment as the aesthetic totality and get used to take care of it, both notice the beauty of nature phenomena and objects and feel the need to take care of nature, both perceive the interdependence of animate and inanimate nature and feel the interrelation of nature with various arts and artistic activities. Observation is the activity that is accessible to primary class pupils and serves as a basis for more complex steps in the teaching and learning process. Because the observation of the nearest environment can be strongly encouraged by the wish to depict the objects of the nearest environment in various ways, this article presents the examples of games employing depiction means, which not only integrate natural science education and artistic education but also promote active cognitive environmental research activity. Key words: primary education, cognitive activity, game employing depiction means.

This chapter about how to involve students of biologists in research work, using benefits of applied zoology. The first part of the chapter provides the overview of such questions as research activity of students, methods and conditions of its forming, feature for students of biologists. The second part is devoted to the step-by-step organization of research activity according to levels of readiness of students. Much attention in this part is paid to questions of applied zoology: directions and objects of researches; structure and content of laboratory works, scientific and practical and research projects; uniform approach to use of techniques of researches in field and laboratory conditions. For assessment of results of researches and formation of research competence of students such methods as rating system, a portfolio, methods of expert estimates are offered.

This article considers the issue of accustoming primary school students to research activities and basically focuses on information technology, which is the main tool for increasing cognitive activity. We define joint creative activities of teacher and student, which are carried out in seeking the solution of the unknown problem defined as an academic goal of students, and as a result of which cultural values are passed on as research activities. In this case, the teacher acts as the organiser of the forms and situations of research activity. It is insufficient for school children just to make a decision in solving the problems occurring in academic goals, the results achieved in the implementation process should be helpful for someone. From this point of view, the issue of molding a motivation, which permanently leads the student to master study-research skills, will be on the agenda.

The article analyzes the structural and content organization of multimedia educational complexes from different disciplines. On the basis of the conducted analysis the interface of the multimedia educational complex on the discipline "Theory of color" was designed. It was found out that for the implementation of various methods of educational and cognitive activity within the framework of the multimedia complex from "Theory of color", the structuring of the educational material of discipline at certain levels - illustrative-descriptive, reproductive and creative. The study briefly examines the content load of these main components of the presentation of educational content. The technological features of organizing the process of checking students' knowledge on the discipline «Theory of Color» are analyzed in detail. Appropriate templates have been proposed to evaluate the test results.
