The concept of clarity and the closely related idea of colour were of great importance not only for the formulation of classical ideas connected with the theory of beaux arts, but also for the creation of concepts related to the ancient academic and philosophical discourse, mainly via the use of light/shadow/colour metaphors to express and envisage the problems discussed. These were of special importance for what is commonly referred to as ancient literary aesthetics, which is the product of ideas originating in classical philosophical literary theory, practice and critique. It is to this very area of aesthetic and literary meanings of clarity that I would like to devote the present paper. However, the bulk of preserved testimonies, both direct (i.e. directly and normatively formulated) and indirect (i.e. resulting from the immanent poetics of the work), as well as the fact that they are multi-layered, compel me to narrow my analysis to the concept of clarity (σαφήνεια, claritas) as a stylistic category in ancient rhetoric and poetics, based exclusively on concepts expressed by classical Greek and Latin authors.

This article analyzes the obstacles that hinder the reconstruction of the processes of institutionalization and internationalization of literary studies in Argentina within the framework of the project International Cooperation in the Social-Sciences and Humanities: Comparative Socio-Historical Perspectives and Future Possibilities, directed by Gisèle Sapiro. These obstacles were negotiated partly through the creation of two categories: “stories” and “fantasies of nano-intervention.” The article introduces these categories, along with some examples that enable reflection on the factors that impede or condition the international circulation of literary theory.

THOU ART is an interdisciplinary and christological aesthetics that theorizes an integral relation among Christ, representation, and the formation of human subjectivity. Through a critical poetics it addresses the space of difference between a theological discourse on the creation of human being in the image of God—understood as creation in Christ, Word (logos) incarnate—and a philosophical discourse on the constitution of human subjectivity.

To enable pedagogic specialists to meet the requirements of these fast changes, they often need to go through additional training and qualifications to acquire additional skills and competencies, as well as share good practice to educate digital citizens. Pedagogical specialists should develop creativity, analytical thinking, and teamwork skills in children. The article discusses interactive pedagogical skills in the context of the modern qualification process. The technology of interactive training is based on the phenomenon of interaction, which gives the special importance of pedagogical communication, manifesting itself as an interaction, where the tendencies for "cooperation" or the active participation of the participants in the training programs deserve attention. The exemplary model of interactive technology for training pedagogical specialists includes the description of several groups of methods that help improve the interactive skills. Interactive communication involves the creation of a dynamic area, changing space, depending on the skills of pedagogical specialists. Interactive skills are presented in detail and show the variety of techniques and technologies used in the learning process. Technology is developed for specific pedagogical work and is based on a specific methodology to build a system of actions between teacher and student to increase efficiency and interactivity. The development of the individuality of each student and the upbringing of his personality are in a situation of play. The use of interactive learning methods allows the creation of life situations, joint problem solving. There is equal communication between learner and trainer based on dialogue and negotiation. For this reason, interactivity most often within one class is achieved through group work. Several interesting concepts are known about the stages in skill development. They outline five key stages in the gradual structuring of skills, which are detailed presented. The article ends with an example of good pedagogical practice, conducted with students in 3rd and 4th grade from Varna, Bulgaria. The Mind Map method is presented.

The article explores one of the most remarkable and dynamic phenomena of modern technoculture – video games. It reconstructs the genesis of the philosophical discourse on video games, exposing the main difficulties arising in making the definitions. Special importance is attached to the critical comparative analysis of the major strategies for the philosophical explication of video games. With the aid of the method of comparative-historical reconstruction and a structuralist approach, the essential correlations between the essential definition of a video game and the ontological systems of Plato, the Gnostics, G. Berkeley, E. Kant, as well as post-modern philosophy was established. The research results in formulating a model-integrative definition of a video game.

Currently, there is not yet a full-fledged philosophical sub-discipline devoted to artifacts. In order to establish such a general philosophical discourse on artifacts, two topics are of special importance: artifact functionality and artifact categorization. Both are central to the question of what artifacts are in general and in particular. This introduction first presents the current state of the art in the debates on functions, both in general and in the domain of artifacts in particular. It then unfolds the three debates relevant for artifact kinds, namely the ontological, epistemological and semantic debates on artifact categorization, and presents the most important theory options currently under scrutiny in these fields. It proceeds by introducing the contributions in this special issue on the functions and kinds of art works and other artifacts, and discusses possible perspectives for a general philosophy of artifacts.

In this article the tension in 20th century literary theory between absolutism and relativism is discussed. It is argued that, in spite of a movement from absolutism towards relativism, the age-old “absolute” values of truth, beauty and goodness have never been totally forsaken in the creation and the contemplation of literature. In an analysis of “Drought” by Jan Rabie, it is indicated how these values are implied and invoked in Rabie's short story. In conclusion, the fundamental value of love or charity is discussed, a value which contains and supersedes the values of truth, beauty and goodness, and reconciles the tension between absolutism and relativism.

The mirror as blind mouth: The poetry of Breyten Breytenbach The representation of reality, the word and the relationship between signifier and signified is the main theme of this article. In the poetry of the Afrikaans poet, Breyten Breytenbach, representation and “reality” are concerns constantly reflected on. The poem “drome is ook wonde” (“dreams are wounds as well”) can be read as a central “ars poetica” of Breytenbach’s work. Although it is a love poem it can also be read as literary theory, but not the same kind of theory as in, for example, Horace’s or Alexander Pope’s work. The poem discussed in this article does not deal with poetry as such, and what poetry should attempt to do; it is a presentation, the poetics being its representation. Breytenbach theorises an “epistemology of reading” in which the intuitive faculty of the reader – more than the cognitive – will guide the creation of meaning, and where the signifying value of the metaphor is beyond logical meaning. With the awareness of the impossibility of portraying reality by means of the poetic word, the mirror and mirror image acquire a meaningful function. For Leonardo (see Gombrich, 1986:5) the mirror was the painter’s master; the artist is the maker of mirrors, and then also the maker of dreams. The creation of a second reality, however, has boundaries because of the limitation of the poet’s medium. The creation then becomes more meaningful than the imitation, the presentation than the representation. After the analysis of Breytenbach’s poem one may come to the same conclusion as Lyotard (1984:81) concerning postmodern aesthetics which “ … allows the unpresentable to be put forward only as the missing contents; but the form … continues to offer to the reader … matter for solace and pleasure”.

The article shows the situation of literary historians, their social role and tasks in the contemporary literary theory. The author presents opinions on the discipline expressed by such experienced researchers as Kazimierz Wyka, Teresa Kostkiewiczowa, Włodzimierz Bolecki, and she askes how the students of literary studies perceive the history of literature. She writes about difficulties, dilemmas and quandaries associated with the work of contemporary literature researchers who are interested in old literature. She shows some examples of studies where historical imagery has become a foundation for the creation of numerous associations combining antiquity and modernity, where it allowed to see the polar character of references and follow-ups, as well as to describe the variability of creative endeavors and realisations in literature, and finally to reveal moments of coexistence of dichotomous phenomena. The author presents the dramaturgy of work of literary historians’ who are entangled in multilevel determinants of the historical world, which they investigate, and the present one, which they experience.

The article investigates the origins of the idea of religious-philosophical discourse in the doctrine of the living. Based on the analysis of ancient philosophical thought and the subsequent, based on it, views of early Christian thinkers, a perspective is formed on the idea of the living as a special type of religious-philosophical discourse based on the principles of creationism, theocentrism and subordinationism. It is concluded that early Christian religious philosophy supported and affirmed the ideas of the value of the living as the creation of God, a trembling attitude toward it, adoring any manifestation of life, giving it spiritual and moral dimensions.

From the point of view of economic activity, entrepreneurship is seen as the direction of economic resources into profitable business projects. The article presents the relationship between entrepreneurship, innovation and the creation of organizational competencies. Among the features of entrepreneurial orientation, innovation and proactivity are of special importance for the functioning of enterprises. The purpose of the study is to determine the impact of entrepreneurship on the formation of organizational competencies and substantiate the idea that the innovative abilities of the enterprise are a manifestation of its inherent competencies. It is substantiated that entrepreneurial activity is a risky activity. However, its results are manifested in the form of new products, production methods or forms of business organization. That is, entrepreneurship can be equated with innovation. It is proved that the main goal of entrepreneurial strategy is to find opportunities for strategic development, with an emphasis on implemented innovations. The dynamics of strategic entrepreneurship is based on the interaction of development opportunities, strategic partnerships and competencies. Organizational competencies are created in the process of training and operation of the enterprise. The highest rank in their hierarchy belongs to key competencies as a unique combination of knowledge, technology and skills. It is noted that the intensification of entrepreneurial activity and change of competencies are related to the life cycle of enterprises. At different stages of the life cycle, the company, adapting to changes in the external environment, also changes its competencies. Considering the possibilities of self-renewal of the organization, four possible innovative strategies of enterprises are analyzed, taking into account aspects of entrepreneurship: organizational knowledge management; discovery (exploration); inter-organizational cooperation business strategies related to the creation of resources outside the organization. The evolution of views on models and processes related to innovation and entrepreneurship is presented. It is emphasized that both entrepreneurship and innovation are related to the processes of internationalization of enterprises in the world market. They also have their own regional and local features.
