<p>This article seeks to find out the intersection between scientific approach and Islamic religious education as a subject matter. The scientific approach adopts scientific steps in building scientific knowledge, i.e. such featuring dimensions as observation, reasoning, inquiry, validation anD and description of scientific truth. Since the scientific approach is regarded as too empirical, rational and logical. In Cartesian sense, it contradicts the logical structure of the subject of Islamic religious education. Five aspects of Islamic religious education (the Qur’ân, Hadîth, Aqîdah Akhlaq, Fiqh, history of Islamic culture, and Arabic language) have different characteristics, even demand a non-scientific logics such as intuition and revelation. Aqîdah (belief), for example, which consists of the doctrine of monotheism (<em>tawh</em><em></em><em>id</em>) is difficult to be scrutinized through empirical evidence. There are some other examples in this field which are difficult to be analyzed by means of scientific approach. Through library research, this article nevertheless finds that the logic of scientific approach and Islamic religious education can be integrated, since revelation and reason are mutually supportive.</p>

In Recent Years, many discoveries in the history of Islamic mathematics have not been reported outside the specialist literature, even though they raise issues of interest to a larger audience. Thus, our aim in writing this survey is to provide to scholars of Islamic culture an account of the major themes and discoveries of the last decade of research on the history of mathematics in the Islamic world. However, the subject of mathematics comprised much more than what a modern mathematician might think of as belonging to mathematics, so our survey is an overview of what may best be called the “mathematical sciences” in Islam; that is, in addition to such topics as arithmetic, algebra, and geometry we will also be interested in mechanics, optics, and mathematical instruments.

لكن على الرغم من العديد من التحديات والعقبات التي تواجهها ، إلا أن كل ذلك يمكن أن يكون فرصة لتطوير تعليم اللغة العربية في المؤسسات التربوية الإسلامية في إندونيسيا.</p><p>Education in Islam covers the entire dimension of a Muslim's life. Bothdimensions ilahiyyahrelate to their relationship to God, or the dimensions of insaniyyah in relation to other human beings, as well as the dimensions of kauniyyah in relation to the universe. So the educational material in Islam is also very broadly covering the three dimensions, which are largely the subject of Aqidah, Ibadah, Morals, Languages and Literature, Science and Technology. Islamic education is entirely sourced and based on the Qur'an and the Sunnah. Given that its main source is the Qur'an and the Sunnah, then a necessity to study and understand the language used by both sources is Arabic. In Indonesia as the world's largest Muslim population, Arabic is one of the mandatory subject material in the national curriculum for Islamic education institutions, while for public education institutions as the subject matter of choice. But of course in the course of learning it encounters obstacles and difficulties as well as challenges, where Arabic is a foreign language morning Indonesian people. This research is a library research (Library Research) that is equipped with data from the field. The data collected are from the literature or from the informants related to this theme. The author describes the data through the deskreptive method and then draws conclusions that the undertaking is done objectively and systematically. The results show that the obstacles and challenges faced by Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia are quite diverse, but they still have similarities between one institution and another, so they can be grouped into the following major points: (1) politically problematic ; (2) problematic in sociological terms; (3) problematic in terms of methodology. But despite the many challenges and obstacles faced, but all of that can be an opportunity to develop Arabic language learning at Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia.</p>

This paper deals with a very specific problem in term of the relationship between sound and its meaning in the Qur’an. As a scripture revealed with Arabic language as its medium, the Qur’an often uses some words or sentences that have an intimate relation between its meaning and the way of its expression. It means that the sounds which construct those words or sentences have a huge rule to determine meaning, and therefore, a single word or sentence which is expressed by using different voices may produce different meaning. This paper shows that the Qur’an has a very intimate relation between sounds which construct words or sentences and their meaning. It covers some parts of segmental and suprasegmental phonemes discussion in linguistics tradition, including the preference of phonemes, intonation, stress, juncture and so on. This research based on library research, a research proceed by gathering some facts from various books, articles, and other literatures related to the subject. <p><em>Profession, professional, and professionalism are the three words that have different editors and with different emphases, but the same substance. These three words are used in the elaboration of the position of teachers PAI. All three of understanding the existence of a work performed by the expertise, so that the three important especially in performing work involving other people in an educational institution. The teacher's role is not limited to the transfer function of knowledge to students, but teachers have a wider role in the community to creating value changes.Changes in the value of the community showed the competence of teachers able to encourage their learning interactions. The teaching profession is able to provide a strong impetus values and can convey information and knowledge to the learners. It is the responsibility inherent to each educator. Educator is the predicate in charge of implementing keteladan-based learning and religious values. The aspect of responsibility. Another thing is the issue of competence. PAI teacher competence was actually the heaviest and most complex than teachers in addition to PAI. Because the material PAI includes the disciplines of theology (tawhid), the science of morals, the science of the Koran, the science of hadith, the science of fiqh, the science of the history of Islamic culture and the Arabic language. Indeed, the Arabic language is not included in the components of PAI, but the Arabic language as a tool of science is always attached to the PAI. One can not possibly master the material PAI without the ability to master the Arabic language.</em></p><p><strong><em>Key words</em></strong><em>: teacher professionalism, values of religious, noble character</em></p>

This chapter focuses on childhood and its representation in Turkey, locating the subject within a broader theoretical discussion of the representation of childhood and of the history of modern Turkish society. Cuteness is explored as an important emotional and affective category, and the role of commodity cuteness in consumer culture is also explored. Drawing on the substantial literature on cuteness in Japan, the chapter explores how adults deploy cuteness as an aspirational category and a strategy for dealing with moral ambiguity, anxiety, and discomfort, especially as it relates to sacrifice. It explores these strategies through visual representations in Turkish religious books for children, locating them within the broader history of religious education and publishing in the country.

Chairman Smyth: It is our purpose at this Round Table Discussion to discuss asthma in children with special emphasis on the practical aspects of such care. A literal interpretation of the word asthma is "to breathe hard." This is the symptom in labored respiration after violent exercise, with oxygen lack in high altitudes, so also the lack of oxygen caused by circulatory and cardiac disturbances. Such usage of the term, "labored breathing" also implies a primary obstructive phenomena in the lungs, or a pneumonia. Thus, we find our differential definition requires further limitation. Asthma is really a symptom with many possible causes. So, for our own purposes of definition, we are going to limit the subject of asthma to those patients whose labored breathing is due to edema, secretions, and smooth muscle spasm induced by allergic sensitivity. No element in the diagnosis is more important than the history of the patient. A good history cannot be obtained in one interview but is the result of persistence by the physician and of cooperation and understanding by the parents. A diary-like history kept by the mother will be invaluable. Many times we have interviewed anxious parents when the child was having an acute asthmatic attack, and got nowhere on the family history. You suspect there may be a bilateral allergy inheritance but you can elicit no information as to a constitutional inherited factor. This is equally true of the initiation of symptoms. The parents may deny any other allergic symptomatology, but as they begin to understand the problem, you will obtain further information extremely valuable for your study. The physician wants to know the season of the year in connection with the onset of symptoms, the locus of the first attack, has the child had repeated colds, any dermatitis of an allergic nature, etc. Once the intelligent mother has understood the problem, her observations can be as accurate as those of the physician, and in several instances, I have seen her come up with a solution of certain phases of the problem which has been very apt. It seems unnecessary to mention the importance of the physical examination. In a sense, it is the clinician's scientific approach, i.e., accurate observation which not only clarifies the differential diagnosis to a great extent, but also brings to light the nutritional status, contributing infections, and the general make-up of the child. These are often of the utmost significance in any program designed to bring relief from the asthma, as well as to assure robust health.
