This text weaves some aspects of research in Communication starting from the philosophy of knowledge as a basis for understanding science. It aims to discuss the issue of scientific research in the epistemological perspective, to consider the importance of scientific methodology in its methodical and technical dimensions, as well as to reflect on aspects of the research carried out in Latin America and more specifically in Brazil. It is a theoretical approach based on a non-systematic and non-exhaustive literature review. The existence of thematic and methodological diversity is examined, as well as the apparent tendency of the research to focus on the novelty, mainly in regards to elements related to technology, as object of study. The urgency of strengthening research in Communication is also considered, both theoretical and empirical, and the necessary advance in the design and description of research methods and techniques when presenting results and analyzes.

Abstract Several studies analysed the environmental public expenditures, its allocation and role as an instrument for public action. However, there is still a gap in the literature, since there are no works that integrate and systematize the existing knowledge. Therefore, we conducted an integrative literature review, and selected thirty articles for synthesis, classification and coding based on a system proposed by the authors. We identified that researches on this field are still recent and publications are concentrated in Europe and Latin America. Regarding the research methods, the qualitative approach based on case studies was used to develop the majority of the studies. Also, the studies in general combined different spheres of analysis, discussing topics on performance and description of expenses. The results showed that there is a need for studies that promote themes such as transparency, accounting organization and the creation of indicators, enabling deeper analysis. An agenda with eight research suggestions was proposed based on observed theoretical limitations.

The article presents the results of the study of the value structure of 6-7 years old children. The relevance of the study is caused by the role that childhood has on subsequent human development. The basic values that determine human development are formed at the age of 7 years. However, the study of the value sphere of children presents a number of difficulties - the limited methods and techniques that allow us to explore the value sphere of children, the closeness of the family for scientific research, the insufficient social experience of the child himself, differences in the level of communicative development of children and a number of other difficulties and restrictions. At the same time, the use of various research methods - projective, standardized, observations provides empirical data on the structure of values of 6-7 years old children. Both projective and standardized techniques were used in the study. The results show that the development of the value sphere in children 6-7 occurs very unevenly: from complete amorphism to the presence of a clear hierarchical structure. There are confirmed differences in the structure of preferred values among boys and girls. Girls aged 6-7 choose values related to the communicative sphere, while boys of this age are guided by values that are active character.

Last developments show that over-population, modern life and physical or mental health problems have steered the people to nature and isolated areas. It will be understood that camp and caravan tourism offers exciting experiences which demonstrate the value of the nature gives the chance to learn living with limited minimal conditions and especially provide secure tourism activities alternatively to current Covid-19 pandemic period negative tourism developments. The study aims to show how camp and caravan tourism can be an alternative for modern people insisting on sustainable and healthy tourism activities with social distance and isolated living instead of huge hedonic, unnecessary, luxury consumption and crowd living spaces. The study has constructed on a theoretical approach based on literature review and to support the theories web-based observational and hermeneutic analysis have been hold. Some potential geographies like Latin America and Europe have been selected to explain the contribution of camp and caravan tourism. Key words: Camp and Caravan Tourism; Sustainability; Environmental Sensitivity; Covid-19 Pandemic.

The theoretical and methodological foundation of Prospective Pedagogy has become one of the key issues of contemporary pedagogy, when exploring various aspects of the science of education related to personality formation, to deal requiments for present and future. The analysis perspectives of the prospective education presented the degree of complexity in terms of the characteristics that were inserted in the research, as conditions of its conceptualization. Studies of general epistemology state four main conditions that a certain field of knowledge must meet in order to acquire the status of science: to have its own research object, to develop a conceptual and explanatory system; to have its own methods and techniques; investigation of the object of study reunited in a scientific methodology; and, to have a praxiology of the field, in the sense of influencing, directing, and controlling the phenomena it studies. Thus, it confirms the theoretical conceptualization of the paradigm of prospective education, as science of education.

One of the obligatory elements of any scientific research is a methodical toolkit, the diversity of which determines the reliability of the obtained results and ability to solve the tasks set in the work. The purpose of the article is to identify the factors defining the scientific research process and affect the quality of the results. The methodological tools of the study include questionnaires and factor analysis (Bartlett’s test for sphericity, KMO test (Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin sampling adequacy measure), and MSA test (sampling adequacy measure)). The object of research is 401 scientists and 196 practitioners in the field of management and quality sciences. The questionnaire for practitioners consisted of four parts. The first part includes general issues about the research process, methods and techniques used in it; the second deals with the importance of using methods and techniques in the scientific research in the field of management and quality sciences; the third – provides questions on improving the quality of research; the fourth is demographic. The questionnaire for scientists consists of three parts. The first part addresses the importance of approaches, processes, methods and techniques in research in the field of management and quality sciences; the second – includes questions on improving the research process; the third is demographic. The results are summarized on a five-point Likert scale. Based on the generalization of practitioners’ answers, the main factor of scientific research is the “concept of the research methodology model”, defined as a measure of the scientific research process effectiveness. The results of the analysis help conclude the need to develop new research methods that can increase its effectiveness by managing, planning, organizing and verifying the research process in the field of management and quality sciences. The factors determining the research process and affecting its quality include constant changes in the market. It necessitates the use of various research methods that can form a holistic basis for empirical analysis. The research process quality means checking the degree of implementation and consistency of the objectives in the article with the research problem and the conclusions in it. For the effective functioning of the research process, it is proposed to develop an “algorithm of behavior” of the researcher, which will (after determining the appropriate gap between research methods and features of the research problem) ensure their coordination and increase the added value of the results.

The paper puts forward and validates a proposition about the incorrect attribution of the concept of "study" to methods of scientific research. The authors disclose the relationship between the concepts of "cognition," "research," and "study" and compare the definitions of these concepts existing in literary sources. They also put forward and validate a proposition about the synonymity and syncretism of these concepts, compare the discourses of different authors about the essence of study and reveal contradictions that refute the statement that study is a method of research. The publication examines different classifications of scientific research methods both at the general scientific and scientific-pedagogical levels, as well as reveals methodological confusion in some approaches. As a fundamental aspect of the problem posed in the paper, the authors consider the following question: "If study can be ranked among the methods of scientific research, then among which - empirical, theoretical or general for empirical and theoretical levels of research?” In connection with this aspect of the problem, they carry out a comparative analysis of different approaches and argue the illegality and incorrectness of some of them. The incorrect attribution of such methods of scientific research as analysis, synthesis, abstraction, modeling, etc., only to theoretical methods is justified, and situations are given in which these methods "become" either empirical or theoretical. The paper explores the debate of scientists on the issue of correctness or incorrectness of the approach, which denies the need to take into account the distinctive nature of the specific scientific level of the methodology and, in particular, the methodology of pedagogical research and which confirms that the methodology ends at the level of a general scientific methodology.

A systematic literature review is carried out, detailing the research topics and the methods and techniques used in information science in studies published between 2000 and 2019. The results obtained allow us to affirm that there is no consensus on the core topics of information science, as these evolve and change dynamically in relation to other disciplines, and with the dominant social and cultural contexts. With regard to the research methods and techniques, it can be stated that they have mostly been adopted from social sciences, with the addition of numerical methods, especially in the fields of bibliometric and scientometric research.

Purpose: The aim of this paper was to verify the necessity of devising a tool, method, procedure of selecting research methods and techniques for the research process, in order to increase the quality and reliability of the conducted research. Design/methodology/approach: Within the scope of the research process a questionnaire was used, which was distributed in two forms to management theoreticians and practitioners. 401 management science theoreticians and 118 management practice representatives were examined. Thus, the research problem was defined as follows: Is it necessary to develop (model, procedure, tool, approach) to the research process? Findings: Conclusions derived from the completed analysis of national and foreign literature on management sciences indicate the need to perform a diagnosis. The diagnosis refers to the development of a procedure for selecting methods and techniques for the sake of research processes in management sciences. The research carried out has identified the methods, procedures and approaches that are most relevant to the research process and its various components in management sciences. This makes it possible not only to determine the extent to which individual methods and techniques are used or combined, but also to identify certain regularities in the perception of the research process in this context and other variables that may influence the relevance of the appropriate choice of methods and techniques for the research process in management science in order to increase the reliability, level and quality of the research conducted. Research limitations/implications: The methodological and method-related correctness of the presented work is confirmed by the answers to the questions included in the questionnaires. They most often highlighted barriers in planning and conducting scientific research, obstacles beyond the methodological ones, mistakes most often made in scientific research in management sciences, the applicability of results to business practice. Practical implications: The conclusions of the research confirm that for the effective operation of the research process, it is necessary to develop a kind of 'behavioural algorithm' that will allow methods to be adapted to the posed research problem, once the gap has been defined, which will result in added value for practice. This is also confirmed by reactions of management practitioners to these statements. 89% of the surveyed practitioners believe that there is a need to develop a model, procedure, tool or approach to support the appropriate selection of methods for the research process.Social implications: In management sciences it is genuinely easy to create ‘new theories’ that are not finally verified. A swift introduction of new, recommended management-related concepts and methods, as well as their rapid rejection resulted in negative organisational changes. It would be difficult to determine the reasons why the applied methods lack effectiveness. Was the failure triggered by an inadequate method used for a management process or by its unskilful implementation. Originality/value: One verified the necessity of devising a tool, method, procedure of selecting research methods and techniques for the research process, in order to increase the quality and reliability of the conducted research. The elaborated methods, procedures or models were verified in practice with the aim of making the research reliable.

In the discipline of Islamic law research, strong proofing and clear Istinbat method are key pillars in the construction of Islamic law based on the application of the science of usul al-fiqh and maqasid al-shari'ah. However, what happens at the state of Johor’s fatwa institution is the opposite. The fatwa research methods applied by the Fatwa Committee of Johor in resolving current fatwa issues is not based on the right and true discipline of Islamic law research. In fact, current inputs related to fatwa issues are not explicitly stated in the method of determining the law either in the form of reality or scientifically verified. Therefore, this paper will discuss the fatwa procedures undertaken by the Fatwa Committee of Johor based on the methods applied in resolving current issues. The research methodology adopted is library and interview methods. This study shows that fatwa management and production in the state of Johor is placed under the jurisdiction of the Mufti of Johor’s Department. The methods adopted by the Fatwa Committee of Johor covers two methods, namely: internal research methods including literature review through the application of original source and proofs based on syarak. Second: field research method that includes an external review or going to the location of study such as conducting observation, questionnaires and interviews including referrals to specialists of different fields. Maslahah and mafsdah consideration are also implemented by the Fatwa Committee in every fatwa decision based on the standard that meets the interests of maqasid al-shari'ah.
