This research aims at measuring the improvement of the students’ CPS ability through the SBL model implementation through thematic learning. This research employed a quasi-experimental design with non-equivalent control group design involving all fourth grade students in public primary schools in Sumedang Regency. Meanwhile, the sample used in the research was one of public primary schools in North of Sumedang Regency by determining that 30 students of class IV-A included in the experimental class, and 32 students of class IV-B included in the control class. Based on the test instrument of CPS ability, the research results revealed that the SBL model implementation was able to improve significantly the CPS ability in thematic learning in the experimental class.

This study aims to determine the effect of ethnomatemics based Realistic Mathematics Education models on the mathematical literacy ability of grade IV elementary school students in the 17th city of Bengkulu on flat construction material. This research is a quantitative research. The research method used was quasi-experimental research using the matching only pretest-posttest control group design. The population in this study was the Elementary School Cluster 17 Bengkulu City. The sampling technique uses cluster random sampling. The sample in this study were students of class IV B Elementary School 04 Bengkulu City as an experimental class and students of class IV C Elementary School 11 Bengkulu as a control class. The research instrument used in the form of tests in the form of essay questions provided through pretest and posttest. The instrument used in the study was a test sheet in the form of a breakdown problem for the context of mathematical literacy. Based on the t-test calculation of students' posttest results, there is a tcount of 4.24> ttable of 2.01, so it can be concluded that there is an influence of using ethnomatemics-based Realistic Mathematic Education models on the ability of mathematical literacy in the context components of class IV students in Cluster 17 Bengkulu City

This research is motivated by the importance of mathematical reasoning abilities for primary school students. This research aims at looking at the effect of the Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract (CPA) approach on the enhancement of mathematical reasoning abilities of primary school students. This research method is a quasi-experiment with pre-test and post-test control group design in Mathematics subjects with the theme of data presentation. The research sample consisted of 121 fifth grade students in two primary schools in Bekasi Regency. The test and non-test instruments were involved in this research. The results revealed that there wasthe influence between the CPA approach and students' mathematical reasoning abilities, and the achievement and enhancement of mathematical reasoning abilities of students who got learning with the CPA approach werebetter than students who got conventional learning based on all student review and a category of Prior Mathematical Ability (PMA) high, moderate and low. In conclusion, the mathematical reasoning ability of primary school students can be improved by applying the CPA approach.

Abstract. The purpose of this study is twofold: 1) to develop a service-learning-based module training artificial intelligence (AI) subject (SLBM-TAIS), and 2) to evaluate the effect of SLBM-TAIS on pre-service teachers’ (PSTs’) practical knowledge and motivation, as well as primary school students' attitude towards AI in China. Participants of this study comprised 60 PSTs and 107 primary school students. The experimental research in this study followed the quasi-experimental non-randomized pre-test and post-test control group design. The PSTs were divided into experimental and control groups, and the primary school students followed the same grouping. The PSTs in the experimental group taught AI subjects to the primary school students in the experimental group, while the PSTs in the control group taught AI subjects to the primary school students in the control group. The results of the study showed that SLBM-TAIS was effective in training PSTs to teach AI subjects to primary school students. Furthermore, the SLBM-TAIS developed in this study offered a unique technique for training PSTs and primary school students that could increase PSTs' practical knowledge and motivation, as well as primary school students' attitudes toward AI. The findings from this study are important in the field of educational psychology, and its contribution has several theoretical and practical implications.   Keywords: Attitude; artificial intelligence; pre-service teachers; primary school students; practical knowledge; motivation

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of thematic learning by applying an environmental approach to the knowledge of Seluma Primary-School students about the Our Friends Environment. The research used is the only matching pretest-posttest control group design. The populations are all grade V students of SDN Seluma in the academic year 2017/2018. The research samples are grade V students of SDN 01 and SDN 13 Seluma. The instrument used is a test sheet to measure students' knowledge about the environment of our friends. The results of the research data are analyzed inferentially by independent sample t-test. The results of the study obtained a significance value (2- tailed) is lower than 0.025. The conclusion of this study is that there is a significant influence of thematic learning by applying an environmental approach to the knowledge of SDN Seluma students about the environment of our friends.

<p><strong>Abstract:</strong> The purpose of this research is improving academic self-concept in high school students by a cognitive group counseling activities with reframing techniques modivication. The type of research used quasi experimental design that is non-equivalent control group design. The results of this study showed that there is an increase in students academic self-concepts. This is evidenced by the acquisition of Mann-Withney U between the experimental group and the control group with a value <em>Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed)</em> of 0,27 and this results less than 0,5 so it can be concluded that cognitive group counselling with reframing techniques is effective for improving academic self-concept in high school students. The conclusion of this research is the students academic self-concepts in islamic high school Al-Maarif Singosari improved after given cognitive group counselling services with reframing techniques. </p><strong>Abstrak:</strong><em> </em>Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk meningkatkan konsep diri akademik siswa SMA melalui kegiatan konseling kelompok kognitif yang dimodifikasi dengan teknik <em>reframing</em>. Penelitian ini merupakan <em>quasi experimental design</em> dengan jenis <em>non-equivalent control group design. </em>Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan konsep diri akademik yang dimiliki siswa SMA. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan perolehan hasil uji <em>Mann-Whitney U</em> antara kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol yaitu dengan nilai <em>Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed)</em> sebesar 0,27 dan hasil ini kurang dari 0,5 sehingga dapat ditegaskan bahwasanya konseling kelompok kognitif dengan strategi <em>reframing</em> efektif untuk mengubah konsep diri akademik siswa SMA.<strong> </strong>Kesimpulan penelitian ini yaitu konsep diri akademik siswa SMA Al-Maarif Singosari meningkat setelah diberi layanan konseling kelompok kognitif dengan teknik <em>reframing</em>.

The aim of this research was to investigate the effect of problem-based learning on students’ beliefs about physics and learning physics. The research design is quasi-experimental, non-equivalent control group design with samples were senior high school students grade XI at SMAN 1 Jambi City. The research used the Colorado Learning Atttudes About Science Survey (CLASS). Through data analysis using ANCOVA Test can be seen that there was no significant result effect of problem-based learning on students’ beliefs about physics and learning physics. The study’s finding indicates that students’ beliefs about characteristic and obtaining knowledge are difficult to change. Nonetheless, the use of various learning models that focus on the formation of the model building on the physics world through problem solving that are contextual and real, as well as providing opportunities for students to actively engage in problem solving can help students develop the belief that they have about the physics from novice-like belief into expert-like belief.Penelitian ini bertujuan menginvestigasi pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah terhadap belief siswa tentang fisika dan pembelajaran fisika. Desain penelitian kuasi eksperimen non-equivalent control group design dengan sampel siswa kelas XI Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri (SMAN) 1 Kota Jambi. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuesioner the Colorado Learning Attitudes About Science Survey (CLASS). Hasil uji Ancova terlihat bahwa tidak ada pengaruh signifikan penggunaan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah terhadap belief siswa tentang fisika dan pembelajaran fisika. Temuan penelitian mengindikasikan bahwa belief siswa tentang karakteristik dan cara memperoleh suatu pengetahuan sulit untuk diubah. Meskipun demikian, penggunaan berbagai model pembelajaran yang berfokus pada pada pembentukan model (model-building) dari dunia fisika melalui pemecahan masalah-masalah yang bersifat kontekstual dan nyata, serta memberikan kesempatan siswa untuk aktif terlibat dalam pemecahan masalah dapat membantu siswa mengembangkan belief yang mereka miliki tentang fisika dari belief sebagai seorang pemula (novice-like belief) menjadi belief sebagai seorang ahli (expert-like belief).

This study investigated the effects of Cueing questions as instructional scaffolding on Secondary school students‟ interest in biology in Udi Education Zone, Enugu State. Quasi-experimental design, specifically the Pre-test, Post-test, Non-equivalent control group design was used. Three research questions and three null hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. A sample of 140 students from four intact classes purposively selected from government co-educational secondary schools in Udi Education Zone, were used for the study. The main instrument for the study was Biology Interest Inventory (BII) which was developed, validated and used for data collection. The data collected from BII was trail tested for reliability using Cronbach Alpha statistics. Reliability index of 0.86 was obtained which guaranteed the use of the instrument for the study. The treatment group was taught selected biology concepts using cueing questions as instructional scaffolding while the control group was taught without the cueing questions. The study lasted for 6 weeks. Data were analysed using mean and standard deviation to answer the research questions while analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) was used to test the null hypotheses at 0.05% level of significance . The findings indicated that cueing questions used as scaffold was more effective than the one without scaffold in enhancing interest in Biology. The finding equally indicated that there was a significant interaction effect of gender and strategies on students‟ mean interest scores in Biology.

This study aims to determine how much influence the model of learning picture and picture assisted media game wheel of luck to the activity and student learning outcomes on science subjects class IV SDN Sendangmulyo 02 Semarang. The form of this research is quantitative research with Quasi Experimental Design design with Non-equivalent Control Group Design design. Sampling technique used is Nonprobability. The population of this study is all students of class IV SDN Sendangmulyo 02 Semarang. Data collection techniques in this study using documentation, observation, tests and interviews. Data analysis techniques consist of normality test, homogeneity test, completeness test and t test. Data analysis using t test obtained result 4,452 bigger than t table that is 1,990. The result of the research shows that the use of picture and picture learning model with the media of wheel of lucky game has an effect on the activity and the result of learning of fourth grade students of SDN Sendangmulyo 02 Semarang on the concept of animal life cycle. Keywords: Picture and Picture Model, Lucky Wheel, Activity and Learning Outcomes. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya aktivitas belajar yang mempengaruhi hasil belajar siswa dan akhirnya hasil belajar siswa tidak mencapai KKM. Bentuk penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain Quasi Experimental Design dengan bentuk desain Non-equivalent Control Group Design. Teknik sampling yang digunakan yaitu Nonprobability. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas IV SDN Sendangmulyo 02 Semarang. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam  penelitian ini menggunakan dokumentasi, observasi, tes dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data terdiri dari uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji ketuntasan belajar dan uji t. Analisis data menggunakan uji t diperoleh hasil 4,452 lebih besar dari t tabel yaitu 1,990. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan model pembelajaran picture and picture berbantuan media permainan roda keberuntungan berpengaruh terhadap aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa kelas IV SDN Sendangmulyo 02 Semarang pada konsep daur hidup hewan.Kata kunci: Model Picture and Picture, Roda keberuntungan, Aktivitas dan Hasil Belajar.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas pemanfaatan video pembelajaran berbasis Geogebra dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan. Desain penelitian kuasi eksperimen ini adalah nonequivalent control group design. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara dan tes kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji U Mann-Whitney. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa yang menggunakan video pembelajaran berbasis Geogebra lebih baik dibandingkan siswa yang belajar dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Video pembelajaran berbasis Geogebra efektif dan berpengaruh positif terhadap peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Video pembelajaran berbasis Geogebra ini dapat dijadikan sebagai salah satu media pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa.The use of learning video-based Geogebra to improve students’ ability in understanding mathematical conceptsAbstractThis study aimed to describe the effectiveness of the use of learning video-based Geogebra to improve Vocational High School students’ ability in understanding mathematical concepts. This quasi-experimental research was a non-equivalent control group design. Data collection was done through interviews and tests of students’ ability in understanding mathematical concepts. The data analysis uses the U Mann-Whitney test. The results of this research show that the improvement of students’ ability to understanding a mathematical concept by using learning video-based Geogebra was better than students who learn by using conventional learning. Learning video-based Geogebra was effective and have a positive effect on improving students’ mathematical concepts. Learning video-based Geogebra could be used as one of the learning media to improve students’ mathematical concepts.

Establishing students’ pronunciation needs a promising instructional method. One of the teachers’ efforts to develop students’ pronunciation is applying the shadowing technique. The shadowing technique was able to facilitate students to practice pronunciation skills. This study was categorized with a quasi-experimental study with the non-equivalent control group design. The samples were taken randomly using a purposive random sampling. The samples consist of 70 students that were divided into two classes, namely the experimental and control classes. The data were collected through interview, multiple-choice test, and record. Here it used descriptive and T-test analysis to find the ways they learned and the results. Finally, the researchers considered that shadowing technique is very good to be applied by the teachers and lecturers in class. The most surprising aspect of the findings are; 1) the students were motivated as long as teaching and learning conducted; 2) their response mostly positive to the way they learned; 3) and they got significant change on their pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary. This change can be seen from their ability in expressing their ideas and 4) inferential statistic results; t-test was 4.077 and t-table was 2.021 with degree of freedom (df) 44 and the level of significance (0.05) in 95%.
