Purpose: Physical examination is a key component of child health management. Migrant children are a vulnerable group with lower healthcare service utilization, and this study aims to explore the effect of parental social integration on the physical examination service utilization for young migrant children under 6 years old in China.Method: This study conducted a secondary data analysis of the 2014 National Internal Migrant Dynamic Monitoring Survey in China. A total of 2,620 participants were included in this study. A total of 22 indicators were selected to measure social integration. Multivariate logistic regression was used to explore the association between parental social integration and physical examination use of young migrant children. Results: More than half (66.4%) of the migrant children aged 0–6 years had used free physical examination. Parental social integration, especially structural integration, was associated with the physical examination utilization of migrant children. Specifically, those migrant children's parents who had medical insurance (P < 0.05; OR = 1.29), who had participated in local activities (P < 0.001; OR = 1.98), who had registered local residents as neighbors (P < 0.05; OR = 1.34), and who had a deep sense of self-identity (P < 0.05; OR = 1.09) were more likely to take children to use physical examination. Conclusions: This study provided evidence that parental social integration was associated with migrant children's physical examination utilization, and this association was multifaceted, lying in the dimensions of economic, structural, and psychological integration. Improving the social integration of migrant parents would be effective to enhance the migrant children's healthcare service utilization.

Abstract Background This study represents figures from a cardiac care unit (CCU) of a university hospital; it describes an example of a tertiary academic center in Egypt and provides an epidemiological view of the female HF patients, their risk profile, and short-term outcome during hospitalization. Results It is a local single-center cross-sectional observational registry of CCU patients 1 year from July 2015 to July 2016. Patient’s data were collected through a special software program. Women with evidence of HF were thoroughly studied. Among the 1006 patients admitted to CCU in 1 year, 345 (34.2%) patients were females and 118 (34.2%) had evidence of HF, whereas 661 (65.7%) were males and 178 (26.9%) of them had HF. Women with HF showed 11.7% prevalence of the total population admitted to CCU. 72.7% were HFrEF and 27.3% were HFpEF. Compared to men, women with HF were older in age, more obese, less symptomatic than men, had higher incidence of associated co-morbidities, less likely to be re-admitted for HF, and less likely to have ACS and PCI. Valvular heart diseases and cardiomyopathies were the commonest etiologies of their HF. Women had more frequent normal ECG, higher EF%, and smaller LA size. There is no difference in medications and CCU procedures. While females had shorter stay, there is no significant difference in hospital mortality compared to male patients. Conclusions Despite higher prevalence of HF in females admitted to CCU and different clinical characteristics and etiology of HF, female gender was associated with similar prognosis during hospital course compared to male gender.

Abstract Background Men involvement is one of the important factors in family planning (FP) service utilization. Their limitation in the family planning program causes a decrease in service utilization as well as the discontinuation of the method which eventually leads to failure of the program. Family planning uptake is low but there is no enough study conducted on the parameters of husband involvement in Ethiopia. Hence, this study focused to assess men’s involvement in family planning service utilization in Kondala district, western Ethiopia. Methods Community based comparative cross-sectional study design was employed in urban and rural kebeles of kondala district using quantitative and qualitative data collection tools. The multi-stage sampling method was employed to select 370 participants from each of the four urban and eight rural kebeles. Logistic regression analysis was used to identify variables that affect husbands’ involvement in FP service utilization. Statistical significance was declared at p-value of < 0.05 with 95% confidence interval (CI) and strength of association was reported by odds ratio (OR). Results The study showed that 203(55.6%) men from urban and 178(48.8%) from rural were involved in FP service utilization. The median age of the respondents was 36+ 8.5 years (IQR: 27.5–44.5) in urban and 35 years (IQR: 25–45) in rural parts. Respondents who had four and above current children (AOR = 3.25, 95%CI = 1.51–7.02) in urban and (AOR = 4.20, 95%CI = 1.80–9.79) in rural were positively associated with men’s involvement in FP service utilization. In the urban setting, being government employee (AOR = 2.58, 95%CI = 1.25–5.33), wishing less than two children (AOR = 3.08, 95%CI = 1.80–5.24) and having a better attitude towards FP methods (AOR = 1.86, 95%CI = 1.16–2.99) were positively associated with FP service utilization. While good educational background (AOR = 2.13, 95%CI = 1.02–4.44), short distance from home to health facility (AOR = 2.29, 95%CI = 1.24–4.19) and having better knowledge (AOR = 4.49, 95%CI = 2.72–7.38) were positively associated with men involvement in FP service utilization in the rural area. Conclusion Low involvement of men in family planning service utilization was reported in both settings. Factors associated with husbands’ involvement were varied between the two setups, except for the current number of children. Future FP program should incorporate infrastructure associated with the health facility, knowledge, and attitudinal factors.

This study ( N = 780) examines the indirect effects of hardiness—health locus of control (HLOC), health competence (HC), health value (HV)—on past-year healthcare provider visit via attitudes toward seeking and receiving professional healthcare services (ATSRPHS). Across four health domains (dental, general health, mental, vision), ATSRPHS mediated the indirect effect of (1) HV and (2) internal HLoC on past-year healthcare provider visit. ATSRPHS also mediated the indirect effect of external HLoC on past-year visit to healthcare provider visit for general medical, mental, and vision health. ATSRPHS did not mediate any indirect effect of HC on past-year healthcare provider visit. This research contributes to understanding determinants of healthcare service utilization among Black American adults.

Introduction: Interleukin L-17 is produced by Th 17 cells and other cells. There is a debate if IL 17 is atherogenic or atheroprotective. The true role of this interleukin during the development and progression of the coronary artery disease is not known. Objective: To evaluate if there are differences between the IL17 A serum levels according to clinical presentation of the coronary artery disease. Methods: This is a cross sectional study which enrolled 101 patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS), 100 patients with chronic coronary syndrome (CCS) and 100 healthy volunteers. Blood samples were taken from patients ( at admission) and controls to analysis the level of IL17A. Clinical characteristics were collected through questionnaires. This research was approved by ethical committee. Results: Comparisons of the clinical characteristics between patients with ACS and CCS revealed: mean age ( 62 ± 12.4 vs 63.3 ± 9.8, p = 0.4 ), male (63.4% vs 58%, p = 0.4) hypertension (85.1% vs 79%, p = 0.1) , disyipidemia (48% vs 31%, p =0.01), Diabetes Mellitus (47.5% vs 41%, p = 0.3), previous myocardial infarction (57.4% vs 40%, p = 0,01), smoking (29.7% vs 38%, p = 1). The peripheral concentrations of IL17A according to ACS, CCS and controls were: 5.36 ± 8.83 vs 6.69 ± 17.92 vs 6.26 ± 11.13, p = 0.6. Besides, the comparison between ACS and CCS showed: 5.36 ± 8.83 vs 6.69 ± 17.92, p = 0.3. Conclusion: The main finding os this study was that the circulating IL 17 concentrations were similar in patients with ACS, CCS and healthy volunteers). Besides, there was no difference between patients with ACS and CCS. Therefore, our hypothesis is that in patients with ACS and CCS the circulating IL 17 A concentrations are low or undetectable.
