This article aimed to present a review of the literature regarding the outsourcing and precarization of university professors’ work in Brazil. The practice of outsourcing in higher education had been carried out illegally in our country, however, this theme brings great political, social and educational repercussion after the approval of the bill, which authorizes outsourced work in all spheres, voted by the federal deputies in the March 22, 2017. Works over the last 10 years have been investigated in databases such as Scielo, Pepsic, LILACS. A total of 16 papers that dealt with the relationships between outsourcing and precariousness of the university professor have been selected. However, despite the scarce literature, the studies emphasized relevant aspects because they unanimously evidence that this practice promotes discouragement, demotivation, devaluation, accumulation of functions, and several factors which contribute to illness. Therefore, it is essential that this theme be carried forward in later studies which offer a better understanding of this type of contract model of teaching activities and their respective impairments in working relations and conditions, quality of life, mental health and in the teaching-learning process.

The reported increase in university students with mental health issues has resulted in the recommendation of recreational activity. Therefore, this paper provides overviews of previous studies and literature evidencing physical activities that have been effective in reducing stress levels regardless of age and gender. Fishing is the advocated activity as therapy for pre-identified students with mental health issues that have impeded their quality of life. By ensuring that there are proper, early interventions for the students, it is hoped that they will be able to handle their issues and lead a quality of life that befits the university graduate.Keywords: mental wellness; fishing; therapy; quality of lifeeISSN: 2398-4287 © 2020. Astract Objectives: reflections on the experiences of emergency remote teaching by the faculty of the university and the impacts of these professionals’ mental health during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: this is a bibliographic review. The descriptors "Docent", "Mental health", "Covid-19", "Higher Education" were used in Portuguese, English and Spanish. The articles found were selected using the pre-established inclusion and exclusion criteria. The text was organized into two thematic approaches: “Emergency remote teaching and the professors’ difficulties /challenges” and “Professors’mental health during the COVID-19pandemic”. Results: in view of the current educational context, professors faced new demands that had repercussions on their social and work routine, due to the increase in the number of hours, the pace and diversity of work. It was evident that these professionals were affected financially, affectively and motivational aspects. Conclusions: the pandemic brought a series of feelings and perceptions to the professor with new challenges in his/her teaching. However, it is important to encourage the establishment of reflective processes around physical and mental balance in and outside the educational environment.

This study aimed to identify the impact of knowledge management processes on the quality of higher education from the viewpoint of university professors at the Faculty of Economic,Commercial and Administrative Sciences at the University of Muhammad Khaydar Biskra. To achieve this objective, the descriptive analytical and case study method was used. Thestudy population was 195 professors, 109 of whom were selected as a sample of the study. To collect data from the study sample, a questionnaire was used. 195 questionnaires weredistributed to the study sample, but 72 questionnaires were returned at a rate of return (66.05%). Then the hypotheses were tested based on a set of research methods, using theSPSS software. Major findings of the study indicated a statistically significant effect of knowledge management processes with their dimensions (quality of scientific research,quality of student services and graduates, quality of curricula and study programs) on the quality of higher education among professors of the Faculty of Economic, commercial andadministrative sciences at the University of Biskra. The study concluded with a set of recommendations, including the adopting knowledge management processes approach todevelop and improve the quality of higher education institutions, utilizing and activating professors' roles, knowledge, ideas and expertise.Keywords: knowledge management, knowledge management processes, higher education quality, university professors, University of Biskra.

Starting from the fact that higher education is an activity of special social interest and the initiator of the development and improvement of society, in theory and teaching practice questions are often asked regarding the quality of higher education and the possibility of its improvement. The quality of higher education in terms of the increase in its effectiveness is one of the shared aims of the Bologna convention, that is, the current reform process in European countries. It is determined by the quality of the study programs and the quality of the teaching process, which requires a competent teacher, prepared for the process of innovating teaching plans and programs, and the realization and improvement of the teaching practice. Considering the social importance of education and teaching, research into the social group which performs work-related tasks in the educational process, as well as into the quality of the teaching itself, is of special importance. The paper presents the results of research regarding student perceptions of the characteristics of teachers manifested during the course of educational practice in higher education institutions, which were based on the following: the human, professional and pedagogical qualities of teachers, the quality of the university education/teaching process and learning outcomes/learning achievements (the prevalence of theoretical knowledge, practical application of knowledge, etc.). The aim of the paper is to, on the basis of three empirical studies, from a sociological standpoint evaluate the perception of the social role and competencies of teachers and the quality of university education from the viewpoint of the student youth(in 2009, 985 students from 30 colleges in Serbia were surveyed, in 2012, 2208 students of the University of Niš (818), University of Bitolj (804) and the University of Veliko Trnovo (586), and in 2019, 374 students from 13 faculties of the University of Niš). The empirical findings indicate that teachers are qualified professionals who lecture clearly, comprehensively and are able to emphasize the most important points, but that their lectures are still insufficiently interesting, and that they are often unjust and biased. Considering the noted differences between the competencies of teachers working in higher education settings, and the quality and outcomes of the teaching/learning, “models” of teaching/learning have been proposed in this paper for each of the countries included in the study (Serbia, Macedonia, Bulgaria). Based on noted disparity between theory and teaching practice, the paper points to the need for new scientific research in the context of reform processes in higher education, with the continued redefinition of its goals and tasks with the aim of improving the quality of the teaching process and teaching practice.

(1) Background: The COVID-19 pandemic has created a great impact on mental health in society. Considering the little attention paid by scientific studies to either students or university staff during lockdown, the current study has two aims: (a) to analyze the evolution of mental health and (b) to identify predictors of educational/professional experience and online learning/teaching experience. (2) Methods: 1084 university students and 554 staff in total from four different countries (Spain, Colombia, Chile and Nicaragua) participated in the study, affiliated with nine different universities, four of them Spanish and one of which was online. We used an online survey known as LockedDown, which consists of 82 items, analyzed with classical multiple regression analyses and machine learning techniques. (3) Results: Stress level and feelings of anxiety and depression of students and staff either increased or remained over the weeks. A better online learning experience for university students was associated with the age, perception of the experience as beneficial and support of the university. (4) Conclusions: The study has shown evidence of the emotional impact and quality of life for both students and staff. For students, the evolution of feelings of anxiety and depression, as well as the support offered by the university affected the educational experience and online learning. For staff who experienced a positive professional experience, with access to services and products, the quality-of-life levels were maintained.

ABSTRACT: This study approached the Lesson Study strategy as a support for planning academic activities of teachers who intend to adopt or contribute to the adoption of an inclusive perspective in Higher Education. The general objective of this study was to describe preliminary indicators of the use of the Lesson Study as a teaching practice capable of enabling an inclusive perspective, in the context of Higher Education. Specifically, we aim to: a) identify strategies by student with and without markers (social, linguistic, ethnic, neuromotor, among others) as suggestions for the teaching-learning process with an inclusive perspective, and b) compare these strategies and discuss them from the point of view of the teaching practice aspects tested in this analysis. With a predominantly qualitative approach, this research was characterized as descriptive and the investigation instruments used for data collection consisted of interviews, observation and field notes. Three university professors and a group of twelve students, four of them with markers (social, linguistic, ethnic, neuromotor, among others), and eight of them without any makers participated in this analysis. The results allowed to highlight four specific indicators of the Lesson Study and 26 types of strategies indicated by the students (with and without markers) as suggestions for support during teaching practices. It was observed that those provided by students without markers did not differ much from those presented by the students with markers, except in specific situations, such as those pointed out by the deaf student. The obtained data contributed to the discussions on the existing policies and guidelines generated in the University itself and, in particular, the analysis provided professional improvement of the involved professors, in addition to the indication of possibilities of this improvement in relation to the other professors who are concerned with the adoption of actions with inclusive education perspectives.

The University now is the managing three substantive core functions: teaching, research, and links, all go hand in the teaching-learning process, the interesting thing about this idea is that the Higher Education Center becomes the main axis of knowledge. The objective of this research is to know the way that Higher Education Institutions have raised their incidence in local development. Deepening, from the studies conducted in the processes of linkage, which is where the relationship with their teaching activities has established of research and where quality preparation has given to the students, allowing them to satisfy the requirements of the productive matrix of the province. The career of Industrial Engineering has taken for the study because this is the fundamental pillar in supporting the change of productive matrix of the province. From the knowledge of the agro-economic values that can contribute to local development and as a result of this research it has been determined that they have affected the territory surrounding the Institution in projects that enhance local development, shown in its actions in the Municipal Gad of Portoviejo.

Abstract. Borderline Intellectual Functioning (BIF) refers to a global IQ ranging from 71 to 84, and it represents a condition of clinical attention for its association with other disorders and its influence on the outcomes of treatments and, in general, quality of life and adaptation. Furthermore, its definition has changed over time causing a relevant clinical impact. For this reason, a systematic review of the literature on this topic can promote an understanding of what has been studied, and can differentiate what is currently attributable to BIF from that which cannot be associated with this kind of intellectual functioning. Using Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) criteria, we have conducted a review of the literature about BIF. The results suggest that this condition is still associated with mental retardation, and only a few studies have focused specifically on this condition.

The conditions are investigated in which Spanish university teachers carry out their teaching and research functions. 655 teachers from the University of Oviedo took part in this study by completing the Academic Setting Evaluation Questionnaire (ASEQ). Of the three dimensions assessed in the ASEQ, Satisfaction received the lowest ratings, Social Climate was rated higher, and Relations with students was rated the highest. These results are similar to those found in two studies carried out in the academic years 1986/87 and 1989/90. Their relevance for higher education is twofold because these data can be used as a complement of those obtained by means of students' opinions, and the crossing of both types of data can facilitate decision making in order to improve the quality of the work (teaching and research) of the university institutions.
