This study aimed to identify and analyze the characteristics of COVID-19 publications in the Science Citation Index Expanded published by Latin Americans in 2020. Documents including searching keywords in their title, abstract, or author keywords were assessed. The analyzed aspects covered characteristics of document types, languages, Web of Science categories, and journals. Publication performances of countries and institutions were evaluated by six publication indicators and two citation indicators. Results showed that a lower percentage of articles and a higher percentage of Spanish language were found. Web of Science category of general and internal medicine published the most articles. The Clinics was the most popular journal. The Cadernos de Saude Publica and Revista da Associacao Medica Brasileira published the most articles and reviews, respectively. Brazil took a leading position in the six publication indicators. The University of São Paulo in Brazil was the most productive institution. Based on the number of citations from the Web of Science Core Collection since publication to the end of 2020, 10 most frequently cited publications were presented. In addition, the analysis of words in publication titles, author keywords, and KeyWords Plus was performed to find the main research focuses.

Research on melatonin remains one of the major hot spots in the field of disease treatment, but relevant data are numerous. The purpose of this study was to quantitatively and qualitatively analyze the progress of melatonin research through the method of bibliometrics and to predict hot spots and trends in melatonin research. This study retrieved all the studies on melatonin from 2000 to 2019 in the Web of Science and PubMed and analysed the publishing trends in the literature on a bibliometric online analysis platform and CiteSpace software. The research results were also visually analysed to summarize melatonin research hot spots through gCLUTO and pubMR. The study retrieved a total of 20,351 publications, of which the number of US publications ranked first, accounting for 21.46%, with the greatest impact (centrality = 0.31). The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and Harvard University had the highest average number of citations at 43.19 and 33.96, respectively. Journal of Pineal Research had the highest average number of citations in 2,993 journals. Professor Reiter made the largest contribution to this area. We further analysed 100 highly cited articles for clinical applications and ongoing related clinical drug trials based on the first hot spot. We systematically analysed melatonin for nearly 20 years while predicting the main research trends in the future, which may provide new directions and ideas for melatonin research. The structure and normal physiological functions of melatonin have been intensively studied in the past few years. And clinical application research and target of melatonin treatment for different diseases and target-based drug design will certainly become the focus of melatonin research.

We review on the literatures gleaned from science citation index expanded (SCI-EXPANED) and Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI) database on web of science, concerning evaluation research in E-Learning system. The result indicates that the number of citation literature on this topic mainly distributes in recently 7 years, reaching climax of 30 in 2012 and then followed by 2011. The main research territory is Taiwan. And from the analysis of research area, computer science accounts for 83.3333%. Accordingly the percentage of source title as computers education is 41.667%. The related research can be classified into evaluation part of the system and evaluation the whole E-Learning system.

BACKGROUND Social networks are now essential tools for promoting research and researchers. However, there is no study investigating the link between presence or not on professional social networks and scientific publication or citation for a given researcher. OBJECTIVE The objective of this study was to study the link between professional presence on social networks and scientific publications/citations among anesthesia researchers. METHODS We included all the French full professors and associate professors of anesthesia. We analyzed their presence on the social networks Twitter (professional account with ≥1 tweet over the 6 previous months) and ResearchGate. We extracted their bibliometric parameters for the 2016-2020 period via the Web of Science Core Collection (Clarivate Analytics) database in the Science Citation Index-Expanded index. RESULTS A total of 162 researchers were analyzed; 42 (25.9%) had an active Twitter account and 110 (67.9%) a ResearchGate account. There was no difference between associate professors and full professors regarding active presence on Twitter (8/23 [35%] vs. 34/139 [24.5%], respectively; <i>P</i>=.31) or ResearchGate (15/23 [65%] vs. 95/139 [68.3%], respectively; <i>P</i>=.81). Researchers with an active Twitter account (median [IQR]) had more scientific publications (45 [28-61] vs. 26 [12-41]; <i>P</i>&lt;.001), a higher h-index (12 [8-16] vs. 8 [5-11]; <i>P</i>&lt;.001), a higher number of citations per publication (12.54 [9.65-21.8] vs. 10.63 [5.67-16.10]; <i>P</i>=.01), and a higher number of citations (563 [321-896] vs. 263 [105-484]; <i>P</i>&lt;.001). Researchers with a ResearchGate account (median [IQR]) had more scientific publications (33 [17-47] vs. 26 [9-43]; <i>P</i>=.03) and a higher h-index (9 [6-13] vs. 8 [3-11]; <i>P</i>=.03). There was no difference between researchers with a ResearchGate account and those without it concerning the number of citations per publication and overall number of citations. In multivariate analysis including sex, academic status, and presence on social networks, the presence on Twitter was associated with the number of publications (β=20.2; <i>P</i>&lt;.001), the number of citations (β=494.5; <i>P</i>&lt;.001), and the h-index (β=4.5; <i>P</i>&lt;.001). CONCLUSIONS Among French anesthesia researchers, an active presence on Twitter is associated with higher scientific publication and citations.

Intercropping has been practiced worldwide in both traditional and sustainable agriculture to feed the growing population. This study aims to analyze the research status and evolution of intercropping, to identify the influential authors, research centers, and articles, and to reveal the main research topics between 1992 and 2020 based on the Web of Science Core Collection database. The results show that the volume of publications in this field has increased rapidly over the past three decades. The analysis identifies the top three authors (i.e., Meine Van Noordwijk, Wenyu Yang, and Teja Tscharntke), top three contributing organizations (i.e., the World Agroforestry Center (ICRAF), the Chinese Academy of Science, and the INRA), and three most productive countries (i.e., the USA, India, and China). Co-occurrence analysis demonstrates that studies on intercropping can be divided into four clusters as centered by keywords of intercropping/maize, biodiversity/conservation, agroforestry, and carbon, respectively. Lal 2004 is the most influential study with the greatest number of citations and Agroforestry Systems is the most utilized journal. Perspectives on future studies were also given. This study helps researchers to clarify the current research status in the field of intercropping and put forward its future research.

The activity analysis of a scientific journal is relevant to know the evolution of its characteristics over time. In this paper, results of a bibliometric study of the Revista de Biología Tropical/International Journal of Tropical Biology and Conservation (Costa Rica) are presented. The goal of this study was to describe the main characteristics of its scientific production, and analyze its level of collaboration and its impact between the years 2003-2012. Data was derived from the Web of Science (Thomson-Reuters), and the relationship among authors and coauthors, institutions and countries, and their links with the citations received were analyzed for that period. Descriptive statistics about production (number of documents per year, institution and country), collaboration (authorship index, collaboration among institutions and countries) and impact (IF, position in JCR and number of citations received) were collected. Results showed that the journal has published 1 473 papers in this period, in similar proportions English and Spanish. Mexico, Costa Rica, Venezuela and Colombia are the most common countries of origin, with the Universidad of Costa Rica, Universidad Autónoma de Mexico and the University of Puerto Rico as the most common leader institutions. Collaboration between authors, institutions and countries has shown an increasing trend over the last decade. The co-author index was 3.07 per document, 63 % of publications included 2 or more institutions, and 22 % of the papers were product of international collaboration. The most common collaboration link was between Costa Rica and the United States of America. The impact factor has been oscillating during this last decade, reaching a maximum in 2012 (IF JCR = 0.553). Besides, 10 % of the most cited papers concentrated half of the citations received by the journal, and have a very high number of citations, compared with the journal mean. The main countries that cite the journal were USA, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and Costa Rica. Data showed an increasing collaboration between authors, institutions and countries, and a direct relationship between the increase of this collaboration and the received impact.

Актуальность работы обусловлена тем, что на сегодняшний день образование является одной из наиболее динамически развивающихся направлений многокритерного анализа, рынок образовательных услуг на протяжении многих лет занимает лидирующее положение по темпам роста. Однако недостаточное внимание уделяется организации пространства вузов, в том числе разработке системы навигации в крупных университетах. Наличие такой системы позволит сократить время адаптации первокурсников и абитуриентов в ВУЗе, сделает более понятным передвижение по корпусам различных групп потребителей образовательных услуг: приглашенных лекторов, участников олимпиад, студентов. The relevance of the work is due to the fact that today education is one of the most dynamically developing areas of multi-criteria analysis, the market of educational services for many years occupies a leading position in terms of growth rates. However, insufficient attention is paid to the organization of the space of universities, including the development of a navigation system in large universities. The presence of such a system will reduce the time of adaptation of first-year students and applicants at the university, will make it more understandable to move around the buildings of various groups of consumers of educational services: invited lecturers, participants of Olympiads, students.

Since the International Journal of Uncertainty, Fuzziness and Knowledge-Based Systems published its first issue in 1993, it has made important contributions to the research field of computer science. In this study, based on the dataset of the publications published in this journal between 1993 and 2016 retrieved from Web of Science, a general overview of this journal is performed using bibliometric methods and visualized networks. First, the productive and influential publications, authors, institutions, countries/territories, and supraregions are analysed based on the total number of citations, publications, and different citation thresholds. Second, network visualization analysis is applied to illustrate the links and connections between terms by using the VOSviewer software. Moreover, the most cited journals and common author keywords of three continents, including North America, Europe, and Asia, are also presented. This paper will hopefully help researchers understand the research patterns of this journal.

This study analyzes N=16384 COVID-19-related literature published between December 2019 to June 2020. The data were extracted from the Web of Science database using four keywords: "COVID-19", "Coronavirus", "2019-nCoV", and "SARS-CoV-2". The analysis found that almost all but a tiny number of the papers are published in 2020 (95.16%). Of the 15 types of publications, article (40.015%) is on the top of the list. All publications are in 19 different languages where English (95.313%) is the dominant one. A total of 159 countries produce COVID-19-related researches, and the USA (25.433%) is in the leading position. According to the findings, Wang Y (n=94) is the top author, and the British Medical Journal (BMJ) (n=488) is the top source. Also, the University of London (n=488) is the leading organization with the highest number of papers, and medicine-related papers (n=2259) are the highest in numbers. Apart from these novel findings, this study is perhaps the largest COVID-19-related bibliometric analysis to date.

Web 2.0 provides richer user experiences by allowing online collaboration and sharing among users. We gleaned from science citation index expanded (SCI-EXPANED) and Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI) database on web of science, concerning advances in collaboration research in Web 2.0. The result indicates that the number of citation literature on this topic mainly distributes in recent 7 years, reaching climax of 4 in 2012. The main research territory is China, accounting for 22.222%. Accordingly the organization is city univ Hong Kong. And from the analysis of research area, research on information science library and computer science account for more than 50%. Overall, the related research topics can be classified into Web 2.0 in education, Web 2.0 in research, collaborative product development, climate reconstruction, public value in E-Government.

The study used the bibiometric analysis to assess papers on emission inventory from 2001-2012, based on the SCIE and SSCI databases. The paper analyzed publication outputs, subject categories, major journals, authors’ outputs, geographic distribution of publications, international collaboration and author keywords. Our research identified a total of 5995 emission inventory-related publications during the period. Most of the papers related to emission inventory were published in journals linkd to the atmosphere. Streets, DG from Argonne National Laboratory contributed most in the research of emission inventory whose total papers, total citations, the average number of citations and H-index were all in the leading position. The USA, with the most independent and internationally collaborative papers, cooperated with China most. Global emission inventory research focused on life cycle assessment, greenhouse gases, models, remote sensing and so on, which may serve as a foundation for further research in emission inventory field.
