The aims of this study was to evaluate the effect of HUFA-enriched live feed in rearing Nemo fish larvae (Amphiprion ocellaris), 5 treatments were set up (each treatment was repeated in triplicate) with 5 concentrations of HUFA (Super Selco) (0, 50, 100, 150 and 200 ppm). After 45 days of culture with HUFA-enriched live feeds of different concentrations, the total length-TL as well as the specific growth rate (SGRL) in body length and survival rate of Nemo fish larvae in the treatments had significant differences (p < 0.05). In the enriched live prey diet of 100 ppm Selco, TL, SGRL and the survival rate of Nemo fish larvae were the highest (10.01 ± 0.150 mm, 7.20 ± 0.099%/day and 82.67 ± 0.881%, respectively). Lowest TL, SGRL and survival rate were obtained in larvae fed with the control diet (8.65 ± 0.051 mm, 6.23 ± 0.041%/day and 68.70 ± 0.881%, respectively). The results of this experiment suggest that the optimal Selco concentration used to enrich live feeds for Nemo fish larvae is 100 ppm, which can improve the production efficiency of Nemo stock.

Feeding experiment conducted under laboratory conditions, to determine the suitability of live feed for the larvae of ornamental fish Puntius dorsalis, shows the increase of specific growth rate and weight gain when they were fed with mosquito larvae( 3.284 and 8.04%/day),chironomus larvae(3.308 and 6.24%/day),chopped earthworm (2.618 and 4.39%/day). The maximum growth rate,0.614g was observed in mosquito larvae feed followed by chironomus larvae(0.522 g),chopped earthworm(0.411g) and plankton(0.405g). The present study indicates that mosquito larvae could be used as a suitable live feed for feeding Puntius dorsalis larval fishes.

Proper stocking density on larval rearing of barred loach (Nemacheilus fasciatus Valenciennes, 1846) is very important in terms of obtaining the best growth and survival rate. This study was aimed to observe the growth and survival rate of barred loach subjected to different larval stocking density. Fish larvae were obtained by artificial spawning from in aquarium. Larvae were stocked on aquariums (50 × 40 × 30 cm) with three stocking density treatments (5, 10, and 15 individuals/L) and three replications. The experimental fish larvae were fed by Artemia and commercial feed (crude protein content: 30%) and feeding frequency twice per day (ad libitum). The length and weight were reassured every 10 days during 70 days of rearing period. Temperature, pH, and dissolved oxygen were measured at each treatment. Data obtained from measurements were analysed to assess the length gain, weight gain, specific growth rate (SGR), biomass gain, and survival rate. The results showed length gain of 3.35 ± 0.01, 2.94 ± 0.10, and 2.82 ± 0.15 cm and weight gain of 0.573 ± 0.023, 0.436 ± 0.018, and 0.417 ± 0.043 g in larval stocking density of 5, 10 and 15 individuals/L, respectively. Specific growth rates and biomass growth were of 6.22 ± 0.41, 5.93 ± 0.21, and 5.68 ± 0.41 %/day and 94.04 ± 5.39, 146.80 ± 3.81, and 167.24 ± 17.48 g in larval stocking density of 5, 10 and 15 individuals/L, respectively. Meanwhile, the survival rates obtained in this study were 89.13 ± 7.25, 93.13 ± 5.13, and 76.50 ± 3.54 % in larval stocking density of 5, 10 and 15 individuals/L, respectively. Increased stocking density has a negative impact on the growth and survival rate of barred loach.

Baung (Hemibagrus nemurus) is one of the endogeneous freshwater fish that has economic value. Baung still rarely cultivated and only relies on catches, so its need to be cultivated. Live feed must be given the appropriate amount because the fish will grow not optimally if the feed is a few or too much. Moina sp. is one of the live feeds that can be given to baung larvae. The nutritions content of Moina sp. were 37.38% protein, 13.29% fat, 0.00% crude fiber, 11.00% ash, and 99.60% moisture content. Size of Moina sp. that suitable for larvae ranges is 500 – 1,000 μm.The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of live feed Moina sp. with different doses in feeding regime on growth and survival of larvae baung and to determine the best dose of Moina sp. on growth and survival larvae baung. The research was carried out at the Technical Implementation Unit of the Fish Larvae Center (UPT BBI) Sawangan, Magelang District in March – May 2018. The individuals of D3 larvae with a length of 0.6 ± 0.1 cm were used in the culture. The research was conducted using experimental method with completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replicates. Those treatments  were treatment A (5ind / ml), B (10 ind / ml), C (15 ind / ml), and D (20 ind / ml).The results showed that the different dose of live feed Moina sp. significantly affected (P <0.01) on TKP, Pm, SGR, EPP, PER and RGR but not significantly affected  (P>0.05) on SR. in. treatment D showed the best value of absolute length, SGR and SR in D3D15 stage were 0.9 ± 0.10, 7.04 ± 0.5, 90 ± 3.3,respectivel. This study is aimed to determine the optimal rotifer feeding density for larviculture of spotted scat fish (Scatophagus argus). The experiment was randomly set up in triplicate with 5 treatments including 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 rotifers/mL. The fish larvae with the initial body length and depth at 2,343 ± 110 µm and 812 ± 85µm, respectively, were stocked in 250-L tanks at 10 larva/L of density and 25‰ of salinity. After 21 days of rearing, the results showed that the larval growth were at 243 – 330 µm/day of DLG and 5.50 – 6.70 %/day of SGRL; 131 –204 µm/day of DDG and 7.20 – 8.93 %/day of SGRD, but no significant difference in larval growth performance was recorded among treatments (p>0.05). However, the highest survival rate of fish larvae (35.4-48.1%) was recorded in the treatments fed 5 and 10 rotifers/mL and was significantly higher than other treatments (p<0.05). The data demonstrated that spotted scat larvae fed effectively across as wide range of rotifer densities and the range at 5-10 rotifers/mL were suggested for the husbandry practices.

The thyroxin hormone plays an important role in the process of metabolism, yolk sac absorbsion, and growth of fish. The aims of this research were to observe the effect of various concentration of thyroxin (T4) on the absolute growth weight, total length, survival rate, and pigment development of pink zebra fish larvae (Brachydanio reiro ) after being reared 42 days. The pink zebra fish larvae at 4 day age with the average weight of  0,002 – 0,003g and average length of ± 3.10 – 3.43 mm were immersed at various concentration of T4 for 24 hours. Prior the treatment fish larvae were dipped into 1 ppt salinity for 2 minutes then transferred into 1 Liter, 1ppt saline and various T4 in plastic bags. The thyroxin concentrations were A (0 mg / L); B (0.05 mg / L); C (0.10 mg / L) and D (0.15 mg / L) respectively. The stocking density was 40 fish/L. After that they were transferred into aquariums and reared for 42 days. Completely Randomized Design (RAL) with four treatments and three replications were used. The variables observed were absolute and specific growth, total length, survival rate and hue degree. The results showed that the thyroxin hormone had significant effect on absolute growth weight, total length and specific growth rate.  The dosage 0.1 mg/L was the best treatment on absolute growth, total length, and specific growth rate. Whilee the survival rate showed no significant differences across the treatments. Treatment C also demonstrated the best ppigment development (14.60 + 0.36º hue) compared to others.
