The objective of this study is to know the level of possessing supra-cognitive thinking skills for the students of the Faculty of Law at Prince Mohammed Bin Fahd University from their own point of view according to some demographic variables. The study followed the descriptive approach, and applied the study tool to a randomly selected sample of (500) students (102) male students, and (398) female students. The results of the study showed that: the study sample members sometimes agree that the law students possess three of the supra-cognitive thinking skills. The study also revealed that there are no statistically significant differences at the level of statistical index of (0.05) or less in the study sample selections about (supra-cognitive thinking skills) based on gender variable. While there are statistically significant differences at the level of statistical index of (0.05) or less, in the replies of the study sample about (supra -cognitive thinking skills) based on the difference of the variable of the study level.

Abstract Critical and creative thinking skills are an essential attribute for success in the 21st century. This study aimed to determine the students’ critical and creative thinking skills in the Islamic senior high schools of Surakarta City so that teachers can pay attention to the strength and weakness of each student based on gender differences. This study used descriptive qualitative analysis. The subject of this study amounted to 180 students consisting of 80 male and 100 female students. The measurement of critical-thinking skills used a 6-essay-question instrument of the chemical material of electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions that measures the aspects based on Facione theory, namely: analysis, inference, explanation, interpretation, evaluation, and self-regulation. Then, to measure creative-thinking skills, a 4-essay-question test instrument of the chemical material that includes 4 aspects according to Torrance, fluency, flexibility, original and elaboration, was used. The results showed that the creative-thinking skills of male students are better than those of female students and the critical-thinking skills of female students are better than those of male students.

Автор, основываясь на ранее проведенных исследованиях, определяет место и роль пенитенциарной информации в процессе раскрытия и расследования преступлений. Указывается, что пенитенциарная информация превращается в процессуальную и, соответственно, в доказательственную посредством поэтапного прохождения через комплекс действий, облеченных в формы пенитенциарного, оперативно-розыскного и процессуального законодательства. Устанавливаются наиболее уязвимые места с точки зрения содержательного наполнения и процессуального оформления получаемых в рамках режимной деятельности сведений. Таковыми выступают места «сочленения» видов деятельности. Основой для подобного рода высказывания выступает разница в нормативном регулировании, в сменяемости и целеполагании исполнителей, а также их представлении о критериях успешности выполненной работы. В качестве подтверждения выдвинутого тезиса приводится пример из правоохранительной практики использования пенитенциарной информации в процессе доказывания, имеющий негативные последствия. Предлагаются направления совершенствования получения пенитенциарной информации с целью усиления ее доказательственного потенциала. In this article, the author, based on previous research determines the place and role of penitentiary information in the process of disclosure and investigation of crimes. It is specified that penitentiary information turns into procedural and, accordingly, into proofs by means of step-by-step passing through a complex of actions exposed in forms of the penitentiary, operational-search and procedural legislation. The most vulnerable places from the point of view of substantial filling and procedural registration of the data received within regime activity are established. These are the places of “articulation” of activities. It is concluded that the basis for this kind of statement is the difference in regulatory regulation, in the turnover and goal-setting of performers, as well as their representation of the criteria for the success of the work performed. As a confirmation of the proposed thesis, an example from the law enforcement practice of using penitentiary information in the process of proving having negative consequences is given. Directions of improvement of receiving penitentiary information for the purpose of strengthening of its evidentiary potential are offered.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to examine the moderating role of the demographic variables in emotional intelligence, homesickness and the development of mood swings in university students. Additionally, the paper investigates the relationship among emotional intelligence, homesickness and mood swings in university students. Design/methodology/approach Purposive sampling technique was employed based on a cross-sectional design. The sample comprised 304 university students (male students, n=210, female students, n=94). Three scales were used to measure the homesickness, emotional intelligence and positive and negative mood swings in university students. Findings The results revealed that homesickness was positively and significantly correlated with mood swings (r=0.34, p<0.001) and negative mood swings (r=0.49, p<0.001). The result also displayed that emotional intelligence was correlated with homesickness (r=−0.15, p<0.05), positive mood swings (r=0.33, p<0.05) and negative mood swings (r=−0.24, p<0.05). The results of the analysis revealed that demographic variables such as age and gender were the moderator between homesickness and development of mood swings. The results also revealed that demographic variable such as gender was the moderator between emotional intelligence and mood swings. This study recommended that those younger students who had experienced homesickness were more likely to develop negative mood swings as compared to older students. Social implications The study also recommended that those young students who had emotional intelligence were less likely to develop negative mood swings as compared to older students. Originality/value The study further recommended that those female students who had experienced homesickness were more likely to develop positive mood swings as compared to male students. Recommendations of the currents study are that university students can benefit equally but female students can benefit more from an intervention addressing homesickness. This study would be helpful in pedagogical and clinical settings to raise the awareness to effectively deal with their children.

RESUMOEstudo exploratório e descritivo, de abordagem quantitativa, cujo objetivo foi identificar opiniões de estudantes do Curso de Enfermagem da Universidade Federal de Pernambuco sobre os preservativos masculino e feminino. A população foi constituída por 427 estudantes de ambos os sexos e a amostra, do tipo intencional, por 88 estudantes do 1º ao 7º período do Curso, que responderam um questionário com 10 assertivas de múltiplas escolhas, após aprovação do projeto de pesquisa pelo Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa do Centro de Ciências da Saúde, em 2003. Os dados foram organizados, analisados e apresentados em tabelas, procedendo à discussão com a literatura pertinente. Quanto aos resultados, houve predominância de estudantes do sexo feminino (92,0%) em detrimento do masculino (08,0%); em ambos os sexos, 45,4% encontravam-se na faixa entre os 17 aos 20 anos, 88,6% eram solteiros e 11,4% casados; 22,7% estavam no primeiro período do Curso, ao passo que 13,6% no sétimo. Com relação à opinião sobre os preservativos, 31,2% dos estudantes e 30,8% das estudantes opinaram em favor que o preservativo masculino diminuía o prazer sexual; 08,9% dos estudantes opinaram que era mais seguro usar dois preservativos masculinos durante as relações sexuais enquanto que nenhuma das estudantes opinou; 06,1% dos estudantes opinaram que, por medida de segurança, deveriam ser usados os preservativos masculino e feminino ao mesmo tempo durante as relações sexuais; 78,7% dos estudantes e 76,5% das estudantes opinaram contra, que os preservativos não precisavam ser usados com quem se ama. Mediante estes resultados, urge a necessidade para que sejam implantadas oficinas educativas que possam atender as necessidades de educação no exercício da sexualidade destes jovens, de maneira sistemática, ao se considerar uma proposta pedagógica interativa, que os conduzam a prevenção e promoção de saúde com mudanças de atitudes em relação aos preservativos e adesão às práticas sexuais seguras. Regarding to the opinion on the condoms, from the 48 answers, 31,2% of the male students and 30,8% of the female students agreed in favor of the male condom diminishing the sexual pleasure; 06,1% of the male students answered that by security both condoms should be used at the same time whereas none of the female students thought; 78,7% of the students and 76,5% of the female students had thought against, that the condoms did not need to be used with who loves. By means of these results, urges the necessity so that educative workshops are implanted in order to supply the necessities of education in the sexuality exercise of these youngs in systematic way of considering a proposal pedagogical interactive, that the prevention and the promotion of health with changes of sexual behaviors lead them, attitudes regarding to the condoms and adhesion to practical the sexual insurances are elaborated. Los datos habían sido organizados, analizados y presentados en las frecuencias relativas y absoluto, procediendo la discusión con la literatura pertinente. Los resultados habían evidenciado que predominado los estudiantes del sexo femenino (92,0%) en detrimento del masculino (08,0%); en ambos, 45,4% eran entre 17 y 20 años, 88,6% eran solos y 11,4% casaron; 22,7% eran en el primer grado por supuesto y 13,6% del séptimo grado. El mirar a la opinión sobre los condónes, de las 48 respuestas, 31,2% de los estudiantes y 30,8% de las estudiantes habían pensado en el favor del condón masculino diminuía el placer sexual; 08,9% de los estudiantes habían pensado que él era más seguro utilizar los condónes masculinos durante las relaciones sexuales mientras que ninguno del pensamiento de las estudiantes; 06,1% de los estudiantes habían pensado que, para la medida de seguridad, tendría que ser utilizada los condónes masculinos y femeninos al mismo tiempo durante las relaciones sexuales; 78,7% de los estudiantes y 76,5% de las estudiantes habían pensado contra, que los condónes no necesitaron ser utilizados con quién ama. Por medio de estos resultados, se elabora la necesidad para implantar talleres educativos para proveer las necesidades de la educación en el ejercicio de la sexualidad de estos jóvenes de la manera sistemática de considerar una oferta interactivo pedagógico, que la prevención y la promoción de la salud con los cambios de comportamientos sexuales los conducen, de las actitudes en lo referente a los condónes y de la adherencia a práctico seguras sexuales. The purpose of the study is to investigate the interaction among Physical Activity Levels (PAL), academic successes, perceived academic competency and Motor Skills (MS) of male and female students at the age of 14-17 in terms of gender variable. The PALs, perceived academic competency and academic successes were determined through International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ), Academic Competency Scale and General Academic Averages respectively. MS were tested by sit-and-reach flexibility, vertical jump, hand grip strenght and back and leg strength tests. After the data were entered into the SPSS 16,0 program, paired t-test was done in order to determine the difference between genders. Also, the interaction among PAL, academic success, academic competency and MS of male and female students were analysed through Pearson correlation analysis. As a result, it was found out that parameters related to the PAL and strength of male students are higher than those of female ones while female students’ academic success levels are better than those of male students. In addition, while no significant relation between academic success and PAL was found, a positive relation was determined the academic success and perceived academic competency of both genders.

This study aims to determine the improvement of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in Economics lessons through the Inquiry model in class X students. IPS.1 Tanjung Jabung Timur 9 High School. This research was conducted in Tanjung Jabung Timur 9 High School in the academic year 2018/2019. This research is classroom action research with research procedures covering the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were all students of class X. IPS.1 Tanjung Nabung Timur High School 9 9 which consisted of 36 students consisting of 16 male students and 20 female students. The object of this research is the application of the Inquiry model to improve Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). Data collection techniques used were observation, interview, documentation, journal and test assessment. Analysis of data obtained by calculating the percentage of graduation of students in high-level thinking skills. The results of the study showed that there was an increase in Higher Order Thinking Skills in Economics in class X students. IPS.1 SMA N 9 Tanjung Jabung Timur. It can be seen that the average increase and graduation from cycle to cycle. In the first cycle the percentage of student graduation was 36.11% and HOTS was 13, and in the second cycle it increased by 41.67% with HOTS as many as 15.

Indonesian and Malaysian are languages that are often debated because they have similarities and similarities. This happens because Indonesian and Malaysian are rooted in Malay. Problems related to Indonesian and Malaysians are interesting to study. The topic discussed in this study is the use of Indonesian and Malaysian personal pronouns. The main objective of this study is to compare the use of Indonesian and Malaysian personal pronouns from a semantic point of view. That is, the authors compare them in terms of lexical meaning. This is because the root of a vocabulary is the meaning of the dictionary. In this study, the type of qualitative method with a descriptive approach was chosen as the data analysis method.. The data collected is in the form of first, second, and third personal pronoun vocabulary. The data sources for this study are Kamus Besar Bahasa Indonesia and Kamus Dewan Bahasa Malaysia. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the use of Indonesian and Malaysian pronouns had differences and similarities. The difference can be seen from the number of meanings. In Indonesian, there are as many as 15 meanings, while in Malaysia there are as many as 20 meanings. The similarities can be seen in each personal pronoun.

This research aims to increase the responsibility of students in grade V to Negeri 11 Bengkulu by applying the Learning Cycle learning model. This research is a classroom action research. The subjects of this study were 28 students consisting of 14 male students and 14 female students. The research procedure is in the form of a cycle. Each cycle consists of four stages including planning, implementing actions, observing and reflecting. The research instrument was in the form of observation sheets of teacher and student activities. The data analysis technique used is the observation sheet using the formula of the average score, the highest score, the lowest score, the difference in score and the range of values for each criterion. Thus the application of the Learning Cycle model can increase the responsibility of VB grade students in Sd Negeri 11 Bengkulu City.

Cardiorespiratory endurance in sports is very important. Because cardiorespiration is closely related to human activities doing work and moving. This research is motivated by cardiorespiratory fitness which is closely related to human activities doing work and moving and exercising. This study aims to determine the differences in cardiorespiration endurance among students who take extracurricular volleyball and basketball. This study uses a comparative research design with the test method. The subjects of this study were 19 basketball basketball extracurricular students and 20 volleyball extracurricular students. Data collection techniques in this study used a measurement test. The instrument used in this study was a multistage fitness test. The analysis technique used is the t-test (Paired t-Test). The results of statistical analysis showed that there was a significant difference between cardiorespiration endurance between students who took extracurricular volleyball and basketball with male students t count = 3.354 greater than t (0.05) (9) = 2.36 and female students that t arithmetic = 3.053 is greater than t (0.05) (8) = 2.31 at a significance level of 5%. The difference in cardiorespiration endurance between students who take extracurricular volleyball and basketball is male students by 13.31% and female students 18.64%.Keywords: Basketball, volleyball, cardiorespiration, Sport, Student AbstrakKetahanan kardiorespirasi dalam berolahraga sangatlah penting. Sebab kardiorespirasi erat kaitannya dengan kegiatan manusia melakukan pekerjaan dan bergerak. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kebugaran kardiorespirasi yang erat kaitannya dengan kegiatan manusia melakukan pekerjaan dan bergerak serta berolahraga. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaaan daya tahan kardiorespirasi antara  peserta didik yang mengikuti ekstrakutikuler bolavoli dan bolabasket. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian kompratif dengan metode tes. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 19 siswa ekstrakurikuler bolabasket dan 20 siswa ekstrakurikuler bola voli.  Teknik pengambilan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan tes pengukuran. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah multistage fitness test. Teknik analisis yang digunakan yaitu uji-t ( Paired t-Test ). Hasil analisis statistika diperoleh hasil bahwa ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara daya tahan kardiorespirasi antara  peserta didik yang mengikuti ekstrakutikuler bolavoli dan bolabasket dengan siswa putra t hitung = 3,354 lebih besar dari t(0,05)(9)  = 2,36 dan siswa putri bahwa t hitung = 3,053 lebih besar dari t(0,05)(8)  = 2,31 pada taraf signifikansi 5%. Perbedaan daya tahan kardiorespirasi antara peserta didik yang mengikuti ekstrakutikuler bolavoli dan bolabasket adalah siswa putra sebesar 13,31% dan siswa putri 18,64%.Kata kunci: Bola basket, bola voli, kardiorespirasi, olahraga, siswa

This study aimed to investigate the common thinking styles based on Sternberg’s mental self-government theory among students of the Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University, Saudi Arabia, according to gender, academic achievement, and extracurricular activities. The descriptive approach was suitable for achieving the study’s objectives. The study sample consisted of 515 students (257 males, 258 females). The researchers developed an Arabic version of the Thinking Styles Inventory. The results showed that the most common thinking style among students is legislative, followed by the hierarchic, judicial, and external styles to high degrees, while the oligarchic, internal, conservative, and anarchic styles were less common at moderate degrees. The legislative style was more prevalent among female students than male students. Students with acceptable academic achievements most used legislative and executive thinking styles, while students with excellent achievements most used the judicial style. The results indicate that students with strong participation in extracurricular activities most commonly use legislative and judicial thinking styles. The study recommends paying more attention to the thinking styles of a new generation of individuals (males and females), who have creative potential, and increasing consideration of extracurricular activities due to their importance in shaping the students’ personalities and meeting their interests and needs.
