Tour De Singkarak is the name of an international bicycle race competition held by the government of West Sumatra Province since 2009 ago. The event was held as one of the West Sumatra government efforts to promote tourism and attract tourist visits. The central government through the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy supports the implementation of this grand event. Every year the number of participants and countries participating in this event increases. One of them is influenced by the increasing nominal prize that can be accepted by the participants. The implementation of TDS events cost not a little, in 2013 the TDS budget reached 4.5 billion Rupiahs. The TDS event was held in West Sumatra to show the world about the tourism potential of West Sumatra. West Sumatra has diverse natural tourism potentials, some of which are part of TDS, among others: Lake Singkarak, Equatorial Bonjol Monument, Harau Valley, Rajo Baso Palace (Pagaruyung), Maninjau Lake (kelok 44), Jam Gadang, Padang Pariaman Beach, Lake Kandis, Lake Kembar, and Beaches on Pesisir Selatan. Most of the TDS stages pass through tourist attractions with extraordinary beauty. Until the last event in 2013, the TDS event had not been considered to provide a continuous contribution to the 3 main aspects, economic, social and environmental in West Sumatra. It is undeniable that this event increases the attractiveness of tourism in West Sumatra in the eyes of the International, but this acquisition is not sustainable and cannot meet the requirements of sustainability. COVID-19 has imposed mandatory lockdowns in many countries including India. However, since the lockdown has been imposed, attention is being focused on its economic repercussions and on providing food and shelter to poor and migrants. But the pandemic has exposed vulnerabilities and created challenges at other fronts too. More specifically, women’s lack of autonomy in the patriarchal homes is further getting reduces when today, `homes’ which are no longer merely seen as comfort zones, but during the lockdown, homes are evolving as spaces where people are working from home and earning their livelihoods, children are attending classes and other activities are being coordinated. Violence in such homes against women and children is rising during the lockdown. Women and children trapped within homes with the perpetrators of violence are facing severe abuse. In order to combat the situation and to make homes as safe zones, special measures are required. The government needs to declare domestic violence as `essential services’ and must take steps to provide immediate relief to women and children. In the long term, the need is to address entrenched structural discrimination in order to ensure gender equality within homes. Lockdowns may be interpreted in different ways. One is to lockdown our collective imaginations and allow the pre-existing stereotypical gender notions to continue and reiterate, or it could be, to isolate the world from the patriarchal notions and to reimagine a violence free gender just world.

The present study attempted to examine the recent effects of FDI on India's economic growth in the Make in India initiative (MII) launched by the government. The trends of FDI inflows in India showed that when the CAGR of FDI inflows was -2.78 percent from 2008 to 2014 (pre-Make in India), the CAGR of FDI inflows was 8.54 percent between 2014 to 2020 (Post-Make in India). Further, the OLS results showed that the variables such as FDI inflows, trade openness, and exchange rate significantly impact India's economic growth. The dummy variable that stood for the Make in India initiative had a statistically significant impact on growth. The predictions about FDI inflows showed an upward trajectory since 2021-2022, which suggested that India may have further scope to attract more FDI into the country if they continue to do reforms like before and enhance competitiveness, and FDI may have a long-term impact on GDP.

To be eligible licensed physicians and nurses should, (a) qualify in focused interview aimed to evaluate both interest and commitment to provide primary palliative care following the training, (b) Agree to complete all the required surveys. Results: 46/53 (86%) completed the pre and post surveys. 50/53 (94%) participants completed the course and passed the certification exam. Median age (IQR) was 31 (27, 41). 53% were female and 53% were physicians. Median reported knowledge (1-5) for pain, fatigue, delirium, medical ethics were 4,3,2,2.5 before training Vs 5 (P=0.001), 5 (P=0.001), 5 (P=0.001), 5 (P=0.001) after training respectively. All other core areas improved significantly. All participants noted satisfaction with faculty as high (5/5). Conclusions: Conducting a six weeks standardized residential training course in PC for physicians and nurses in India is feasible. There was a significant improvement in self-reported knowledge of all components of palliative care curriculum. Long term impact studies are needed.
