The purpose of this study is to develop and validate the Graduate Marketability Model (GMM) for Malaysian Vocational Colleges (KV) Business Management graduates. The approach used was quantitative with a survey design involving 243 Business Management graduates from KVs across Malaysia. The sample selection was based on simple random sampling techniques. Subsequent findings of the PLS-SEM analysis of the measurement model inidicated that the CR values obtained for each construct were in the range of 0.889 to 0.990 where the skills contributed the highest (CR) value (0.990) whilst the involvement in development scored the lowest CR value (0.800). Overall, this study shows that the three main constructs are important in contributing to the marketability of graduates, which are skills, Proactive Career Behavioursand Positivity Traits.Implications of the study prove that improvements to the tertiary education system are necessary so that graduates are always able to meet the needs and requirements of industry employers. The next development of GMM will be able to assist more relevant parties, especially the Ministry of Education Malaysia (MOE) and the Technical and Vocational Education Division (BPTV), to be a useful guide at producing marketable graduates.

Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) have been identified as a potential innovation for improving teaching and learning. This research aims to develop and evaluate a measurement model of students’ MOOC-efficacy. The study conceptualized students’ MOOC-efficacy in four dimensions of information searching, making queries, MOOC learning, and MOOC usability. Data were collected with a 23 items questionnaire whose reliability indexes ranged from 0.822 to 0.890, identified from university students who have had some experience with MOOCs and who willingly volunteered to participate in the research (N=1,524). A sample of 623 respondents was drawn through simple random sampling. The Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was adopted for data analysis. The findings designate that four-dimensional students’ MOOC-efficacy measurement model achieved an acceptable level of fit (RMSEA = 0.061, CFI = 0.935 and a normed chi-square, χ2/df = 3.322). All statistics provide empirical evidence that the students’ MOOC-efficacy measurement model is psychometrically sound in terms of validity and reliability. The measurement model of students’ MOOC-efficacy provides further insights into what works in an open online environment which may be used to fulfill learners’ needs and preferences.

Student Council is a representative structure through which students in a secondary school become involved in school affairs. The study set out to investigate student council participation in the management of discipline in public secondary schools in Teso North Sub-County in Busia County, Kenya. The study sought to establish: the influence of student council participation in the formulation of rules and regulations on management of discipline, and the influence of student council involvement in formulating punishment on the management of discipline. The target population was 7379 students and 189 teachers and 27 principals from 27 schools. The research employed descriptive survey design using a random sample of 365 students, 18 teachers and 9 principals. This sample size was determined using Krejcie and Morgan’s table of sample determination and using coefficient variation of 30% and a standard error of 2% through stratified simple random sampling technique. The data was collected using a selfadministered questionnaire. The study established that schools involved students in designing punishment but students never took punishment positively and that common disciplinary problems experienced in schools was due to lack of students involvement. It was further established that students were haphazardly involved in the school management of students’ discipline. Thus the study recommends schools to empower students’ council in which students’ views and ideas are heard and discussed; Ministry of education to organize and offer seminars where school heads are well sensitized on involving students in school management.

According to a survey by the American Management Association, managers spend 24% of their time managing conflicts. This is a waste of time as a resource, reducing this time wastage would mean improving the quality of management. Conflict is inevitable and a natural phenomenon, the secondary school principals in Uriri and Nyatike sub-counties have not been spared of the challenges of conflict management on teacher job satisfaction. Therefore, the study aimed to determine the principals’ conflict management techniques on teacher job satisfaction in public secondary schools in Uriri and Nyatike sub-counties, Kenya. It was guided by Engle& Kane, M. J. (2004 Herzberg's two-factor theory and a conceptual framework used to show the interplay between the principals’ conflict management techniques and teacher job satisfaction. The research employed a descriptive survey design to obtain information. The target study population consisted of 1960 teachers, 87 principals in 87 secondary schools in Uriri and Nyatike sub-counties. Stratified simple random sampling was used to obtain a sample of 29 principals and 319 teachers. Data was collected using questionnaires. Face and content validity of the instruments was determined by experts in educational management and policy studies. In order to enhance the reliability of the instrument, a pilot study was conducted in 6 secondary schools in the sub-counties, which were excluded from the main study. The reliability was tested using test-retest method and a Pearson’s r coefficient of 0.79 for principals’ and 0.83 for teachers’ questionnaires obtained. Quantitative data was analysed using frequency count, percentages and mean. The study established that integrating obliging had a strong and positive correlation with teacher job satisfaction, dominating and avoiding techniques had p>0.05 which is not statistically significant. The findings add to the existing body of knowledge and may be useful in developing guidelines for principals and other stakeholders to enable them to manage schools effectively. Also, help the Ministry of Education to formulate training materials for school managers to enable them to manage conflicts effectively and to enable teachers and educators to improve and manage conflicts in schools more effectively and efficiently.

Acquiring information on the complete development of children during their early childhood, observing their development, and identifying the domains in which they need support have always been very important. There is a parallelism between development in the early period and learning, and development learning is best achieved by learning in children. Children have very different development patterns. As development occurs simultaneously on a broad spectrum of domains, progress in one domain affects the progress in another domain also. Thus, identification of problems in early childhood is important in terms of assessment of child’s development and learning. The purpose of th study is adaptation of the early learning observation and rating scale—teacher’s form, developed by Coleman, West, and Gillis, to Turkish and the Turkish culture and evaluation of the causality relations between the learning domains through Path analysis in the Turkish sample. Methodologic descriptive and model testing design methods have been used. The study sample consisted of 166 children in the 4-5-year-old group, receiving education in 59 preschool education institutions, and 20 teachers. Simple random sampling method was used in sample selection. Following the Turkish adaptation processes, the validity and reliability of the scale were examined with a pilot study. It was observed that the scale had high appearance-social and scope-construct validity, and the results obtained were coherent with the usefulness and contribution results obtained in the original study. Strong linear relationships were found between each of the seven learning domains in the scale. The early learning observation and rating scale—teacher’s form, which was adapted to Turkish, was suitable for use in the Turkish sample and revealed the competence or incompetence condition of children in the learning domains of children correctly and realistically.
