East Nusa Tenggara is dominated by dry land which has the potential for the development of horticultural crops. Horticultural plants that are widely cultivated by the community are spinach. However, in reality, spinach production in this province is still fluctuating, this is due to the low knowledge of farmers about providing proper nutrition for plant growth and development. For this reason, this study aims to determine the production of spinach in dry land due to cow manure and atonic application. This research was conducted in the experimental field of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of the Teachers Association 1945. The design used was a factorial randomized block design (RBD), which consisted of 2 factors: factor I: cow manure and factor II: growth stimulant (atonic). The results obtained were: The application of cow manure and atonic manure to spinach on dry land had a very significant effect on plant height (7,55 -F hitung> 4,77-F Tabel), number of leaves (10.85-F hitung> 4,77-F Tabel), fresh weight (13,98-F hitung) > 4,77-F Tabel) and dry weight (6,44 -F hitung) > 4,77 -F Tabel).

Melon (Cucumis melo L.) contains various important vitamins and minerals, while melon consumption in Indonesia is still far below the standard. The increase in melon production every year has not met the needs of melons. Intensification of acid dry land is one of the efforts to increase melon production, because of the vast potential of the land, but it is necessary to improve the soil properties. The purpose of this study was to test the formulations on the growth and yield of melon plants on acid dry land. The study was conducted in a greenhouse using a non-factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD), with 8 treatments, namely: (A) without Lime + Phonska NPK Fertilizer (100%); (B) without Lime + Phonska NPK Fertilizer + Cow Manure (50%:100%); (C) without Lime + Phonska Npk Fertilizer + Petrobio Fertilizer (50%:100%); (D) without Lime + Phonska NPK Fertilizer + Cattle Fertilizer + Petrobio Fertilizer (50%:50%:50%); (E) with Lime + Phonska NPK Fertilizer (100%); (F) with Lime + Phonska Npk Fertilizer + Cow Manure (50%:100%); (G) with Lime + Phonska Npk Fertilizer + Petrobio Fertilizer (50%:100%); (H) with Lime + Phonska Npk Fertilizer + Cow Manure + Petrobio Fertilizer (50%:50%:50%) with 4 replications. Data analysis used Duncan's Multiple Range Test. The results showed that the fertilizer formulation with additional lime had a significant effect on fruit weight, fruit diameter, and fruit harvest age. Fertilization formulation without the need for high doses of organic fertilizer to achieve optimal yields.

The goal of this research was to identify the dryland cereal crop seed plasma types growing around Kelimutu National Park, located in Ende district on the island of Flores in Indonesia, by observing crop morphology and cultivation techniques.  Cereal crops represent the largest source of carbohydrates in the regional diet in comparison to other food groups in this area where dry land makes up 80% of the total available land.  It is estimated that the Ende district of Flores has adequate potential to produce dryland cereal as a staple food crop.  Previous studies have shown that farmer preference is shifting towards the cultivation of crops with a higher economic value which threatens the existence of some cereal crops.  Concurrently, shifts in eating habits have made rice a staple food in this region, leading to increased consumption and threatening the existence of other cereal crops.  Furthermore, outsiders tend to think of areas like Flores as being impoverished, with frequent problems with food security. Currently, there is a lack of knowledge within the youth population about the types of foods, especially cereals, which are rich in nutrients and their use in rituals.  This research aims to address this gap by collecting information on cereal crops in and around Kelimutu National Park for dissemination through educational and cultural tours. This study was conducted in the eastern subdistrict of Ndona, Flores and Wolojita Detusoko between June and December 2011.  Study findings identified 5 main cereal crops: paddy fields (consisting of: Are Rumba, Are Sela, Are Obo, Are Laka, Amera, Eko Ndale, Kea Ria, Are Mera, Are Kea Mboa, Eko Ena), corn (consisting of Java Roga, Nggela Java, Java, Keo Ri’a), sorghum (consisting of mera Lolo, Lolo Mite and Lolo Telo Leko), barley (consisting of Mera and Wete Wete Bara) and millet (consisting of Ke’o Mite and Ke’o).  Of the five types of cereal crops identified, one type (Pega, a subspecies of barley with a sorghum-like panicle) is not found in four of the districts.  It was found that corn, classified as a native plant, is strengthened through cultivation by re-seeding.  Study results illustrated that corn in this area is of reduced genetic quality, as illustrated by the fact that 3-4 cobs did not develop.  Alternatively, the Ke’o Bara strain of barley has a morphology and panicle strand number (270-300) that suggest that this species is typical of this region.

Pakcoy is a type of mustard plant that is quite popular with the community, it is very suitable to be cultivated considering the need for vegetables is quite large. The community's need for fresh and pesticide-free vegetables is a choice now in line with the community's understanding of a healthy diet. Alternatives to fulfillment are chosen by planting with hydroponic media. Hydroponics is a substitute for soil media that can be used to grow vegetable crops. The presence of hydroponics is expected to be able to overcome the narrowing of agricultural land and reduce the use of pesticides considering that pesticides greatly affect human health and the environment.   This study aims to determine the effect of nutritional doses of AB mix agrifarm and age of seedlings and their interactions on the growth and yield of pakcoy plants, this study is carried out in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Tabanan University which began on 9 December 2018 until 12 January 2019.   The study used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) consisting of two factors. The first factor is the nutritional dose of AB mix agrifarm (N) which consists of three dose levels, namely the dose of 850 ppm, 1050 ppm and 1250 ppm. The second factor is the age of seedlings (U) which consists of two seedling age levels, namely the age of seedlings 1 week and 2 weeks. Each treatment is repeated four times.   The results of the study obtained the interaction of dose agrifarm treatment with seed age showed a very significant effect (p 1 0.01) on all parameters except for the parameters of the number of leaves aged 35 days old which showed no significant effect (p 5 0.05). The economical wet weight of plant-1 and BKO of the highest yield of 1-crop yield is produced in the combination treatment of N3U, which amounted to respectively 244.09 g and 78.10g or increased respectively by 57.78% and 293.85% compared to results the lowest produced by the combination treatment of N1U1 is 154.71g and 19.83g

Utilization of maize waste as the organic matter sources in agricultural land couldn’t be directly applied, caused by late decomposition prosess. An effort to accelerate of maize waste decomposting needed bioactivator. The research was conducted in green house and Bajeng Research Intallation from March to August 2015. The research was arranged in randomized block design using isolate bacteria and fungus just one or theier combining ie: three bacteria  (B7.1,E7.7and E7.11), three fungus (M7, O5, P7), and four bacteria-fungus combining(B7.1+O5, B7.1+M7, E7.7+P7, B7.1+E7.7+O5), EM4 and N,P,K fertilizer(200,45,60) ha-1as the check treatment. Just one isolate fertilized by 75 percent N,P,K while combine isolate fertilized by 50 percent N,P,K recommended. The results indicated that just one decomposer E7.7 produced high enouugh grain yield not siqnificantly different by N,P,K (200,45,60) and five other just one treatment (E7.11,B7.1,M7 and O5), however siqnificantly different with combining decomposer (B7.1+O5, E7.11+M7, E7.7+P7, B7.1+E7.7+O5 and EM4). This mean that using stalk plus leaf waste maize compost could be subtitution in organic fertilizer untill 25 percent. Meanwhile combining decomposer was good enough for composting stalk and leaf of maize waste ie. isolate B7.1+O5 and E7.7+P7 although not significntly different with the other combine isolate including EM4. Thise case related by applied 50 percent N,P,K inorganic recommended fertilizer did not sufficient to supporting maize nutrient.Key Words: Decomposer, Bacteria, Fungus, Composting,Maize waste

The low yield of cabbage in Maluku is thought to due to the lack of attention of farmers to grow to crop because so far farmers think it can only grow well and forms crops in the highlands, so no one wants to grow cabbage. This study aimed to determine the yield performance of five cabbage varieties with the use of several types of mulches and was carried out in Gemba Village, Kairatu Subdistrict, Western Seram Regency. The experimental design used was the factorial Randomized Block Design with three replications and the farmers as replications. The first factor was five varieties of cabbage (Sehati-F1, Daehnfeldt, Green Hero, Green Coronet, KK-Koss), the second factor was the type of mulch, consisting of four types, namely: without mulch (M0), black silver plastic mulch, straw mulch, and husk mulch. The data obtained were analyzed with analysis of variance and DMRT test at the level of 5% if necessary. Parameters observed included plant height at 45 days after planting, leaf number, percentage of crop formation, percentage of pest and disease attacks, crop circumference per plant at harvest, fruit weight, and yield.  The study results showed that the five varieties tested with the use of various types of mulch had the potentials to be developed in Maluku. Varieties with the highest yields and very good adaptation to lowland environments in Maluku included Sehati-F1 and KK-Cross. Pest control by using plant-based pesticides in a combination with scheduled mechanical control (yellow plates, pitfalls, and stick traps) could reduce the levels of pest and disease attacks and the crops appeared healthy for consumption.
