Ninety infants were selected stratified proportionally random sampling and they met the inclusion criteria. Iron status was determined by the serum ferritin level concentration. The nutritional status was determined by the body weight to age based on the standard criteria of WHO NCHS. The quality of food was defined by asking the parents to keep a diary of consumed in the last 7 days minimally for three days. Out of the 90 infants, 50.4 % of them were males and 45.6 % of them were females. Most of them (93.7%) had normal nourished and 8.3 % had undernourished. The prevalence status of low iron was 18.9%. The low iron status began to occur at the age of 4 – 6 months old (6%) and the highest at the age of 9 – 12 months old (65%). Statistically significant differences were found between the iron status and the quality of food supplements over age group. The low quality of food is a risk factor influence the status of low iron. It is suggested that the iron supplements be given to breast-fed infant at the age of 4 – 6 months old.

Digestion process begins not in the stomach, but directly in the oral cavity as a result of mechanical processing of products with teeth and under the influence of the secretion of the salivary glands. That is why healthy teeth are the key to the normal functioning of the whole organism — people should start taking care of their teeth from the early childhood and dentists, who are far from being beloved by everybody and are often carelessly evaded, are called upon to help keep the teeth healthy.

We are in technical era where there is more of sedentary life style and stress along with this urbanization is affecting our quality of food and health. This is leading to many lifestyle disorders and hormonal imbalances in our body. Hypothyroidism one among the endocrinal disorder. Thyroid is an endocrinal gland secrets T3 and T4 hormones regulated by TSH which is secreted by Pituitary gland. These hormones have two major effects on the body, 1) To increase the overall metabolic rate in the body 2) To stimulate growth in children. Hypothyroidism is common health issue in India. The highest prevalence of hypothyroidism (13.1%) is noted in people aged 46-54yrs old. With people aged 18-35 yrs being less affected (7.5%). To prevent these hazards Panchakarma is beneficiary to maintain metabolic rate. Here an attempt is made to diagnose hypothyroidism in the light of Ayurveda and management guidelines through Panchakarma.

The purpose of the article is to conduct a study of the main problems of delivery of orthopedic care in dentistry. It is known that dental health determines the overall health of the body. The comfort of life of the population depends on their condition, since damaged teeth negatively affect the state of the digestive system and respiratory organs. As for the aesthetics of the appearance, here teeth have a special role, since they are able to provide both proper speech and the necessary level of human sociability. Thus, improving the quality of delivery of medical care is an important task for the industry today. The problem of the availability of orthopedic dentists exists only in those areas of the region where there is no orthopedic care encounters at all, or orthopedic care encounters are carried out by part-time doctors. Accordingly, it can be said that municipal dental clinics are generally provided with the necessary personnel. In this regard, one can talk about the need to improve the quality of treatment of dental diseases in polyclinics, primarily in terms of orthopedic care for the population. However, today there are frequent cases of return visits for orthopedic care due to its poor-quality during initial treatment. And the doctor’s task during second denture treatment is to avoid mistakes made earlier and to provide competent and highquality orthopedic services. The author concludes that the results of a study of the work of orthopedic units of the region showed a steady growth of most indicators year by year, but a number of economic problems were found during the analysis of the profitability reserves of orthopedic dental care. So, it is necessary to create a unified system for calculating the financial plan for the correct assessment of the status of orthopedic dental care for the population, to analyze the quality indicators for subsidized denture treatment, to introduce the concept of “prosthesis working lifespan”, which will establish the reasons and justify the terms of the second denture treatment.

Preeclampsia (PE) is a turmoil in the pregnancy appeared with the onset of hypertension and considerable amount of proteinuria. Extra serum iron is a causative component of oxidative stress concerned in the pathogenesis of preeclampsia. This study is a case control, conducted in 2018, and aimed to determine the iron status in preeclamptics as compared to normotensive pregnancies in Gaza strip. About 100 pregnant women with gestational age between 26 to 36 weeks. Fifty of them were preeclamptics and an equal number were without preeclampsia, aged between 18 to 35 years. Interview questionnaires were used to take sociodemographic and clinical data. Anthropometric evaluation and biochemical analysis were conducted. The SPSS version22 was used for data analysis. There was no statistically difference in the gestational age, gestational number and hemoglobin levels in the cases and controls (p≥ 0.05). In contrast, the body mass index (BMI), systolic, diastolic blood pressure (BP), and uric acid (UA) levels were significantly higher in preeclamptics (P<0.001). As well, the majority of cases were have +2 proteinuria on dipstick testing. Further, serum iron and ferritin levels were significantly higher in preeclamptics. On the other hand, ferritin levels had significant direct correlations with gestational number, previous preeclampsia, BMI, systolic BP, diastolic BP, UA, and proteinuria (P<0.05). Likewise, Iron had significant direct correlation with proteinuria (P<0.05). Preeclamptics have higher hematological parameters levels (iron & ferritin) as compared to normotensive women. However, Iron status of preeclamptic women should be assessed before giving iron supplements as these may cause more harm than benefit.

The assessment of iron accumulation in the body is important for the diagnosis of iron overload syndrome or planning and monitoring of the chelation therapy. Excessive iron accumulation in the organs leads to their toxic damage and dysfunction. Until recently iron estimation was performed either directly by liver iron concentration and/or indirectly by measuring of serum ferritin level. However, noninvasive iron assessment by Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is more accurate method unlike liver biopsy or serum ferritin level test. In this article, we demonstrate the outlines of non-invasive diagnostics of iron accumulation by MRI and its specifications.

Background: The safety and quality of food has been a matter of great discussion throughout the centuries and the application of nanotechnology in the field of nutraceuticals i.e. nanoceuticals has improved the variety and protection of food products in many ways. Objective: Improving the quality and safety of the food products with a view to improve public health and the invasion of nanotechnological advancements in the area of nutrition has resulted in the expansion of novel foods with improved oral bioavailability as well as thermal stability. The main objective of this review is to summarize available literature on nanoceuticals including patents and clinical trials. Method: The review was extracted from the searches performed at PubMed, Google Patents and Google Scholars, etc. Data from these searches was collected and evaluated for getting the information about the available literature on the nanoceuticals. Along with this, some reported patents have also been included in this review in order to conclude the future of nanoceuticals. Result: The literature so obtained was studied thoroughly as per the requirement of the objective of this review. The details of nanoceuticals including major applications, regulatory aspects, some reported patents and clinical trials are compiled here in this review. Nanoceuticals like vitamins, antibiotics, bioactive peptides, probiotics etc., which are dispersed, absorbed or incorporated in nano diameter range sacs, having improved solubility, delivery properties, biological activities, protection against degradation and therefore having improved biological activities and delivery to the target cells and tissues in the body. Different regulations from various countries recommended that any food ingredients which results from the use of nanotechnologies must undergo safety risk assessment standards before entering into the market as nano-food. Conclusion: The idea of “nanoceuticals” is increasing enthusiasm and marketable dairy/food and food supplements. This article focuses on the history, applications, regulation aspects, patents, clinical trials and future prospects of nanoceuticals.

Abstract The 2016 ESC/HFA heart failure (HF) guidelines emphasize the importance of identifying and treating iron deficiency (ID) in patients with HF. Iron deficiency can occur in half or more of HF sufferers, depending on age and the phase of the disease. Iron deficiency can be a cause of anaemia, but it is also common even without anaemia, meaning that ID is a separate entity, which should be screened for within the HF population. Although assessment of iron stores in bone marrow samples is the most accurate method to investigate iron status, it is not practical in most HF patients. Levels of circulating iron biomarkers are an easily available alternative; especially, ferritin and transferrin saturation (Tsat). In patients with HF serum ferritin level &lt;100 µg/L (regardless of Tsat value) or between 100 and 299 µg/L with Tsat &lt;20% are considered as recommended criteria for the diagnosis of ID, criteria which have been used in the clinical trials in HF that have led to a recommendation to treat ID with intravenous iron. We discuss the optimal measures of iron biomarkers in patients with HF in order to screen and monitor iron status and introduce some novel ways to assess iron status.

Background: Few population studies of individuals living with psoriasis have been performed in Canada. Objective: The objective of this survey was to understand the severity and impact of psoriasis on the lives of Canadian patients. Methods: An online survey was conducted using a consumer panel. Eligible subjects reported a diagnosis of psoriasis and provided a self-reported level of severity. In addition, subjects had to either (a) have psoriasis covering at least 3% of their body surface area; (b) have psoriasis on a sensitive area of the body; or (c) be currently undergoing treatment for their psoriasis with systemic medication and/or phototherapy. Results: A total of 514 panelists met the inclusion criteria and completed the survey. Current moderate, severe, or very severe psoriasis was reported by 65% of respondents. Nearly all subjects (96%) had psoriasis affecting a sensitive area of the body. At the time of the survey, 18% were taking systemic medication and/or phototherapy. Comorbidities, such as obesity and high blood pressure, were highly prevalent, with 75% of respondents reporting at least one other diagnosis. Data from the SF-8 and Dermatology Life Quality Index instruments indicated that psoriasis negatively impacted quality of life. Conclusion: Moderate-to-severe psoriasis places a burden on Canadian patients, some of whom may be receiving suboptimal treatment or treatment not appropriate for the severity of their condition.

Background: Serum ferritin levels reflecting the body iron stores, is known to be elevated in type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. However its association with diabetic complications including Diabetic nephropathy (DN), and overall glycemic control needs to be validated. Aims and Objectives: The aim of this study was to find the Serum Ferritin level abnormalities in DM patients with nephropathy in comparison with DM patients without nephropathy and to find correlation of Serum Ferritin (SF) levels with levels of Glycated Hemoglobin (HbA1c) in patients with diabetic nephropathy. Materials and Methods: This is a retrospective study, which included eighty five registered patients with Type 2 DM (44 Type II DM without nephropathy cases and 41 cases of Type II DM with nephropathy). SF and HbA1c was estimated in all cases across both the groups and were compared with age and sex matched controls and analysed. Results: Serum Ferritin levels were higher in diabetics with nephropathy compared to diabetics without nephropathy (p<0.0001). SF levels were higher in diabetic groups compared to control group (p <0.001).The correlation between HbA1c and SF was assessed among all cases of DM with nephropathy group using pearson correlation test and it showed a significantly positive correlation (r=0.431) with a SF (mean = 938±148) and HbA1c (mean = 9.2±2.02). Conclusion: Serum ferritin levels positively correlate with HbA1c levels in Type II DM cases with nephropathy, which suggests that serum Ferritin levels can be used as a surrogate marker of glycemic control in Type II DM with nephropathy.

Abstract, There are several ways used by others to eat their food, one of which is using their own hands without cutlery. Eating with hands more people use this to make food tastier with the practicality of eating using hands is also one of the reasons many people like to use their hands as cutlery. The writing of this paper aims to find out how to eat by hand and cleanliness of food contamination and the quality of food consumed. The research method used was a literature study by analyzing the contents of eating using hands, body interaction, and the influence of eating using hands to understand the body. The results of this study indicate that eating using hands can affect the health of the human body.
