ABSTRACT: The implementation of Lesson Study provides a new perspective in the context of pedagogy in schools among teachers. This article proposes a short-term strategy that can be implemented in developing School-Based Lesson Study at school towards the establishment of learning community at Special Education. In School-Based Lesson Study, the teachers from various backgrounds have done Lesson Study activities together regardless the subjects they teach. The strategy that can be implemented by the school in the first year is to train the core staffs, to clarify the vision on child education, to have similar perception of teachers, and to create the system of lesson activities. The second and the third year is the time for evaluating the progress of the implementation of School-Based Lesson Study at Special Education based on certain characters, namely the pupils lesson and study from each other, and the teachers learn from each other through meeting in order to improve their teaching skill. KEY WORD: School-Based Lesson Study; Learning Community; Special Education; Short-Term Strategy; Activities Together. ABSTRAKSI: “Strategi Jangka Pendek untuk Mengembangkan Lesson Studi Berbasis Sekolah Menuju Masyarakat Pembelajar di Sekolah Luar Biasa di Indonesia”. Implementasi Lesson Studi menyediakan perspektif baru dalam konteks pedadogis kepada guru-guru di sekolah. Artikel ini mengusulkan sebuah strategi jangka pendek yang dapat diterapkan dalam mengembangkan Lesson Studi Berbasis Sekolah menuju terbentuknya masyarakat pembelajar di SLB (Sekolah Luar Biasa). Lesson Studi Berbasis Sekolah di mana guru dari berbagai bidang studi bersama-sama melakukan kegiatan Lesson Studi tanpa melihat latar belakang bidang studi yang dipegang oleh guru. Strategi yang diterapkan pada tahun pertama yang dapat dilakukan oleh sekolah adalah membina “core staff” (tenaga inti), mengklarifikasi visi pendidikan anak, menyamakan persepsi  unsur­unsur  keahlian  guru, dan menciptakan sistem aktivitas pembelajaran. Pada tahun kedua dan ketiga, mengevaluasi tingkat keberhasilan pelaksanaan Lesson Studi Berbasis Sekolah di SLB berdasarkan karakteristik, yaitu anak-anak  saling  menyimak  dan  saling  belajar satu  sama lain, dan para guru saling belajar satu sama lain melalui pertemuan untuk mengasah keterampilan mengajar yang kreatif.KATA KUNCI: Lesson Studi Berbasis Sekolah; Masyarakat Pembelajar; Sekolah Luar Biasa; Strategi Jangka Pendek; Aktivitas Bersama.About the Author: Dr. Bastiana is a Lecturer at the Faculty of Education UNM (State University of Makassar) in Makassar City, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. This study aimed to determine whether there was a correlation between the level of students’ understanding of SBM (School Based Management) and students’ attitudes towards SBM in the Department of Educational Administration, Faculty of Education, Makassar State University. This research was a correlational research. The total population was 180 students and 42 of them were selected as samples taken through purposive random sampling technique. The research data were analyzed using Pearson Product Moment Correlation. The results showed that there was a significant correlation between students' understanding and their attitudes towards SBM. It can be concluded that the higher the level of students’ understanding of School Based Management, the more positive their attitude towards School Based Management.

The purposes of this research were to compare the curriculum of Special Education (PLB) Faculty of Education (FIP), State University of Jakarta (UNJ) with special education curriculum of HNU Programs, China, and to obtain an international curriculum for majors sujects in PLB FIP UNJ in 2010. The research which was conducted at FIP and HNU employed descriptive method and the data were collected using observation and interviews. The comparison between the two universities indicated that the special education curriculum of FIP UNJ is more comprehensive and student’s competency to be achieved consists of five areas: personality development, knowledge and skills, working skills, working behaviors, and social life. The research findings indicate that the international curriculum of Special Education Programs (PLB), FIP, UNJ, can be used for overseas students particularly China who are interested in special education.

This study was on the influence of sex and age on depression among first year undergraduates in Cross River State, Nigeria. The population of the study was 2,800 first year students of the two Universities in Cross River State (University of Calabar and Cross River State University of Science and Technology). A sample of 560 first year students was drawn from the institutions to take part in the study using random sampling technique. This comprised of 269 males and 291 females. A questionnaire with two sections was used for data collection. Section A, elicited responses for sex and age while section B was an adapted Beck’s depression inventory to gather information on the degree of depression among the students. The statistical tools used were the independent t-test and ANOVA. T-test was used to analyze responses on sex while the ANOVA was used to analyze responses on age and depression. The results showed that the males were more depressed than the females and depression also increased with age.It was recommended among other things that parents and sponsors of these students should show equal care in terms of giving upkeep money to both the males and the females. People should also be encouraged to go to school at early age.

Premarital education for students is considered necessary because, at this time, a person must be prepared to enter married life. Premarital education is one of the preparations that can be done by early adults in marriage and has a goal in preventing divorce. This study aims to formulate a hypothetical comprehensive guidance and counselling program to improve students' self-readiness in facing marriage and family life. This type of research is development research or Research and Development methods, namely research strategies used to produce specific products. This research will be conducted at Padang State University, namely to students of Special Education, Faculty of Education. The results of this study are (1) In general, special education department’s students of the Faculty of Education, Padang State University, as early adults, have less interest in preparing for their marriage. (2) The comprehensive premarital guidance and counselling model for students developed in this study is formulated from a theoretical framework based on field findings, consisting of 7 rational components, key concepts, vision & mission, model objectives, the content of guidance and counselling, control, and organization & personnel. (3) Based on the model validation test conducted by three counsellors on the General Guidelines for the Development of Comprehensive Premarital Guidance and Models for Students, it shows that the contents of the general guidelines are categorized as suitable or adequate.

The study focused basically on measuring the relationship between the material cost of the students benefits program and the benefits which are earned by it, which was distributed on college students in the initial stages (matinee) and to show the extent of the benefits accruing from the grant program compared to the material burdens which matched and the extent of success or failure of the experience and its effect from o scientific and side on the Iraqi student through these tough economic circumstances experienced by the country in general, and also trying to find ways of proposed increase or expansion of distribution in the future in the event of proven economic feasibility from the program. An data has been taking from the data fro the Department of Financial Affairs and the Department of Studies and Planning at the University of Diyala with taking an data representing an actual and minimized pattern and questionnaires to a sample of students from the Department of Life Sciences in the Faculty of Education of the University of Diyala on the level of success and failure of students in the first year of the grant and the year before for the purpose of distribution comparison. The importance of the study to measure the extent of interest earned in comparision whit the material which is expenseon the program of grant (grant of students) to assist the competent authorities to continue or not in the program of student grants for the coming years.

<p><em>P</em><em>enelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui </em><em>komparasi</em><em> pembelajarn IPA terpadu tipe connected </em><em> dan tipe webbed </em><em>terhadap hasil belajar kognitif siswa</em><em> pada materi sistem pernapasan di SMP Negeri 11 Semarang</em><em>. </em><em>Penelitian ini menggunakan desain quasi eksperimen non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling dan menghasilkan kelas VIII F sebagai kelas eksperimen 1 (connected) dan VIII G sebagai kelas eksperimen 2 (webbed). Instrumen yang digunakan dalam bentuk tes pilihan ganda, lembar observasi terbuka dan lembar wawancara. Penelitian dilakukan karena banyak guru yang tidak mengetahui tentang  pembelajaran IPA terpadu, hasil belajar kognitif siswa masih rendah dan untuk mengukur profesionalisme guru melalui lessnon study for learning community terhadap hasil belajar kognitif siswa. Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan data diperoleh rata-rata skor pretest pada kelas eksperimen 1 adalah 56,12 dan kelas eksperimen 2 skor rata-ratanya adalah 55,07. Sedangkan rata-rata skor posttest pada kelas eksperimen 1 adalah 74,2 dengan kriteria baik dan pada kelas eksperimen 2 adalah 80,1 dengan kriteria sangat baik. Analisis data tes dilakukan dengan teknik statistik uji-t dua pihak untuk menguji perbedaan rata-rata skor hasil belajar kognitif siswa dengan taraf signifikan α=0,05. Diperoleh nilai hasil t<sub>hitung</sub> = 0,4204 dan t<sub>tabel</sub> = 2,0243 yang berarti hipotesis diterima. Nilai rata-rata posttest hasil belajar kognitif kelas eksperimen 2 lebih tinggi dari kelas eksperimen 1 sehingga disimpulkan bahwa ada perbedaan pembalajaran IPA terpadu tipe connected dan webbed melalui LSLC terhadap hasil belajar kognitif siswa pada materi sistem pernapasan di SMP Negeri 11 Semarang dan IPA terpadu. </em>Komparasi hasil belajar kognitif siswa pada materi sistem pernapasan manusia yang memiliki presentase dengan kriteria sangat baik adalah pembelajaran IPA terpadu tipe <em>webbed</em> dan pembelajaran IPA terpadu tipe <em>connected</em> memiliki presentase dengan kriteria baik melalui <em>Lesson Study for Learning Community</em> sehingga pembelajaran IPA terpadu yang efektif untuk digunakan pada materi sistem pernapasan manusia melalui <em>lesson study for learning community</em> di SMP N 11 Semarang adalah tipe <em>webbed</em>.</p>

This research aims to promote the development of the character of learning community at Madrasah Tsanawiyah of Bantul Regency Yogyakarta, and two problems posed to be addressed: why the character of community learning pattern does not realize as it has been expected, and how does the development of the character of learning community at MTs of Bantul look like? The research uses the Research and Development model that is consisted of four stages: exploration, development, tests, and dissemination. The data were collected by means of observatiosn, interviews, questionaire, and review of documentation. The results show: (1) the character of learning community at the MTs in Bantul Regency has not been fully established because the teachers were not active in preparing their lesson study, and they did not benefit from it. Also, they were too busy in fulfilling their obligations as teachers; (2) the development of the character of learning community at MTs in Bantul could be implemented through Classroom Action Research-based lesson study plans which are consisted of five stages: consolidation of lesson study concepts, explanation of Classroom Action Research as a form of scientific publication, planning, implementation of action, and reflection.
