Superficial fungal infections of the hair, skin and nails are a major cause of morbidity in the world. Choosing the right treatment is not always simple because of the possibility of drug interactions and side effects. The first part of the article discusses the main treatments for superficial mycoses - keratophytoses, dermatophytosis, candidiasis, with a practical approach to the most commonly-used topical and systemic drugs , referring also to their dosage and duration of use. Promising new, antifungal therapeutic alternatives are also highlighted, as well as available options on the Brazilian and world markets.

Background: The FDA has been requiring that information about using remdesivir to treat COVID-19 be made available to healthcare providers and patients, including dosing instructions, potential side effects, and drug interactions. It is important to observe the initial indicators of anxiety, fear, and euphoria for families during emergencies, including information on the possible side effects. This situational context is very important in all the world, because it opens doors for providing the use of updated information about treatment follow-up and for offering improved mental health services. Method: The studies were identified in well-known international journals found in two electronic databases: Scopus and Embase. The data were cross-checked with information from the main international newspapers. Results: The high expectations supported by an immediate discourse culminate in frustration and displeasure, while more consistent empirical results are not generated. These two are predictors of psychic suffering, especially due to the scarcity of information and uncertainties. In parallel, recent studies indicate that spreading information without scientific basis intensifies damage to the routine and health of people, which are already impacted by the pandemic situation. This misrepresented spread may be a factor for unleashing fear and, as a consequence, social despair. Conclusions: Based on the impulsive scenarios stimulated in the context of hydroxychloroquine and on the high spread of fake or distorted news, the psychiatric impacts of COVID-19 pandemic associated with the use of remdesivir may be worsened and reflected directly on the population’s self-esteem.

In the absence of the development of exports of high-tech industries, the implementation of strategic tasks for the accelerated growth of the economy set by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation “On national goals and strategic objectives of the development of the Russian Federation until 2024” of May 7, 2018 No. 240 is unlikely. According to most researchers, the main potentially possible commodity items in non-raw materials exports, which are in demand in the world markets, are the products of engineering, pharmaceutical industry, apparatus and devices used in medicine. Therefore, the right to participate in foreign economic activity is delegated, first of all, to large domestic companies. However, today Russia is a country with a large assortment of production of simple products, which requires building a systematic approach in the formation of both economic policy in general and export in particular in the direction of developing of non-resource industries that produce high-tech products. The analysis of the strategies for retaining the leading positions in narrow niche segments in the global market, analysis of the competitive and diversifying strategy of the German company Poly-clip System, which is the world’s leading producer of clipping systems and the world leader in the food packaging segment was performed.

In this review article, we aim to document the efficacy, adverse effects, mode of action, required doses, and availability of the major vaccines available in Pakistan till 20 May 2021. We reviewed all available literature on COVID-19 vaccines in PubMed and Google scholar. We also reviewed articles from grey literature. Currently, Pfizer–BioNTech and Moderna, Sinopharm (China), Sputnik V (Russia), CoronaVac (popularly known as Sinovac) (China), Cansino, and Vaxzevria vaccines have been authorized for emergency use in several countries. Pakistan has sanctioned the use of all the aforementioned vaccines except Pfizer and Moderna. As per their efficacy, Pfizer and Moderna have been found most effective among all the vaccines with 95% effectiveness, while the Vaxzevria, Sputnik V, Sinopharm, and Cansino have shown 70%, 91.6%, 79.34%, and 90% effectiveness, respectively. All the vaccines have shown milder side effects like headache, fever, and pain on injection sites. To curb the pandemic, more clinical trials are being conducted throughout the world. Importantly public awareness is warranted to achieve the target of vaccinating a large population.

This paper is aiming to raise the awareness of the readers to think about the world they are living in and encourages them to effectively separate the progression from regression. The writing is based on analysis of the pictures which accurately help the reader to get the main points and ideas. Nothing can be more effecttive and obvious for people to get the right point then an immediate visual reference.  By referring to the different works or sayings of Aristotle, Plato, Einstein and Goodfrey-Reggio I tried to highlight and bring the attention of the audience to the actual dangers that exist in our world that can very soon cause a dissolution of human race, because of ongoing progression and greediness. People always tend to progress and get much more civilized then they are and on their way they never take a moment to think about the side effects and regressive consequences. The success causes blindness and makes people more avaricious. Accordingly, we need to take a pause and by analyzing all of the negative side-effects of ongoing progression try to save the planet from being destroyed.

The incidence of dengue has grown dramatically around the world in recent decades. The disease is now endemic in more than 100 countries. But whenever there is large dengue outbreak in any region around the world, many of these cases are misdiagnosed as other febrile illness and many a times it has mislead the surgeons of some acute or other surgical conditions. Thus it is of utmost importance for a medical professional to consider and exclude dengue fever as one of the differential diagnosis for a patient in an endemic zone or in an area with an epidemic outbreak of dengue fever and direct himself towards getting the right diagnosis and providing pompt treatment which is the key for the patient.

Around the world, doctors prescribe drugs by trial and error. After determining the diagnosis, a doctor prescribes one of the drugs from several ‘suitable’ drugs. When the drug creates unbearable side effects, another drug is often prescribed to address them. If the side effects are severe or the patient is not responding to the drug, another drug is selected with the hope that it may be the ‘right one’. Trial and error prescribing of drugs is frustrating and costly practice of medicine.

For more than a year, the world was paralyzed by the COVID-19 pandemic. It wasn’t until the last few months that hope to a return of a quasi-normal way of living was starting to materialize. The era of the COVID-19 vaccines begun, and with it all sorts of concerns and complaints about their safety and efficacy. Large numbers of people believed the conspiracy theories about the new vaccines thus becoming reluctant and sometimes refused to take the new vaccines. Others justified their concern with the relatively short trial periods compared to previous vaccines that used to take years before adoption. Multiple vaccines emerged around the same time, and thus the fight to conquer the market began. Pfizer-BioNTech, Vaxzervria, Moderna, Sputnik, Coronavac, Janssen, all were rapidly distributed to countries around the globe, in order to reduce the mortality rate and control the pandemic. To make things worse, new viral mutations started being detected and thus shed more doubt on the efficacy of these vaccines. This review article summarizes the literature of these vaccines’ pathophysiology, mechanism of action, dosing and schedule, safety profile and lastly the documented side effects of each vaccine. In conclusion, there is no certainty whether these vaccines will prevent infection and more importantly protect against forward transmission. It is sure that the immunity persists for several months, but the exact duration for every vaccine is yet to be determined. For the time being, safety precautions must still be continued; wearing masks, social distancing and avoiding crowded places must be applied.
