The purpose of this study is to identify learning styles of grade V students at elementary schools in Blitar. This is a quantitative study using descriptive methods involving grade V students at elementary schools in Blitar Sample of 199 students were selected using simple random sampling. Questionnaires were used to gather the data, and analyzed employing descriptive statistical techniques. Results showed that the auditorial learning style was used dominantly by all female and male students. Keywords: students, teachers, teaching, learning styles.

The study aimed at finding out the correlation between (1) Students’ learning style in speaking ability of communication and broadcasting Islam major, (2) correlation of learning motivation in speaking ability of communication and broadcasting Islam major, (3) correlation of students’ learning style and learning motivation in speaking ability of communication and broadcasting Islam major. This study was carried out at Communication and broadcasting Islam Major in UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten. The method which is used in this study was the correlational method. The sample was 30 students which were taken by a simple random sampling technique. The instruments in collecting the data were questionnaires and tests. The questionnaire was used to collect the data on students’ learning styles and learning motivation. The technique which was used to analyze the data was Simple correlation and Multiple Regression Correlation which were computed by the Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS). The results of the analysis of the data on this research show that: (1) there is a significant correlation between learning style and speaking ability ρ < α (0.043 < 0.05), (2) there is a significant correlation between learning motivation and speaking ability ρ < α (0.041 < 0.05), and (3) there is a significant correlation between learning style and learning motivation toward speaking ability ρ < α (0.045 < 0.05).

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh: (1) metode pembelajaran terhadap hasil belajar IPS, (2) pengaruh gaya belajar terhadap hasil belajar IPS, (3) antara metode dan gaya belajar terhadap hasil belajar IPS. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian quasi eksperimen dengan desain factorial 2x2. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMP Negeri 15 Yogyakarta dan sampelnya adalah siswa kelas VII B, VII E, VII H dan VII J, yang ditentukan dengan teknik simple random sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan tes dan angket. Validitas instrumen diukur dengan rumus analisis faktor, dan reliabilitasnya dengan rumus Cronbach’s Alpha. Normalitas data diuji dengan rumus Kolmogorof-Smirnov dan homogenitas data diuji dengan rumus Levene Test. Uji hipotesis dengan teknik Two-way Anova satu pihak dengan taraf signifikansi 0, 05. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) terdapat pengaruh antara metode pembelajaran terhadap hasil belajar IPS siswa dan hasil belajar dengan metode Think Pair Share lebih tinggi dibandingkan hasil belajar dengan metode Problem-Based Learning; (2) terdapat pengaruh antara gaya belajar terhadap hasil belajar IPS siswa dan hasil belajar dengan metode Think Pair Share lebih tinggi dibandingkan hasil belajar dengan metode Problem-Based Learning pada kelompok gaya belajar visual; (3) hasil belajar dengan metode Think Pair Share lebih tinggi dibandingkan hasil belajar dengan metode Problem-Based Learning pada kelompok gaya belajar auditorial; (4) tidak terdapat pengaruh antara metode pembelajaran dan gaya belajar terhadap hasil belajar IPS. Kata kunci: metode, gaya belajar, hasil belajar IPS.______________________________________________________________ THE EFFECT OF LEARNING METHOD AND LEARNING STYLE ON THE ACHIEVEMENT IN IPS OF THE STUDENTS OF JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOLS IN YOGYAKARTA Abstract This research aims to revealthe effect of: (1) teaching methods on IPS learning outcomes, (2) the influence of learning styles on IPS learning outcomes, (3) the methods and learning styles on IPS learning outcomes. This research was a quasi experiment using the 2x2 factorial design. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 15 Yogyakarta. The sample was VII B, VII E, VII H, and VII J classes, which was established using the simple random sampling technique. The data collection used a test and questionnaire. The instrument validity was measured by using the product moment formula and its realiability was measured by using Cronbanch’s Alpha. The data normality was tested by using Kolmogorof-Smirnov and the homogeneity test was tested by using Levene Test. The hypothesis of this research was tested by using the two-way Anova technique at the significance level of 0,05. The result of this research shows that: (1) the achievement in IPS of the students taught using the Think Pair Share method is higher than that of those taught using the problem-based learning method; (2) the achievement of the students taught using the Think Pair Share method is higher than that of those taught using the problem-based learning method for group of visual learning style; (3) the achievement of the students taught using the Think Pair Share method is higher than that of those taught using the problem-based learning method for group of auditorial learning style; and (4) there is no interaction between teaching method and learning style in influencing students’ achievement in IPS subject matter. In spite of the diverse schools of thought providing guidance for poetry teachers—such as the didactic, heuristic, or phyletic approaches—this myriad of teaching modes has failed to generate adequate student appreciation for poetry courses. The reason for this is teachers’ tendency to cling to the idea that one must choose a particular approach and find out the correct or fixed meaning. This study includes a recommendation for a major shift in teaching poetry that transforms each class session into a new learning rather than a teaching experience—one in which the instructor’s role is to inspire a passion and love for poetry in ESL learners. This teaching-learning style requires that teachers change from being omniscient sages to participants, co-explorers, and learners—a move from teaching methods to learning styles and a shift from encouraging the love of teachers to inspiring the love of poetry in university students.

The objective of this study was to identify learning styles of students. The approach used in this study is a quantitative approach with survey method. The variable in this study is a single variable , namely the identification of student learning styles. The study population is students of Guidance and Counseling FKIP Pattimura University totaling 388 people. Samples were used as samples in the amount of 10% of the population of 39 people. The sampling technique using Simple Random Sampling. Learning styles questionnaire prepared based on the opinion of De Poter & Hernacki is used as a data collection tool. Learning styles identified as visual learning style, auditorial learning style, and kinesthetic learning style. Data analysis techniques in this study is the descriptive statistical analysis methods. Based on the survey results revealed that students of guidance and counseling FKIP Pattimura University has a tendency to one learning style. Of the 39 students found that 6 students had a tendency visual learning style, 20 students have a tendency to auditory learning style, 1 student has a tendency kinestheticlearning style, and 12 students have a tendency to mix between learning styles and learning styles visual auditorylearning styles.

Background: Everyone would want to enjoy their old age in a healthy condition both physically and spiritually, but the fact is that old age is more synonymous with periods of decline in physical, mental, and human interest. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to Identify the description of understanding the meaning of life from a health perspective for the elderly at the Panti Griya Werdha Jambangan in Surabaya. Methods: This study is a quantitative study with a descriptive design. The population in this study were all the elderly who live in the home for the werdha Jambangan with a total of 60 elderly and the sample used was 56 respondents using simple random sampling. The variable in this study is the understanding of the meaning of life from a health perspective in the elderly. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics and presented in a frequency distribution table. Results: The results showed that out of 56 elderly people at the Werdha Jambangan Nursing Home in Surabaya, 73.2% of the respondents were 60-74 years old, 73.2% were female, and most of them 55.4% had an understanding of the meaning of a moderate life. Conclusion: Getting an understanding of the meaning of life requires a long and continuous process. A person who already has an understanding of the meaning of his life will be more prosperous and happier in life.Key words: Understanding the meaning of life, health perspective, elderly

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan :(1) Untuk mengetahui hasil belajar pengantar bisnis mahasiswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TST lebih tinggi dari mahasiswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT. (2) Untuk mengetahui hasil belajar  pengantar bisnis mahasiswa yang memiliki gaya belajar teoritis dan mahasiswa yang memiliki gaya belajar pragmatis. (3) Untuk mengetahui interaksi antara model pembelajaran kooperatif dengan gaya belajar  terhadap hasil belajar pengantar bisnis. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Universitas Methodist Indonesia. Populasi berjumlah 180 orang. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan cluster random sampling. Metode penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan desain faktorial 2 x 2 dilanjutkan dengan statistik inferensial dengan menggunakan ANAVA dua jalur dengan taraf signifikan α = 0,05 yang dilanjutkan dengan uji Scheffe. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) hasil belajar pengantar bisnis mahasiswa yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TSTS lebih tinggi dari pada hasil belajar pengantar bisnis mahasiswa yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT; (2) hasil belajar pengantar bisnis mahasiswa yang memiliki gaya belajar teoritis lebih tinggi dari pada hasil belajar pengantar bisnis mahasiswa yang memiliki gaya belajar pragmatis; (3) terdapat interaksi antara model pembelajaran kooperatif dengan gaya belajar  dalam mempengaruhi hasil belajar mahasiswa.  Kata Kunci: model pembelajaran kooperatif, TST, NHT, gaya belajar, pengantar bisnis.  Abstract: This study aims: (1) To find out the introductory learning outcomes of business students who are taught with the cooperative learning model of the TST type are higher than students who are taught with the cooperative learning model of the NHT type. (2) To find out the introductory learning outcomes of business students who have theoretical learning styles and students who have pragmatic learning styles. (3) To determine the interaction between cooperative learning models with learning styles on introductory business learning outcomes. This research was conducted at the Methodist University of Indonesia. The population is 180 people. Sampling was done by cluster random sampling. Quasi-experimental research method with 2 x 2 factorial design followed by inferential statistics using two-way ANAVA with a significant level α = 0.05 followed by the Scheffe test. The results showed: (1) the results of introductory business learning students who were taught with the cooperative learning model type TSTS were higher than the results of introductory business learning students who were taught with the NHT type cooperative learning model; (2) the results of introductory business learning students who have theoretical learning styles are higher than the results of introductory business learning students who have pragmatic learning styles; (3) there is an interaction between cooperative learning models and learning styles in influencing student learning outcomes. Keywords: cooperative learning model, TST, NHT, learning style, business introduction.

The aims of this research are for Analyzing the influence of professional teacher competence, learning motivation, and learning styles of students for economic understanding of eleventh grades student of SMA Negeri 1 Gondang, Nganjuk. In this research, writer uses quantitative methods as a research methodology. Population in this research are eleventh grades students in SMA Negeri 1 Gondang who are 112 students. Writer uses Simple Random Sampling as a Research technique which consists of 88 samples. Result of this research shows There is 77, 3% significance between professional teacher competence, students’ learning motivation, students’ learning styles and economic understanding of students

This study identifed male and female’s cognitive learning styles and found out the differences and similarities the cognitive learning styles between male and female students in grade 10 of “X”school in Surabaya. There were twenty six students in Natural Science class (X-IPA1). The main theory for this study is from Ehrman (1996) about Cognitive Learning Styles. The method was mixed-methods. The researcher distributed questionnaires adapted from Ehrman and Leaver (2002b) ind interview to the students in order to know their cognitive learning styles. The findings showed that male students were concrete and female students were analog learners. Additionally, the finding also showed that the male and female students had five similarities and five differences. English teachers will be easier to conduct classroom activites based on the findings of male and female students’ cognitive learning styles. Lack of teachers’ understanding in students’ learning styles and their teaching could cause unfacilitated teaching methods for example through the use of traditional lecturing methods. This issue brings the importance of this research objective to investigate teachers’ perceptions about learning style, their teaching, and the applied methods in the classroom. This study uses a quantitative research approach that is the analysis of learning style types for different students at different grade levels. To find out the perceptions of English teachers in this study, information was collected through 20 closed questions with data analysis to find out how the learning style influenced the teaching learning process of 28 English teachers. The findings of this study suggest that teachers’ understand about students’ different learning styles, so they adopt their students’ learning styles to their teaching. The last, teachers agree to use group discussion rather than lecturing methods by integrating ICT. In conclusion, teachers’ perception on students’ learning styles can increase their awareness to design teaching methods that differentiate students’ learning styles. Abstrak Kelangkaan pemahaman guru mengenai gaya belajar siswa dan bagaimana cara mengajarnya yang tepat dapat disebabkan oleh metode mengajar yang tidak bersifat fasilitatif, misalnya masih berupa perkuliahan tradisional. Oleh karena itu, penting untuk meneliti persepsi guru mengenai gaya belajar, cara mengajarnya, dan implementasinya di kelas. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif yang fokus pada beragam gaya belajar siswa pada kelas-kelas yang berbeda. Infomasi diperoleh dengan memberikan 20 pertanyaan tertutup untuk mencari tahu bagaimana gaya belajar memengaruhi proses pembelajaran di kelas Bahasa Inggris (28 guru). Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa guru memahami keragaman gaya belajar siswa, sehingga mereka mengadopsi gaya belajar siswa dalam pengajaran mereka. Guru juga sepakat menggunakan kelompok diskusi ketimbang perkuliahan tradisional dengan mengintegrasikan Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi (TIK). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa persepsi guru terhadap gaya belajar siswa meningkatkan kepedulian mereka dalam mengembangkan metode mengajar yang beragam sesuai keragaman belajar siswa. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan gaya belajar antara peserta didik laki-laki dengan perempuan di MTs Madani Pao-Pao. Penelitian kuantitatif jenis komparatif ini menggunakan sampel populasi sebanyak 255 peserta didik. Data yang terkumpul menggunakan instrumen skala gaya belajar dan dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan statistik inferensial. Hasil analisis statistik inferensial uji Anova menunjukkan nilai sign sebesar 0,033 (p < 0,05), dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan terdapat perbedaan gaya belajar pada peserta didik laki-laki dengan perempuan di MTs Madani Pao-pao. Hasil deskriptif menunjukkan peserta didik laki-laki lebih dominan memiliki gaya belajar visual sedangkan peserta didik perempuan dominan memiliki gaya belajar kinestetik. Hasil penelitian ini menjadi informasi penting bagi guru agar mendesain pembelajaran dengan memperhatikan perbedaan gaya belajar peserta didik. AbstractThis study aims to determine differences in learning styles between male and female students of MTs Madani Pao-Pao. This comparative study had a sample population of 255 students. The data collected using a scale of learning style scale which was analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistics. The inferential statistical analysis of the Anova test showed a value of 0.033 (p <0.05). it can be summed up that there were differences in learning styles between male and female learners in MTs Madani Pao-Pao. In addition, male students had a more dominant visual learning style while female students had a dominant kinesthetic learning style. The results of this study become important information for teachers to design learning by paying attention to the learning styles of students.
