The article addresses the problem of the negative impact of the irregular use of electronic information carriers on primary school pupils’ psychophysical development. Foreign researches and WHO data on the allowed time of use of information devices for children and teenagers, their impact on heath, speech and motor development of the younger generation are presented. The concept “information device” is defined, the main contradictions of the active use of information devices by children are described which are resulted, on the one hand, from the impossibility of education and socialisation of the younger generation apart from electronic information devices, and, on the other hand, due to their negative impact on children’s health and psychophysical development. The choice of the age group for the study is substantiated – the primary school age, at which psychophysical and psychosocial changes take place, significant for the entire subsequent period of a child’s schooling. It is emphasised that at this age period children’s computer dependence has not yet formed, even a positive effect of the use of a computer on the mental development of a primary school pupil is noted. At the same time, the use of information devices in the education and leisure of primary school pupils requires a proper organisation of their educational work, balance of various activities, formation of pupils’ conscious behaviour, which will contribute both to the education of the child and his / her proper psychophysical development. The content of the experimental research work, which was carried out at the elementary grades of schools in Odessa region involving second-third-grade pupils and their parents, is described. The results of the surveys represented by pupils and their parents, pedagogical observations, assessment of pupils’ performance, the characteristics of their speech and motor development have shown an increase in the time allotted to children to work with information devices and the negative impact of their irregular use on the psychophysical development of primary school children.

The article is devoted to the role of increase of junior schoolchildren’s cognitive activity as an important condition for the development of cognitive abilities of  learners.  Psycho-pedagogical  support  should  be  focused  on  the  development of cognitive functions of junior schoolchildren, and psychologists and parents should be involved in this process, as well as the teachers. Traditionally, psycho-pedagogical support at primary school focuses on the child's adaptation to the new educational environment.  We  consider  that  a  child  needs  the  same  support  in  the  process of mastering  the  curriculum.  There  is  no  true  support  without  an  emotional involvement and empathy, and as a result cognitive activity of a child might suffer greatly. It was proven by empirical results obtained in an ordinary school, where no innovative teaching methods are used. At the end of primary school pupils have a significantly reduced motivation, teachers express no serious interest in problems of junior high school students. Not entirely satisfactory educational environment also could not provide a positive influence on the development of cognitive sphere.

We investigated teachers' and children's experiences of philosophy with children by analysing the content of interviews with primary school teachers and discussions with groups of primary school pupils. The results show that regular philosophy sessions with children can have an impact on teachers’ view of themselves as educators, their approach to teaching and their personal development. From the children’s point of view, the most important and meaningful aspect, aside from the content of philosophical discussion, was the opportunity to think together in an open-ended way. A key component of the collective construction of meaning was uncertainty, which is an integral feature of philosophical discussion. These findings link with the idea of “citizen as agent” in a variety of ways. Philosophising with children leads to a more collaborative and democratic teaching style, giving children the space to bring their own interests and activities to the discussion. This aligns with pupils’ enjoyment of the openness and uncertainty of philosophical issues, their appreciation of the opportunity to engage with different ideas and viewpoints, and their willingness to rise to the challenge of revising their own positions and changing their thinking.

Background: The study presents a methodology for the hygienic assessment of school educational programs from the point of view of safety for the health of students and of effectiveness in improving the quality of education. The aim of the study was a hygienic assessment of educational programs in primary schools. Methods and Results: The study involved primary school students (n=245) aged between 8 and 9.5 years: 120 children studying under the “Planet of knowledge” program (Group 1) and 125 children studying under the “Primary school of the XXI century” program (Group 2). The hygienic factors are studied using the methodology of assessing the intensity of educational work and the conditions of the organization of the educational process. The obtained data are compared with the main criteria of the state of children’s neuropsychological development. We found that the program “Primary school of the XXI century” is characterized by the intensity of educational work (2.7±0.13 points) and approaches to the third degree, according to the criterion of intellectual loads. In contrast, the program “Planet of knowledge” is characterized by a lower intensity of educational work – 2.1±0.08 points (P=0.000) . The indicators of sensory and emotional intensity of educational work under the program “Primary school of the XXI century” were also statistically higher. Conclusions: - The high intensity of educational work does not ensure high rates and levels of intellectual development and mental performance of children. - The hygienic assessment of children’s educational activities should include a comprehensive hygienic examination of the educational program and the means used in the process of its implementation. - An educational program may be allowed to be used in educational organizations only after a hygienic examination of its application in the educational process.

The article substantiates the urgency of the problem of professional training of future teachers to organize the dialogue training of primary school students in the context of integration into the European educational space and the conceptual foundations of the New Ukrainian school. The main methodological foundations of the study are defined: philosophical and pedagogical anthropology, philosophical and pedagogical hermeneutics and philosophical and pedagogical synergetics. The author substantiates the essence of the educational dialogue and its advantages, in contrast to the traditional teaching methods at primary school. The contents of dialogue communication and its components are determined. The principles of organization of dialogue training for junior pupils are described. The indicative model of forming the readiness of the future teacher of elementary school for the dialogue education is presented, in which the main components of this readiness (motivational, cognitive, socially-communicative and operational-technological) are singled out. It is emphasized that the effectiveness of projecting the educational environment for the implementation of the idea of dialogue education for junior pupils depends to a large extent on the level of the teacher's communicative culture and the components of this culture (communicative settings, knowledge, communicative skills, etc.) are described.
