Abstract: The present study aimed to identify the role of the Internet in improving the teaching skills from the perspective of professors and graduate students at Malang State University. Therefore, two questionnaires were set, the first for the professors in the Department of Arabic Language at the Malang State University and the second for the students of the higher studies in the same department.  These questionnaires were applied to a sample of 25 and a sample of 10 graduate students respectively. The research reached, through the preparatory study, to the following results :To begin with, creating groups, or online mailing groups, is mainly to strengthen the communication among supervisors, professors and students, as well as, the use of the Internet to remotely train teachers. Then, according to the findings, the main obstacles to the use of the Internet are the uncertainty of professors of its importance and uses, and the weak cooperation between teachers and administrative teachers. In addition to that, the most important ways to using the internet are providing schools and universities with the necessary equipment and programs to access to the Internet, and giving professors and teachers authority regarding educational matters. Furthermore, graduate students were rarely using the Internet to access educational sites. Moreover, the lack of programs that serve the educational teaching process is the biggest obstacle to the use of the Internet, which indicates the lack of an important element, namely, programs in Arabic. This is a common result between teachers and students. Last but not least, teachers and professors should be given some educational authority, while highlighting the importance of the Internet and its uses to some of them.

ABSTRACTSociety has been transforming throughout the last years. The easy access to Internet has made two important institutions, family and school, cope to new challenges. Teenagers in different countries have access to Internet. However, understanding how these changes affect them, their families, their education, their community and the risks they cope help us get to empiric research. The main inquiry is to identify the use and the role parents have around the Internet and technological devices. The research is based in a mixed approach, combining qualitative and quantitative methods, using a questionnaire and a focus group to collect data.RESUMENLa sociedad ha venido transformándose durante las últimas décadas. Contacto principal: [email protected]

The use of ICTs has become an obligation rather than an option for teachers. This intense pressure leads to a modern adaptation disorder expressed as technostress. Technostress is one of the many problems experienced particularly by beginning teachers, and the technostress levels of these teachers were investigated. For this purpose, in the 2015-2016 academic years, data were collected from 83 teachers having a professional seniority of 0-5 years. It was concluded that the general levels of technostress of the teachers were moderate, which they had a moderate-level technostress at the learning-teaching process-oriented, technical-issue-oriented, and social-oriented technostress factors, and they had a low-level of technostress at the profession-oriented and personal-oriented technostress factors. When examined in terms of the variables, while the general level of technostress does not vary by gender and branch group, it varies by the variable of average use of the internet. Finally, the solution proposals for technostress were examined.

America’s Army is a first-person “shooter” online video game produced by the U.S. Army and freely available on the Internet. Ostensibly a recruitment tool, the game constitutes a “mimetic” experience that encompasses real-life Army codes, regulations, and behaviors, approximating an authentic military experience, including realistic missions that involve violence. This article considers the educational role of such mimetic games, practical impediments to its inclusion in classrooms, and the conceptual demands the use of such games may place on teachers and students. Additionally, this article considers the ideological barriers and arguments against the educational use of games like America’s Army. Finally, this article connects the experience of America’s Army to Douglas’ (2008) concept of “playful hatred,” calling for a reconceptualization of the term towards a more competitive and pedagogically useful approach.

Nowadays, information technology and the Internet are becoming a driver for a shared consumption economy (sharing economy). The paper aims to analyse the current level of use and prospects for the development of models of the sharing economy in Russia. We identify the effects of sharing consumption for the circular economy and study factors that stimulate the use of peer-to-peer models. One of the study’s tasks was to investigate the involvement of the young generation in the sharing economy, as the most promising part of the population. The study is based on the analysis of open Internet sources on the operation of sharing platforms in Russia and a survey among students at two Russian universities (RUDN University in Moscow and Kuban State University in Krasnodar) to identify the awareness of young people regarding sharing platforms. Analysis of the current state of sharing in Russia showed that the use of most types of sharing is at an initial stage. At the same time, the prospects for economic growth and population development are quite high. The article identifies several effects of digital platforms for sustainable development, the main of which are informed consumption and production. For the further growth of users of the sharing economy, the authors highlight the level of penetration of the Internet and the need for high-quality services on digital platforms. Educational organisations can also become a platform for the development of models of the sharing economy by involving students in sharing processes, as demonstrated by the survey.

It has often been suggested that education via the Internet, or e-learning, leads to a sense of separation in individual learners; this need not be the case. Teaching is a relationship: a relationship that is built on a connection between teaching and learner, between learner and learner, and between the learners and the content. What then is the role of the instructor in moderating online learning? This paper will explore how that connection might be better made in an online environment and will explore the interpersonal or emotive distinctiveness needed in an e-moderator from the perspective of a group of graduate students engaged in an online master of education degree offered in Canada.

Constructivism allows the student to build knowledge and learning on his own. Through the discovery, experimentation, and tests, the student tries to consolidate the learning objects. Τhis chapter approaches constructivism through the use of methods used by information technology. An advantage of IT tools is the interaction that turns the teaching into experiential and experimental where the student tries to evaluate and improve his abilities. Methods such as robotics, interactive television, and the use of the internet provide forms of interactive learning based on the methodology of game-based learning, which contribute to constructivism. In this chapter, once the construction and importance in education and especially in IT is presented, the importance of game-based learning and video games is presented. The authors show the role of robotics and the internet in relation to the interaction they offer, and also the role of interactive television in the educational process from the point of view of constructivism.
