The solid waste from agar processing industries in Indonesia is enormous. The waste contains numbers of macro and micro nutrient including growth hormone that can be a good source for plant fertilizer. Utilization of solid waste obtained from agar processing into fertilizer has been carried out by mixing with Sargassum powder, fish silage and Eucheuma cottonii pasta. Various concentrations of the solid waste (13, 19, 22 and 25%) and the Sargassum powder (0, 3, 6, 9, and 12%) were used in this study to obtain optimum nutrients  in the formulated fertilizers i.e. growth hormone, total nitrogen and potassium. Growth hormone were analyzed using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), while N content by Kjeldahl methods and K content analyzed according  AOAC.The results showed that the optimum formulation was obtained from the combination of 25% solid waste and 0% Sargassum powder, which contained the highest growth hormones i.e. auxins (IAA) 46.75 ppm, gibberellin (GA3) 22.25 ppm, cytokinin-zeatin 18.50 ppm, and cytokinin-kinetin 61.00 ppm. While the potassium content was 0.43±0.001 ppm and the total nitrogen was 0.53± 0.06%. This result meets the requirements of the Minister of Agriculture Regulation No. 261/KPTS/SR.310/M/4/2019 regarding the requirements for total N in organic fertilizer. However, the total K+ does not meet the requirement. Therefore, enrichment with other organic raw material is still needed.

This study aimed to evaluate and quantify the methodology of stable isotopes, 15N values for the organic fertilizer (chicken manure) and inorganic (urea). In addition to evaluating the incorporation rate, chemical half-life and analysis thereof, for possible traceability through the pasture fertilized with different sources of N. The technique of employment with use of tracer stable isotope 15N possible to estimate the changes in the N soil, even in the face of the various changes that take place concurrently. The methodology determines the path of both N isotopes (15N and 14N), providing information about the system and estimating N transformation rates The experimental work was conducted at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science, UNESP Botucatu. An area of 576m2 was used for the parcels, which were divided between the 3 treatments with 4 repetitions each: T1 - control treatment without fertilization; T2 - fertilization with urea and T3 - organic fertilizer with poultry litter. The grass was cut every 15 days, three months after fertilization, for a total of four periods of grazing exclusion. Experimental samples were analyzed for the isotopic nitrogen and crude protein, neutral detergent fiber, acid detergent fiber, cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin composition. Degradation of poultry litter, the sand bag method was analyzed by linear regression. (delta-N-15) forage, fodder percentage of nitrogen, percentage of total nitrogen sheet, (delta-N-15) on the sheet, and (delta-N-15) at the helm were different between treatments. To this end collection, difference was observed for% Total Nitrogen, % Total N in sheet, % Total N in the trunk and% Total N at the helm. The crude protein analysis revealed significant differences between treatments, while the crude protein and lignin differ according to time after fertilization. The technique of N stable isotope effectively distinguish the composition of organic and inorganic fertilizers in deferred grazing pastures of Urochloa brizantha cv. Marandu. Forage quality was not influenced by the source of N.

Rumen content is a waste produced in slaughterhouses. This type of solid waste can cause bad odor and atmospheric pollution if discharged directly into the environment. Additionally, it may spread disease due to the nesting vectors, and the resulting leachate can lead to groundwater contamination. The objective of this study was to determine the suitability of rumen content, waste generated in the slaughterhouse of Villapinzón (Cundinamarca), as raw material for biological transformation into vermicompost at the Fertisoluciones facilities. The characteristics of the rumen content were analyzed, and during the transformation process, three volumetric capacities (T1: 5.94 m3, T2: 23.01 m3, and T3: 16.74 m3) of compost bed were evaluated for 105 days. Through a principal component analysis, the data was reduced in two dimensions that explained 65.8% of the total variance; the first component related to the number of juvenile individuals, high pH, low moisture and temperature; and the second component related to numbers of adults individuals and high temperatures. The earthworm growth rate was determined by the food quality, as well as by bed size. Microbiological and physicochemical analyses were performed on the resulting vermicompost, demonstrating that the transformation process of rumen material into organic fertilizer, performed in Fertisoluciones facilities, fulfills the parameters required by the NTC5167 standard. This study showing the possibility of using a slaughterhouse’s solid waste and convert it into a valuable product to an industrial scale.

Biomass waste in the form of fiber dregs contains many components of lignocellulose and hemicellulose. Lignocellulose can be used to produce ethanol through enzymatic biotechnology processes. Sago palm fiber industry is one potential industry producing biomass waste in the form of solid waste of fiber dregs (about 30% from the weight of processed raw materials). Solid fiber waste contains crude fiber and lignocellulose compound consists of cellulose (35-50%), hemicellulose ( 20-35%) and lignin (12-20%). This study aimed to utilize solid waste of sago palm fiber as a raw material of bioethanol production through enzymatic biotechnology processes of delignification, saccharification and fermentation which was then purified by distillation process to get ethanol. Delignification,  saccharification, and fermentation stages are conducted using Phanerochaete chrysosporus Mushroom, Trichoderma viride fungus, and saccharomyces cerevisiae, respectively and then purified by distillation process (one level) to produce ethanol. The process of saccharification and fermentation process were done in an integrated manner (addition of Trichoderma viride and yeast saccharomyces cereviceae fungi done simultaneously). The weight of raw materials of solid waste fiber treated was about 6 kgs. Alcohol content obtained was about ± 4% (distillation). No water, air, and soil pollution inflicted, more added value, and sustainable were the main benefits of biotech process or bioprocess.

The combination of seaweed Sargassum sp. and fish waste hydrolysate can be used as anorganic fertilizer, both in liquid or solid forms. The organic fertilizer has a complete macro andmicro nutrients. It contains growth hormone factor such as auxin, cytokinine (zeatin and kinetin)and giberelin. The function of growth hormone factor in plants is to enhance the roots, stems, andleaves expansion, as well as to increase fruit production. To produce liquid organic fertilizer,seaweed has to be hydrolyzed in alkaline condition, meanwhile solid waste of fish has to behydrolyzed in acid condition. The liquid organic fertilizer had protein value of 0.08% or equal to0.012% N, 0.13% P, 1.22% K, 0.06% Ca, 0.17% Mg, 55.04% Fe, 122.75 ppm Mn, 1.95 ppm Cu,24.59 ppm Zn, 13 ppm B, and 18% alginic acid. It had auxin (IAA) of 91.48 ppm, cytokinine of84.71 ppm kinetin and of 70.27 ppm zeatin and giberellin (GA3) of 107.72 ppm.

Problems of poor soil structure and nutrient deficiency in the reclamation of abandoned homesteads, and improvement of the soil condition after land reclamation to arable land and rapidly resume agricultural production were investigated. Organic fertilizers, curing agent and fly ash as amendment materials were selected. A plot test with seven different return materials in order to obtain the effects of different amendment materials on nutrient improvement in the reclamation of abandoned homestead soils in loess areas was conducted. After 3 years of maize crop cultivation, soil samples were collected and analyzed for total soil nitrogen content under different treatments. The results showed that the maize yield in each plot showed different additives contributed to the increase in maize yield to different degrees, while the addition of organic fertilizer had a more significant effect on the increase in yield. In the treatment of the experimental plots with the addition of curing agent + organic fertilizer, there was a significant effect on the enhancement of the content of total nitrogen in the soil tillage layer after three years of maize cultivation. The total N content of the surface soil (0~15 cm) increased from 0.32 to 0.64 g/kg, and that of the soil from 15~30 cm increased from 0.31 to 0.66 g/kg. The total N content of the soil from 0~60cm showed an increasing trend year by year, but the increase was gradually reduced. The total nitrogen content of soil in the depth of 60~105 cm showed a decreasing trend year by year. In the remediation of hollow villages in loess plateau, the compound application of organic fertilizer and ripening agent can significantly improve the soil nutrient content, condition of farmland and increase in maize yield, which is the most suitable material for field return in the remediation of hollow villages in loess plateau, and is of great significance to improve the quality of field return in the remediation of hollow villages. A research about Effect of compost as well as Urea, TSP, and KCl fertilizer application in Regosol on nutrient N, P, K uptake by lettuce (Lactuca sativa, L), had been conducted from April to November 2008 in Glasshouse, agriculture Faculty Andalas University Padang.  The objective of the research was to determine the effects of organic fertilizer (compost of market waste) appication and the best NPK fertilizer dossages on soil chemical properties of Regosol planted by lettuce.  This research was a pot trial by using factorial design which was allocated as completely randomized in Glasshouse.  There were two factors, 4 x 4 treatments tested in this experiment, with 3 replications.  The first factor was dossage of compost {K0 = Without compost, K1 = 2,5 ton/ha (10 g/pot), K2 = 5 ton/ha (20 g/pot), K3 = 10 ton/ha (40 g/pot)} and the second factor was NPK dossage (P0 = Without NPK, P1 = 25 % NPK recommendation, P2 = 50 % NPK recommendation, P3 = 100 % NPK recommendation).  The data of this research were tested by using F-test at 5% level, and then continued by using HSD test.  The results showed that application of 10 ton compost / ha could gave the highest pH value, total N, available P, CEC, Ca-exch, Mg-exch, K-exch, and  Na-exch, but decreased Org-C of the soil.  In general, the best interaction of both treatments was found under combination of 5 ton compost/ha and 25% NPK recommendation for plant growth, plant dry matter, and NPK uptake by plants.  Based on the research conducted, it was suggested that the best input for lettuce grown on Regosol was combination between 5 ton compost/ha and 25% NPK recommendation for the plants.Key Words: Compost, Regosol, Lettuce

<em>Using acid soil as a cacao seedling medium limits the seedling growth due to low fertility, thus necessitating soil ameliorant treatment to improve its chemical, physical, and biological quality. This study aimed to investigate the effect of cacao husks as organic fertilizer and biochar on chemical and biological properties of seedling media and cacao seedling growth, was conducted in Soil Biotechnology Laboratory and Soil Fertility Laboratory, Bogor Agricultural University and Pakuwon Experimental Station at Indonesian Industrial and Beverage Crops Research Institute (IIBCRI), Sukabumi, from June 2014 until February 2015. Completely randomized design (CRD) was used in the factorial treatment with three factors: (1) organic fertilizer treatment (without organic fertilizer and with organic fertilizer 10% of the weight of seedling media), (2) the types of biochar (rice husk and white albizia wood), and (3) the doses of biochar (0%, 1%, 2%, 4%, 6% of the weight of seedling media), with three replications respectively. Observation was on chemical and biological properties of the soil and seedling growth.  The results showed that organic fertilizer or albizia wood biochar application significantly improved C-organic and  C/N ratio. Increasing the dose of biochar or organic fertilizer application raised the pH, total N, and microbes respiration, whereas  without organic fertilizer was linearly able to improve total population of microbes but not the dry weight of cacao seedling. The combination of biochar and organic fertilizers increased the stem diameter and dry weight of cacao seedling.</em>

The content and structure of mental representation of economic crises were studied and the flexibility of the structure in different social contexts was tested. Italian and Swiss samples (Total N = 98) were compared with respect to their judgments as to how a series of concrete examples of events representing abstract indicators were relevant symptoms of economic crisis. Mental representations were derived using a cluster procedure. Results showed that the relevance of the indicators varied as a function of national context. The growth of unemployment was judged to be by far the most important symptom of an economic crisis but the Swiss sample judged bankruptcies as more symptomatic than Italians who considered inflation, raw material prices and external accounts to be more relevant. A different clustering structure was found for the two samples: the locations of unemployment and gross domestic production indicators were the main differences in representations.

Analysis of natural product remain challenging issues for analytical chemist, since natural products are complicated system of mixture. The most popular methods of choice used for quality control of raw material and finished product are high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), gas chromatography (GC) and mass spectrometry (MS). The utilization of FTIR-ATR (Fourier Transform Infrared-Attenuated Total Reflectance) method in natural product analysis is still limited. This study attempts to expand the use of FTIR spectroscopy in authenticating Indonesian coffee powder.The coffee samples studied were taken from nine regions in Indonesia, namely Aceh Gayo, Flores, Kintamani, Mandheling, Papua, Sidikalang, Toraja, Kerinci and Lampung.The samples in the form of coffee bean from various regions were powdered . The next step conducted was to determine the spectrum using the FTIR-ATR (Attenuated Total Reflectance) using ZnSe crystal of 8000 resolution. Spectrum samples, then, were analyzed using chemometrics. The utilized chemometric model was the principal component analysis (PCA) and cluster analysis (CA). Based on the chemometric analysis, there are similarities between Aceh Gayo coffee with Toraja coffee, Mandailing coffee, Kintamani coffee and Flores coffee. Sidikalang coffee has a similarity to Flores coffee; Papua coffee has a similarity to Sidikalang coffee; Lampung coffee has a similarity to Sidikalang coffee, while Kerinci coffee has a similarity to Papua coffee.

Organic materials that are generally used as raw material for organic fertilizer granules (POG) is a natural organic material that has been degrade, smooth and dry. One of the main raw materials are always used with a very high percentage of usage, is manure. Manure potential in Indonesia is very high, amounting to 113.6 million tons per year, or 64.7 million tons per year to the island of Java. From this amount, it will be generated numbers POG production potential of 17.5 million tons per year (total Indonesia) or 9.9 million tons per year for the island of Java. While the realistic POG production predictions figures made from raw manure is 2.5 million tons annually, a figure that has been unable to meet the number requirement of POG greater than 4 million tons per year. Therefore, in producing POG, it should be to maximize the using of the potential of other organic materials so that the use of manure can be saved. With the use of a small amount of manure (maximum 30% for cow manure), it would be useful also to avoid the production of POG with high Fe content.keywods: organic material, manure, granule organic fertilizer
