This research is a Classroom Action Research with two analytical techniques, namely qualitative analysis and descriptive statistical analysis to analyze students' interest in learning and mathematical problem solving abilities. Interest in learning is an individual's interest in a process that produces changes in behavior, meanwhile, mathematical problem solving ability is the ability to be able to solve questions or problems in everyday life. The quick on the draw model is a learning to master material concepts that can increase students' enthusiasm and enthusiasm in learning because of teamwork and speed through question cards and question sets. Based on the results of research and discussion, it is known that the quick on the draw model can increase learning interest and mathematical problem solving ability with two cycles. The results of the average percentage of teacher activity observation sheets increased by 16.18% which in the first cycle was 75.98% to 92.16% in the second cycle. Then, the results of the average percentage of student activity observation sheets increased by 19.12% from 72.55% in the first cycle to 91.67% in the second cycle. In addition, the problem solving ability also increased by 26.54% from 40.88% in the first cycle to 67.42% in the second cycle.

Learning process while solving coding problems is quite complex to understand. It is extremely important to understand the skills which are required and gained during learning to code. As a first step to understand the students’ behaviour and approach during learning coding, two online coding assignments or competitions are conducted with a 1-hour time limit. A survey has been conducted at the end of each coding test and answers to different questions have been collected. In depth statistical analysis is done to understand the learning process while solving the coding problems. It involves lots of parameters including students’ behaviour, their approach and difficulty level of coding problems. The inclusion of mood and emotions related questions can improve overall prediction performance but difficulty level matters in the submission status prediction. Two coding assignments or competitions are analysed through in-depth research on 229 (first coding competition dataset) and 325 (second coding competition dataset) data points. The primary results are promising and these results give in depth insights about how learning to solve coding problems is affected by students’ behaviour, their approach, emotions and problem difficulty level.

Statistics today represent a group of scientific methods for the quantitative and qualitative investigation of variations in mass appearances. In fact, statistics present a group of methods that are used for the accumulation, analysis, presentation and interpretation of data necessary for reaching certain conclusions. Statistical analysis is divided into descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistics. The values which represent the results of an experiment, and which are the subject of observation of a certain occurrence, are called parameters and they are divided into descriptive and numerical. All numerical parameters are divided into non-continuous and continuous. The graphic presentation of the distribution of frequencies can be by poligon or histogram. The most frequently applied descriptive statistical methods are: arithmetic mean, standard deviation, standard error of arithmetic mean, variation coefficient, and variation interval.
