This study was conducted by descriptive quantitative, with a content analysis the article that has been published in scientific journals that indexed in the Indonesia publication index. The content analysis were refer to sevent subjects were biology topics, teaching and learning, research design/methods, research element, data collection tools, samples and sample sizes and technique of the data analysis. The data obtained were analyzed with descriptive statistics and displayed in tables and graphs. We founded that only four journals have been scope specifically in the biology learning. The four journals were Journal of Biology Education, Bioedu, Bioedukasi and Didaktika Biologi. In theses journals, we also found 547 articles published from 2012-2017. All of these articles were downloaded and all of theses articles were subjected to content analysis. The result of the study showed that research trends BER in Indonesia across the year 2012-2017 were devide on seven categorizes such as; biology topics was animal form and function, teaching and learning was subject matter, research design/methods was quantitative experimental design, research element was cognitive, data collection tools was achievement test, samples was the students at Senior High School (SMA) and the size of samples was between 31-100 and technique of the data analysis was quantitative method. The implication of this study has implicated that to be an information for the researcher being conduct their researchs. The result of this study also will be contributed for the teachers and educator in teaching and learning of research of methodology in biology education.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the research trends in the doctoral dissertation program over the past three years (2016 - 2018). A qualitative approach with content analysis methods was conducted at 4 universities, selected from 12 universities of the Teacher Education and Training Institute, namely Univeristas Pendidikan Indonesia, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, Universitas Negeri Surabaya and Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Sample in this study were study program at Educational Management, Language Education, Sports Education, Basic Education, and Education Research and Evaluation. A total of 327 dissertation were analyzed, consisted 36 dissertations from UPI, 32 dissertations from UNY, 35 dissertations from UNESA, and 224 dissertations from UNJ. The parameters used to analyze the study was focus on research issues and themes, theories used, research methods, data collection techniques, sampling techniques and data analysis techniques, novelty, citations and reading sources. The results showed in the last 3 years, UNJ produced higher numbers of dissertation compared to others university. While others, less than 40 dissertations were selected. Education research trends in each study program are very diverse, ranging from issues and research themes, research methods used to data analysis. Majority of the research methods used were descriptive qualitative, quantitative and R&D, data collection using questionnaires, observations, interviews, and documents, while data analysis uses more descriptive analysis. This study aims to investigate EFL students’ difficulties in writing a research proposal by using Swales’ Create-A-Research-Space (cars) model and try to find out the students’ problems. This study was used as a qualitative research design. The subject of this study are twenty students and the instrument are students writing the research proposal, interview for the students and lecturer. The result of this research is the students’ problem in writing for their introduction for move 1 (75%) and for move 2 (55%), there are 4 (four) students having problems how to face the criteria for inclusion and exclusion from review was not justified and the literature review was not topic focused. Related to methodology, the choice of paradigm, methodology, data collection, and data analysis was not justified to answer the research questions (20%). Next, a detailed description of the research procedures, as well as an explanation of the reason for doing so, was not provided (15%). Continued to the detailed description of procedures and materials was not provided to allow for replication (15%). Moreover, a component of methodologies such as the research design, research site, and participants, data collection techniques, and data analysis is not included (15%). The last, for the references, were all student writing research proposals less to completed the way how to write a reference, such as uncompleted detailed related to sources. The biggest problem related to the students' ability to write a research proposal for the introduction. Some students face some difficulties in how to compose the background well, including introducing and reviewing items of previous research in the area, how to find a gap in the previous research and student's fewer references to quote.

This book is an introduction to quantitative research design and data analysis presented in the context of music education scholarship. The book aims for readers to come away with a familiarity of prototypical research design possibilities as well as a fundamental understanding of data analysis techniques necessary for carrying out scientific inquiry. The book includes examples that demonstrate how the methodological and statistical concepts presented throughout can be applied to pertinent issues in music education. For the majority of Part I, the strategy is to present traditional design categories side by side with explanations of general analytical approaches for dealing with data yielded from each respective design type. Part II consists of chapters devoted to methodological and analytical approaches that have become common in related fields (e.g., psychology, sociology, general education research, educational policy) but are as yet not frequently exploited by music education researchers. Ultimately, this work is motivated by a desire to help scholars acquire the means to actualize their research curiosities and to contribute to the advancement of rigor in music education research throughout the profession at large.

This research intends to describe the types of deviations contained in the collection of poems Calligrammes by Guillaume Apollinaire. The approach used is a qualitative approach with content analysis method. The data collection technique used is Miles and Huberman. The theory used as the main reference is the deviation theory according to Geoffrey N. Leech which divides the deviation into eight types, namely lexical deviation, phonological deviation, grammatical deviation which includes morphological and syntactic, graphological deviation, semantic deviation, dialectal deviation, deviation of register, and deviation of historical period. The result of data analysis from 7 poems found 5 out of 8 types of deviation which are diffused in each poem, including 24 semantic deviations, 18 graphological deviations, 4 deviations of register, 3 syntactic deviations and 2 lexical deviations. While the types of phonological deviation, morphological deviation, dialectal deviation, and deviation of historical period are not found in any of the data in this collection of poems Calligrammes.
