Due to the neglect of the interdisciplinary and socio-cultural approach and the preference shown for the economic approach in investigating and applying the world and, in praticular, the Yugoslav tourist trade, this international phenomenon, in its constant and developing form, alongside positive traits, has acquired distanct negative and deviant characteristics and tendencies.Contrasting its positive with its negative features in the sphere of general and theoretical considerations, as well as in the practical given situation as exemplified by examples from tourism in Croatia and Yugoslavia, the author gives an inventory of the present situation. Employing examples from developed world sites and some autochthonous Yugoslav specifics, he points io the possibility and necessity of a more qualitative and selective development, With arguments and .justifiable amotional commitment, the paper unmasks and critically evaluates everything that contributes to the deviations and negative developments; all of this is viwed in the context of a search for new and original solutionis for the territory under consideration, isolating, with sufficient reason, the Eastern Adriatic seaboard.The purpose of this critical assessment is, on the one hand, to reduce and overcome numerous unfavourable conditions through planned endeavours and theoretical breakthroughs and, an the other, to qualitatively develop and build up its positive characteristics.Giving this panoramic analysis of the actual state of tourism in Yugoslavia, the author with hope and reason believes in its better tomorrow.

In recent discussions of the origins and process of animal domestication (Reed, 1961, Zeuner, 1963), both authors rely on two kinds of evidence: on the one hand, the present distributions and characteristics of the different breeds of whatever animal is being discussed, together with its feral and wild relatives, and, on the other hand, the past record, given by literary and pictorial sources and the bones from archaeological and geological sites. Increased recognition of the limitations of the past record, whether in the accuracy of the information it appears to give (as in the case of pictorial sources), or in the certainty of the deductions we are at present capable of drawing from it (this applies especially to the osteological record), has led these authors to argue mainly from the present situation, using the past record to confirm or amplify the existing picture.Arguing from the present, many hypotheses about the origins and process of domestication are available. The only test we have, when attempting to choose between these, lies in the direct evidence of the past record. The past record, it is freely admitted, is very fragmentary: the information provided by the present situation is more exact, ranges over a much wider field, and is more open to test and control. Nevertheless, the past record, however imperfect it is, is the only direct evidence we have about the process of domestication.

Boolean network (BN) is a simple model widely used to study complex dynamic behaviour of biological systems. Nonetheless, it might be difficult to gather enough data to precisely capture the behavior of a biological system into a set of Boolean functions. These issues can be dealt with to some extent using parametrised Boolean networks (ParBNs), as this model allows leaving some update functions unspecified. In our work, we attack the control problem for ParBNs with asynchronous semantics. While there is an extensive work on controlling BNs without parameters, the problem of control for ParBNs has not been in fact addressed yet. The goal of control is to ensure the stabilisation of a system in a given state using as few interventions as possible. There are many ways to control BN dynamics. Here, we consider the one-step approach in which the system is instantaneously perturbed out of its actual state. A naïve approach to handle control of ParBNs is using parameter scan and solve the control problem for each parameter valuation separately using known techniques for non-parametrised BNs. This approach is however highly inefficient as the parameter space of ParBNs grows doubly exponentially in the worst case. We propose a novel semi-symbolic algorithm for the one-step control problem of ParBNs, that builds on symbolic data structures to avoid scanning individual parameters. We evaluate the performance of our approach on real biological models.

Various research on aptitude testing has been accomplished yet [1,2,. Experiences from many years of HR consulting and knowledge of the industrys needs regarding to and lack of specific scientific research in aptitude testing for engineers emerged into research acivities in this field. The paper presents the data and main results of the field of aptitude testing for engineers. Its present situation as well as the reasons for that are considered and its necessity is shown. The gotten insights are presented: the existence of personality traits typical for engineers, the existence of key criteria and deduction of HR development measures necessary for a career. A newly developed personality test was applied to the occupational area of engineers. With more than 1400 tests conducted, many deductions were possible.Through the innovative approach of standard profiles of corresponding average groups rather than with demografic equivalent results could be derived. These are typical traits on the one side and development areas on the other.

Evaluation of slope stability in the hydropower project construction is extremely important. This Cloud Model will be introduced to the matter-element extension, the extension assessment is proposed based on the sutra field division of the slope stability assessment model. This method combines the Cloud Model theory and the advantages of the extension assessment .On the one hand, the division of the sutra field by means of Cloud Model can overcome the "hard" division of the evils. On the other hand,with different values of Cloud Drops as a sutra field, the statistical results of Cloud Drops can be used as last stable assessment results. Project case study shows that compared with the conventional method, results of the method of extension are more accurate, which fully accorded with the actual state, proving optimized based on Cloud Model extension assessment of slope stability feasible and effective.

Agent-based models are a powerful tool for studying the behaviour of complex systems that can be described in terms of multiple, interacting ``agents''. However, because of their inherently discrete and often highly non-linear nature, it is very difficult to reason about the relationship between the state of the model, on the one hand, and our observations of the real world on the other. In this paper we consider agents that have a discrete set of states that, at any instant, act with a probability that may depend on the environment or the state of other agents. Given this, we show how the mathematical apparatus of quantum field theory can be used to reason probabilistically about the state and dynamics the model, and describe an algorithm to update our belief in the state of the model in the light of new, real-world observations. Using a simple predator-prey model on a 2-dimensional spatial grid as an example, we demonstrate the assimilation of incomplete, noisy observations and show that this leads to an increase in the mutual information between the actual state of the observed system and the posterior distribution given the observations, when compared to a null model.

In this paper we introduce some relevant research results about the role of social embeddedness and social resources in the sphere of social conflicts and violence. In accordance with the actual state of the investigation process the outcomes presented in this analysis are focusing on the activities of the so called ‘Islamic State’or ISIS – considered to be a rather effective terrorism exporter recently. After briefly outlining the broader – global – context of terrorist organizations, the particular characteristics of the activities of ISIS and some elements of the conceptual frame, the study highlights empirically two potential explaining factors of the success of the terrorist organization. On the one hand the influencing network – primarily linked to the cyber sphere – of the Islamic State is explored, demonstrating a notable focus on the developed countries of Europe. On the other hand the paper summarizes the main conclusions from a case study on the recruitment base of the militants in Brussels of the terrorist organization investigating the relationship between the territorial distribution of the ISIS foreign fighters in city and the extent of segregation of the Islamic population in the different districts, including also certain socio-demographic factors to shed light on the significance of the broader – unfavourable – social context.

So-called orientors have been introduced at the interface between ecology and thermodynamics. Two have been chosen here to compare the characteristics of five ecological systems: exergy, which is related to the degree of organization of a system and represents the biogeochemical energy of a system, and emergy, which is defined as the total amount of solar energy directly or indirectly required to generate a product or a service. They represent two complementary aspects of a system: the actual state and the past work needed to reach that state. The ratio of exergy to the emergy flow indicates the efficiency of an ecosystem in producing or maintaining its organization.The main system under study is a portion of the Venice Lagoon, which is used as a fish farming basin. Four other aquatic ecosystems were considered for comparison. Results show that the ecosystem within the Venice Lagoon is the one with the highest efficiency in transforming the available inputs in organization of the system. This fact is due to human intervention, which is very limited but also very effective.

Hydroplaning on wet pavement occurs when a vehicle reaches a critical speed and causes a loss of contact between its tires and the pavement surface. This paper presents the development of a three-dimensional finite volume model that simulates the hydroplaning phenomenon. The theoretical considerations of the flow simulation model are described. The simulation results are in good agreement with the experimental results in the literature and with those obtained by the well-known hydroplaning equation of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). The tire pressure–hydroplaning speed relationship predicted by the model is found to match well the one obtained with the NASA hydroplaning equation. Analyses of the results of the present study indicate that pavement microtexture in the 0.2- to 0.5-mm range can delay hydroplaning (i.e., raise the speed at which hydroplaning occurs). The paper also shows that the NASA hydroplaning equation provides a conservative estimate of the hydroplaning speed. The analyses in the present study indicate that when the microtexture of the pavement is considered, the hydroplaning speed predicted by the proposed model deviates from the speed predicted by the smooth surface relationship represented by the NASA hydroplaning equation. The discrepancies in hydroplaning speed are about 1% for a 0.1-mm microtexture depth and 22% for a 0.5-mm microtexture depth. The validity of the proposed model was verified by a check of the computed friction coefficient against the experimental results reported in the literature for pavement surfaces with known microtexture depths.

The demands for transport are presently at quite high level. There are few transport branches which are used now, but in fact the road transport is the one used most. Transport actions are ought to deliver goods from point A to point B, and thus they influence the goals of logistics referred as 5R. Providing the right resource, in right place, on the right time, in right cost and in right quality, depend mostly on transport services. Using of the autonomous technology in transport allow to achieve better results in the field of logistics services. The purpose of this article was to present the benefits of autonomous transport and its influence on the logistics. Theoretical considerations were summarized with conclusions, which may become during the deliberation about the usage of autonomous transport vehicles.

Theoretical movements, interpretative paradigms and intellectual fashions have been widely introduced to Poland (feminism, postcolonial studies etc.), rarely (g)localized, but without a good understanding of the real consequences of embracing those cultural models. In literary studies, the main obstacle preventing the fulfi llment of the paradigm shift is the exclusion of poetics from those new trends, while its development should follow the adoption of a given theory. The article shows a complex character of the absence of poetics (in plural, refl ecting a variety of theories), on the one hand, and the persistence and appeal of the structural poetic (singular; even in the situation when the structuralistic theory is not used). The present situation can be seen as an infl ation of pure theorizations and a defl ation of the development of possible tools in text analysis.
