Perosis is one of the most common leg pathologies in broiler chickens, during the period of intense weight gain – at the age of 14–35 days. Due to manganese deficiency, the number of sick birds can reach up to 5% of the flock. These studies were carried out in order to establish changes in some indicators of protein, macro- and micromineral metabolism in the blood serum of clinically healthy broiler chickens and birds with perosis at 14, 21 and 28 days of age. A batch of 2,000 Cobb-500 crossbred broiler chickens was selected. Two groups of chickens were directly involved in the research, in which blood was taken at the age of 14, 21 and 28 days: healthy birds and those with perosis signs. Clinical studies showed that 8.0% of chickens on 28th day suffered from perosis. Trace mineral biochemical parameters of serum and blood of broiler chickens with perosis on the 28th day of life significantly differed from those of healthy birds (manganese and zinc). It was found that on the 28th day of life the weight of chickens with perosis was reduced by 42.7%, causing a loss of weight 88 kg per batch of 2000 birds, with a consumption of feed 140 kg. The obtained data will allow the development of early perosis prevention schemes in broiler chickens, which will help manage production losses and increase its profitability. On farms, to prevent the occurrence of perosis, it is necessary to take into account the technological factors of the production of compound feed. Also, an increase in the level of total protein and albumin in serum in the blood may indicate inflammatory processes and dehydration of the body. Therefore, it is better to site a sick bird separately for rearing or hand over to a sanitary culling.

Abstract The research is devoted to the study of the influence of the modern antioxidant of the flavonoid group ‘Dihydroquercetin’ as part of the feed combination on the hematological profile and biochemical parameters of the blood of broiler chickens of the KOBB-500 cross. The content of hemoglobin and erythrocytes in the blood of broilers receiving dihydroquercetin increased, which indicates an increase in the intensity of redox processes in the body. The number of leukocytes in all groups was normal, but in the experimental groups their decrease was noted, which indicates the therapeutic and immunostimulating effect of the drug. Evaluation of protein metabolism by the content of total protein and the fraction of albumin in the blood serum showed its positive dynamics within the normal physiological values, which characterizes an increase in the intensity of assimilation processes in the bird’s body. The metabolism of carbohydrates was assessed by the content of glucose in it, and a decrease in its level indicates its increased consumption as an energy component for metabolic processes associated with intensive growth of chickens. An increase in the activity of alkaline phosphatase by 1.3-1.8 times is associated with the active growth of chickens.

Perosis is a common metabolic disease of industrial birds, especially broiler chickens. It leads to a violation of the balance of biotic substances in the body of chickens, which is clinically manifested by the curvature of the limbs, reduced mobility, and, consequently, reduced profitability of meat production. Prevention of perosis is possible provided that chickens receive a sufficient amount of manganese in a biologically available form. Studies were conducted to determine the efficiency of use of manganese chelates (pantothenate and lysinate) for prevention of perosis in broiler chickens. Efficacy was confirmed by examining changes in the clinical state, indicators of protein and mineral metabolism, as well as meat productivity of birds. For the experiment, broiler chickens of the Cobb-500 cross were taken at the age of 14 days. The birds of the control group received a standard diet, and the chickens from two experimental groups additionally received manganese pantothenate and lysinate with water during the critical period for the development of perosis – 14–28 days old. After 14 days of administration of manganese pantothenate and lysinate, the weight of the experimental birds at the age of 28 days was greater by 133.6 g (+11.0%) and 142.2 g (+11.7%), respectively, in comparison with poultry of the control group. Additional provision of manganese pantothenate and lysinate to chickens of the experimental groups contributed to an increase in the blood serum total protein concentration by 11.0% and 12.8 %, albumin – by 10.1% and 8.2%, magnesium – by 8.1% and 9.0% and manganese – by 29.6% and 26.9%, respectively, compared with indicies of the control group birds. The use of manganese chelates in the form of pantothenate (0.2 mL/L of water) and a lysinate (0.5 mL/L) during the 14–28th days of broiler chickens’ rearing provides 100% prevention of perosis. This reduces the death of broiler chickens, increases body weight, and, as a result, significantly increases the profitability of meat production.

Recently, interest in the use of bacteriophage therapy in poultry has arisen in the context of the growing problem of antibiotic-resistant microorganisms, as the need to find alternative antibacterial agents is urgent. In addition, EU legislation prohibits the use of antibiotics in feed to stimulate the growth of animals and poultry. Bafasal – a new and innovative agent based on natural components of the ecosystem, has a high specificity to Salmonella serovars, in particular, S. enteritidis, S. typhimurium, S. mbandaka, S. gallinarum, S. іnfantis, which are most often diagnosed in poultry farming. This is the first bacteriophage product on the poultry market, which is recommended as a feed additive for broiler chickens. The article presents the results of studies on the safety of Bafasal under the application as a feed additive for the prevention of bacterial diseases in poultry breeding. Bafasal was used for chickens of the experimental group according to the following scheme: from 1 to 14 days of the experiment – per 10 chickens – 50 cm3 of feed additive dissolved to 0,5% concentration; and from 15 to 35 days – 100 cm3 of the drug dissolved to 0,25 % concentration. Feeding of poultry of the control and experimental groups was carried out with identical feeds in accordance with regulatory requirements, taking into account the age of the bird. The clinical condition of the bird’s body was monitored daily, on the 35th day of the experiment; ten chickens from each group were taken blood samples for further laboratory tests. The morphological and biochemical parameters of the broiler chicken’s blood under the application of Bafasal feed additive were studied. It was found that the hematological and biochemical parameters of broiler chickens in the experimental group were within the physiological norm for poultry of this age on fattening, and therefore corresponded to the status of a conditionally healthy organism without signs of pathophysiological abnormalities. There was a reliable increase, within the physiological norm, in the relative number of lymphocytes by 11, 9 % (p <0,05) and a tendency to increasing the number of leukocytes, which showed a sufficient immune potential of the birds and an increase in cellular factors of natural resistance, compared with control chickens. According to the parameters of mineral metabolism, the serum content of Calcium and Phosphorus within the physiological norm was noted, which indicated a sufficient level of mineral supply of the organism of the experimental birds as a whole. In addition, in chicken fed Bafasal throughout the fattening period, the serum enzyme’s ALT, AST and creatine kinase activities and the content of total cholesterol not differ significantly from the control group, indicating the absence of signs of hepatotoxic effects of the studied feed additive.

Abstract. The introduction of synbiotics and phytobiotics into the diet allows us to optimize metabolism, increase the level of use of feed components, and activate immune processes in the body. The purpose of the work is to determine the effect of “GerbaStor” and “ProStor” feed additives, including probiotic, prebiotic and phytobiotic components, on the morphological and biochemical parameters of the blood of broiler chickens of the “Ross-308” cross. Methods. In the course of a scientific and economic experiment at the age of 29 days, blood was taken from 5 medium-sized broilers by decapitation to determine morphological and biochemical parameters. The blood test was carried out at the Clinical and Diagnostic Center in Ekaterinburg. The morphological examination of blood was carried out in the hemostasis laboratory, on an automatic analyzer ADVIA 120, manufactured by BAYER, as well as by manual counting of formed elements in the Goryaev chamber. A biochemical blood test was performed in a clinical diagnostic laboratory using a Vitros 350 analyzer. Results. The inclusion of “GerbaStor” and “ProStor” in the diet did not adversely affect the metabolic processes of the bird. Morpho-biochemical blood parameters were within physiological values. In the experimental groups was observed an improvement in the assimilation of protein nitrogen, it is evidenced by a decrease in uric acid in the blood serum. In addition, the use of the studied feed was accompanied by the activation of lipid metabolism in the body of birds, which was characterized by a tendency to reduce the amount of triglycerides in the blood serum in individuals of the 1st and 2nd experimental groups. The results of the study showed that when “ProStor” is introduced into the feed concentrate, there is a tendency of decreasing in the activity of transaminases in the body of broilers, which demonstrates a higher resistance of their internal organs, in particular the liver and heart, to unfavorable exogenous and endogenous influences. The academic novelty lies in the fact that new data were obtained on the influence of the studied feed factors, including probiotic, prebiotic and phytobiotic components, on the morpho-biochemical parameters of the blood of broiler chickens.

Method for using probiotic feed additive Prolaksim-V with a therapeutic and preventive effect to improve the indicators of live weight gain, feed conversion and the safety of poultry stock was proposed by the authors. Composition of Prolaksim-V feed additive is dominated by species of lactic and propionic bacteria: Streptococcus salivarius LT-1, Lactobacillus acidophilus LT-12, Streptococcus thermophilus LT-9, LT-10 and Propionibacterium freudenreichi LT-8. These bacteria perform an important physiological role in the organism due to their protective and synthetic functions, as well as participation in the final link of the digestive process. Probiotic flora plays a leading role in maintaining and normalizing intestinal microbiocenosis, maintaining non-specific resistance of the body, improving protein and mineral metabolism, etc. deficiency of lactic and propionic bacteria is one of the pathogenetic factors of long-term intestinal dysfunctions. It leads to a violation of mineral metabolism, to the formation of chronic digestive disorders. There is evidence that used bacteria are some suppliers of a number of essential amino acids, primarily tryptophan, as well as vitamins. Protective role of lactic and propionic bacteria in vivo is largely due to the formation of organic acids that prevent the development of putrid and pathogenic forms of microorganisms. The analytical action of these microorganisms is due to the presence of propionic and lactic acids, resulting in a decrease in the pH of the intestinal contents. It was found that the use of probiotic preparation in feeding broiler chickens contributes to an increase in the daily growth of poultry in the experimental groups, compared with the control. There was also an increase in the mass of gutted carcasses, improvement in feed conversion, and an increase in the safety indicators of poultry that receive probiotic together with the general diet.

The paper presents the results of the use of pancreatic enzymes in the form of intramuscular injection of pure pancreatic juice obtained from fistulated chickens to broiler chickens. At 7 days of age during the formation of groups, the differences between the control and experimental chickens were 17.9% (p<0.05) in favor of the former. It was found that after the injection of the drug 1 time in 7 days, there was a stimulation of metabolism in the experimental group broilers. By 14 days of age, the differences between the groups were 17.4% (p<0.05), to 21 days of age - 9.1% (p<0.05), to 28 days of age - 5.3%, to 35 - day-old age - 4.9%. Consequently, as the chickens were raised by 28 days of age, the chickens of the experimental group caught up with the live weight of the control ones, and, considering the increase in live weight, even exceeded this indicator (50.1 g/day versus 42.7). The use of parenteral pancreatic juice of chickens at a dose of 0.1ml/kg of live weight of broiler chickens allows to conclude that the drug has a stimulating effect on poultry metabolism, manifested by an increase in live weight gain, an increase in the content of lymphocytes, as an indicator of immunity, activation of protein and mineral metabolism in the body when using an enzyme preparation.

Purpose. To study the functional status in the body of the common carp Cyprinus carpio (Linnaeus, 1758) after the addition of biologically active substances in feed composition as an adaptogene and corrector of metabolic processes including the antioxidant system, catalase activity in carp body. Methodology. The experimental part of the study was performed at the laboratory of the Scientific and Research Laboratory “Aquaculture Perspectives”, Scientific and Research Laboratory of “S. Pentelyuk Physiological and Biochemical Studies”, Scientific and Research Laboratory of Ecological and Chemical Analysis and Water Monitoring of the State Education Institution “Kherson State Agrarian and Economical University” and at the laboratory of the “Kherson Production and Experimental Hatchery of Ordinary Fish Breeding”. The duration of the experimental part was 30 days. During this period, visual observation of the fish was carried out, biological material was collected for the study in accordance with the current methods in fish farming. Cytological studies of blood were carried out on smears using Micromed MDC-500-5MP eyepiece camera. ThermoMix equipment was used to transport biological material to the laboratory. The hydrochemical parameters in tanks of the recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) were investigated by express methods (tests) with the corresponding recording of results in the work journal. The reaction and ethology of the common carp Cyprinus carpio to the light was carried out using digital equipment and a LDT test. Findings. The obtained results demonstrated the positive effect of the feed factor as an adaptogene and growth stimulator on the redistribution of metabolic energy in the carp body, which in turn had a stimulating effect on the development rate and improved the general functional status of the fish body. The paper presents the results of morpho-functional, biochemical parameters of carp blood in ontogenesis when grown in recirculating aquaculture systems against the background of the application of elements to improve technological aspects while improving the adaptive capabilities of the fish body. It was found that the feed factor, when introduced into the general economic ration, promoted an increase in the average carp body weight in the experimental group, improved the parameters of homeostatic equilibrium in comparison with fish in the control group. Positive results of a scientific and experimental study on the use of the additive as an adaptogene were obtained; it was studied with the aim of activating protective mechanisms, metabolic processes of aquatic organisms under constant or systematic exposure to stress factors of a technological nature. The study showed that the body weight, yield, total number of erythrocytes, hemoglobin content, total protein, and the level of catalase activity in the experimental groups of fish exceeded these parameters in the control group. The results obtained allowed noting the activation of the antioxidant system, the restructuring of physiological and biochemical processes, mobilization systems in the carp body in the experimental group. Originality. We found a correcting effect of the feed factor on metabolic processes, the adaptive capacity of the fish organism, as well as an increase in the resistance of the body as a whole. After implementing the technological scheme of cultivation of a feed factor of natural origin as an adaptogene against the background of the influence of technological stress factors, we found a correlation between the morpho-functional, biochemical parameters of carp blood and stress markers. Addition of biologically active substances of natural origin with a pronounced adaptive and correcting physiological and biochemical parameters into the general diet of carp improved the adaptive capacity. The antioxidant system was activated against the background of the action of technological factors. Practical value. The results of scientific and experimental studies of the functional status of carp body under the influence of technological factors were presented. Parameters of the development of carp in ontogenesis when growing in recirculating aquaculture systems against the background of the introduction of multilevel elements to improve technological aspects were studied. The results demonstrated the positive effect of biologically active substances invlufrf in the feed mixture, in particular, activation of the growth rate, increase in body weight, and yield. Key words: functional state of the carp body, adaptive and compensatory parameters, development rate, recirculation systems, technological factors.
