Substantiates the effectiveness of using the «Melodance» technique as a means of physical activity that increases well-being, activity and mood, improves physical condition and the desire for a healthy lifestyle. The results of our own research have shown that the Melodance technique has a wide potential as a means of physical activity and strengthening the physical and psychological health of a person, as well as forming an attitude towards a healthy lifestyle. The prospects for the application of this technique are shown.

The long-term observations of leading endocrinologists, cardiologists, and gastroenterologists all over the world have shown that the quality of medical care and the level of the patient’s knowledge about alimentary-dependent diseases significantly affect their course and prognosis. As a part of the classes at the Children’s Health School, the interns of the 1st and 2nd years of study give interactive classes for the child patients and their parents on the prevention of diseases and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle, namely nutrition, physical activity, psychological health, work and rest regimes, personal hygiene, etc. Taking into account the conducted classes, such training can be argued to be useful and necessary both for children for the purpose of obtaining new educational knowledge and for interns in order to learn and develop communicative skills.

This research was conducted as a descriptive study to determine the healthy lifestyle behaviors of high school students. The schools located in Rize Province were grouped (n: 9926). The number of samples was determined to be 370 according to the sample width formula, which is known as the number of individuals in the phase. A total of 449 volunteer students were selected from a high school in each group by simple random sampling method and the study was completed. To collect data, the personal information form and healthy lifestyle behaviors scale II, which were developed by the researcher, were used. The data were evaluated using percentile, ANOVA and t test. It was determined that the average score of healthy lifestyle behaviors scale II scores of the students was moderate with 128.06 ± 20.19. The average score of female students' health responsibility and interpersonal relationship scores were higher than male students (p <0.05). The average physical activity score of male students was found to be higher than that of female students (p <0.05). A significant positive correlation between the age of the students and the class with 'interpersonal relations' and the total score was found (p <0.05). The acquisition of positive health behaviors during the adolescence period is important to perform healthy behaviors in the future life of the individual. As a result of this study, it is suggested that education programs should be established to protect and improve the health of the students. Also, education should develop the self-efficacy of the students. Evrende birey sayısı bilinen örneklem genişliği formülüne göre örneklem sayısı 370 olarak belirlenmiş, her gruptaki birer liseden basit rastgele örneklem yöntemiyle toplam 449 gönüllü öğrenci ile çalışma tamamlanmıştır.  Verilerin toplanmasında, araştırmacı tarafından oluşturulan kişisel bilgi formu ve sağlıklı yaşam biçimi davranışları ölçeği II kullanılmıştır. Veriler bilgisayar ortaminda yüzdelik, ANOVA ve t testi kullanılarak değerlendirilmiştir.Öğrencilerin sağlıklı yaşam biçimi davranışları ölçeği puan ortalamasının 128.06±20.19 ile orta düzeyde olduğu belirlenmiştir. Kız öğrencilerin sağlık sorumluluğu ve kişilerarası ilişkiler puan ortalaması erkek öğrencilerin puan ortalamasından yüksek bulunmuştur(p<0.05). Erkek öğrencilerin fiziksel aktivite puan ortalaması, kız öğrencilerin puan ortalamasından yüksek bulunmuştur(p<0.05). Öğrencilerin yaşı ve sınıf ile ‘kişilerarası ilişkiler’ ve toplam puan arasında pozitif yönde anlamlı ilişki saptanmıştır (p<0.05).Adölesan döneminde olumlu sağlık davranışlarının kazanılması bireyin ileriki yaşamında sağlıklı davranışlar gerçekleştirmesi açısından önem taşımaktadır. Bu çalışma sonucunda öğrencilerin sağlıklarını korumak ve geliştirmek için eğitim programları oluşturulması ve eğitimin özellikle öz- etkililiği geliştirici olması ve daha çok düşük puan alınan alanlara ve okullara göre yapılması önerilmektedir.

Body mass index (BMI) is an indicator to detect weight category and known to influence the academic achievements of students. The present study assesses the association of BMI, physical activity with academic performance among undergraduate female students of health colleges, King Khalid University (KKU). Responses from 379 participants were analyzed in the study. Data collection was done by administering an online questionnaire using the university website portal. The questionnaire consists of two sections: the first section includes demographic information along with cumulative Grade point average (GPA) and another section rated student’s physical activity. A high frequency of respondents (53.6%) ranged within the normal BMI category. For academic performance, the majority (79.9%) of students reported high GPA scores with a mean of 4.28 ± 0.41. Upon correlation, academic performance was found negatively correlated with BMI at 0.0001 level of significance, and insignificantly correlated with physical activity. The present study observed that more than half of the respondents had normal BMI. An inverse relationship was observed between BMI and academic performance, showing participants within the normal BMI category achieved significantly higher GPA. In contrast, physical activity directly influenced the academic performance of the subjects. Therefore, the study suggests to enact counselling centers, health clubs in universities urging the students to adopt regular exercise and healthy lifestyle which could prepare them in achieving future endeavors.

This chapter discusses mindfulness as it applies to integrative preventive medicine. Defining mindfulness as the awareness that arises through intentionally attending in an open, caring, and discerning way, the chapter proposes three core mindfulness elements: intention, attention, and attitude. It explores the potential application of mindfulness to primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention. The chapter looks at the impact of mindfulness on health promotion and examines mindfulness as a secondary prevention strategy, particularly in hypertension and diabetes. It then addresses tertiary prevention and the impact of mindfulness in chronic disease. Lastly, mindfulness as a preventive strategy for psychological well-being is explored. Overall, there is strong evidence suggesting that mindfulness is positively associated with healthy lifestyle as well as improvements in depressive symptoms, stress, anxiety, quality of life, physical outcomes, and positive psychological health.

ABSTRACT   Anemia is a condition where the hemoglobin (Hb) level in the blood is less than normal. Young women have ten times greater risk of anemia. Anemia can cause fatigue, learning concentration decreases so learning achievement is low, if not handled properly it will continue into adulthood and can increase maternal and infant mortality. The purpose of this community service is to train female students to avoid anemia which can endanger women's reproductive health, especially during pregnancy. Community service was carried out on Maret 1and 16  2018. The method in this service at the first meeting conducted counseling and training on how to deal with anemia, as well as HB examinations to participants. At the second meeting with an interval of 1 week an evaluation of how to treat anemia and Hb examination was conducted. The results of this activity are 99% of students able to repeat how to properly manage healthy eating patterns, and 100% of students who have anemia are no longer anemic. Anemia is still a health problem in Indonesia, this anemia can be caused by the habit of frequently consuming less nutritious foods. Prevention of anemia by regulating diet and a healthy lifestyle is very helpful to overcome anemia. The faster the precaution is taken, the anemia will not worsen the health condition of adolescents in the future.   Keywords: Response, Prevent, Anemia   ABSTRAK   Anemia adalah suatu keadaan dimana kadar hemoglobin (Hb) dalam darah kurang dari normal. Remaja putri memiliki risiko sepuluh kali lebih besar untuk menderita anemia. Anemia dapat menyebabkan lekas lelah, konsentrasi belajar menurun sehingga prestasi belajar rendah, jika tidak ditangani dengan baik akan berlanjut hingga dewasa dan dapat meningkatkan angka kematian ibu, dan bayi. Tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini untuk melatih siswi agar terhindar dari anemia yang dapat membahayakan kesehatan reproduksi wanita, khususnya saat kehamilan. Pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan pada tanggal 1 dan 16 Maret 2018. Metode dalam pengabdian ini pada pertemuan pertama melakukan penyuluhan dan pelatihan cara mengatasi anemia, serta pemeriksaan HB kepada peserta. Pada pertemuan kedua dengan selang waktu 1 minggu dilakukan evaluasi cara mengatasi anemia dan pemeriksaan Hb. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalh 99% siswa mampu mengulangi cara mengatur pola makan yang sehat dengan benar, dan 100% siswa yang mengalami anemia sudah tidak mengalami anemia lagi. Anemia masih menjadi masalah kesehatan di Indonesia, anemia ini dapat disebabkan oleh kebiasaan sering mengkonsumsi makanan yang kurang bergizi. Pencegahan anemia dengan cara pengaturan pola makan dan pola hidup sehat sangat membantu mengatasi anemia. Semakin cepat tindakan pencegahan dilakukan maka anemia tidak akan  memperburuk kondisi kesehatan remaja dimasa yang akan datang.   Kata Kunci: Tanggap, Cegah, Anemia

Background: According to a national survey in 2014, the prevalence of overweight and obesity among Saudi women is reaching 33.5%. Instead of adopting healthy lifestyle, this population may adopt some weight management practices (WMP) which might be unhealthy and some could lead to serious health issues. Aim: To compare lifestyle patterns and WMP adopted by obese and normal weight Saudi females by assessing the difference in energy and macronutrients intake, dietary habits, level of physical activity and WMP. Methods: Through a cross-sectional study among female students at Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University (PNU) (Riyadh – KSA.), 200 participants were conveniently selected, assigned in two groups: in obese and normal weight (each group have 100 students), based on their BMI, according to the WHO cut-off values. Data collected, through questionnaire and analysis, were analyzed using SPSS program. Chi-square and t-test were used to assess the difference between the two groups. Results: Unhealthy WMP were high among obese students. Total calorie intake was not different; however, fat intake was higher in obese group (p<0.01). Level of moderate active was higher in normal group than obese group (33% versus 19%, respectively). Food frequency consumption showed that fruit, date, and dressing were higher in obese group compared to normal weight group (p-value = 0.02, 0.01 and 0.03). Conclusions: Obese PNU female students adopt unhealthy WMP besides their inadequate nutritional intake and unhealthy dietary habits. Increasing awareness about the healthy lifestyle to manage weight is urgently needed. Keywords: Weight practice management, obesity, female university students, Saudi Arabia.

Purpose: Youth is considered a crucial period for launching positive health and social behaviours. It is a life stage when young people are experiencing rapid emotional, physical and intellectual changes, and when they begin the transition from childhood to adolescence to independent adulthood. The increasing prevalence of overweight and obesity worldwide urged the authors to study the sociodemographic factors that might work as causal factors for obesity among young Saudi female university students. The study aimed at unveiling the causes of obesity among this group and to find out the association of normal and overweight with socio-demographic variables.Material and Method: A total of 500 female students were participated in this study from February to Novembers 2015. Weight and height were measured to determine the Body mass Index (BMI), the socio-demographic variables were examined by using sociodemographic form. Data was gathered from female students (N=500) enrolled in bachelors program during the period of November 2014-October 2015.Results: The findings of the BMI measurements had shown that there is 54% of the university students were in the normal weight whose BMI is 24 or below and 35% were showing a BMI that is over 24 and were in the range of overweight or obesity.Conclusion: This study concluded that there is an urgent need for guidance of university students regarding a healthy lifestyle and for fostering physical activity and nutrition programs on the campus to reduce and to keep the healthy weight.

Актуальность статьи обусловлена необходимостью поиска эффективных путей сохранения психологического здоровья специалистов. Авторами выявлена статистическая взаимосвязь между показателями психологического здоровья и гармоничностью психологической культуры, что позволяет рассматривать ее в качестве педагогического условия развития профессионально-личностных ресурсов. Психологическая культура представлена как интегративное образование личности профессионала, объединяющее психолого-акмеологическое содержание и аспекты смысложизненной и профессиональной направленности, личностно-профессиональных качеств и отношений, обеспечивающих творческую актуализацию, продуктивность деятельности, удовлетворённость трудом и взаимодействием. Реализация предложенных рекомендаций позволит обеспечить коррекцию личностных установок на здоровый образ жизни, оптимизировать психологический статус, снизить неблагоприятное влияние стресогенных факторов, актуализировать стремления к самореализации. Статья предназначена для специалистов в сфере психолого-педагогического сопровождения образовательного процесса, преподавателей и научных сотрудников военных вузов, курсантов, слушателей и адъюнктов, интересующихся проблемами личностного роста, сохранения и укрепления психологического здоровья. The relevance of the article is caused due to the need to find constructive ways to preserve the psychological health of specialists. The authors identified a statistical relationship between indicators of psychological health and the harmony of psychological culture, which makes it possible to consider it as a pedagogical condition for the development of professional and personal resources. Psychological culture is presented as an integrative trait of the personality of a professional, combining the psychological and acmeological content as well as aspects of the meaning of life and professional orientation, personal and professional qualities and relationships that provide creative self-realization, productiveness of activity, satisfaction with work and interactions. The implementation of the proposed recommendations will ensure the correction of personal attitude towards a healthy lifestyle, optimize the psychological status, reduce the adverse effect of stress factors, and actualize the desire for self-realization. The article is intended for specialists in the field of psychological and pedagogical support of the educational process, teachers and researchers of military universities, cadets, students and adjuncts interested in the problems of personal growth, preservation and strengthening of psychological health.
