Character building has become strategic way for government to prepare Indonesian golden generation on 2045. President Regulation Number 87 Year 2017 about Reinforcement of Character Education (PPK) suggests 18 students’ character value through the harmony of psyche building, sense building, thought building, and physical building. Those could be implemented through the development of local wisdom and the improvement of special character and identity of a region. Gorontalo is one of nineteen regions in Indonesia which regulates local laws has various local laws, one of them is Mopolihu Lo Limu (Lemon Bathing) for female children under 1 to 3 years old. Mopolihu Lo Limu tradition has numbers of values which are relevant to the Reinforcement of Character Education (PPK) such as: (1) Religiosity, (2) Honesty, (3) Tolerance, (4) Discipline, (5) Hard work, (6) Independent, (7) Love the Mother Land, (8) Friendly, (9) Love Peace, (10) Social Awareness, (11) Environment Awareness and (12) Responsible. This research used descriptive qualitative method which was relevant to the object. It took place at Gorontalo as the research setting. The object of the research was the Mopolihu Lo Limu  (Lemon Bathing) for female children.

<p><strong>Abstract: </strong>This research aims to analyze the values and character building in “The Theory of Everything,” to identify the morality of the main character of “The Theory of Everything” 3) the method of value formation, and 4) the implications of using this film in character building and morality in children. This research is done by using a descriptive qualitative method with a literature-based approach. This research uses content analysis, which analyzes the content of dialogue, scene, and character according to the value of character education and morality of the main character. Based on the result of research, it can be concluded that this film contains 1) the values and character building, such as religious, honesty, tolerance, hard work, creativity, independently, curiosity, nationalism, loving the country, respect for achievement, friendly or communicative, peaceful love, fond of reading, caring society dan responsibility. 2) the moral value of the main character, which is dominant, is as honest, independent, and hard work. 3) the method of value formation through dialogue and very inspirational scenes through the main characters; and 4) the implications of using this film in character building and morality in children is to build self-confidence and self-actualization.</p><p><strong>Keywords: </strong>character education; film analysis; moral values</p>

Environmental education provides opportunities to instill character education for adolescents in globalization era. However, positive effects of environmental education on character building are rarely studied. This study aimed at analyzing the effect of environmental education on character building of school members. This study used descriptive qualitative method with purposive sampling technique. SJHS 1 Wajak and SJHS 1 Gondanglegi, Malang-East Java were selected as research locations as they were Adiwiyata schools. The data were collected through observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The results showed that environmental education had affected student character building. Various activities and existing regulations affect student characters, such as honest, self-confidence, responsibility, discipline, caring for fellow human beings, caring about nature, courage, religion, and creativity. Habituation and modeling are strategies used in constructing characters. Therefore, environmental education is recommended to be implemented in various schools as an effort to improve the character of school members.

A culture has an important in for the development of the character of the young generation, because in the culture of each ethnic group has values that guide the society. The Erau Tradition of Kutai contains values in any rituals. This value can be a guideline for cultivation the character building and to minimize degradation and the eroded values of national identity in our youth. This study aims to: 1) know the values contained in Erau tradition, 2) know the relevance of traditional values of Erau with the values of Indonesian nation character education. The research was conducted in Kutai Kertanegara using ethnography approach. Erau tradition which made cooperation between the palace, local governments and communities indicates that this tradition contains religious values, unity, cooperation/cooperativeness, tolerance, social awareness, recognize excellence, democracy, work ethic, and the preservation of culture. These values has relevance to the educational value of the character of the Indonesian nation, although not in its entirety but these values are positive and capable of being used as a source of value for the community guidelines. With that understanding, the expected values may play a role in shaping the character of the nation.

This study was aimed at determining the value of character education in folk games on the slopes of Mount Merapi. This study used qualitative method. The subjects of this study were students, teachers, principals, and heads of Cangkringan and Pakem sub-education technical implementation unit. The instruments used were in-depth observations and interviews. The result shows that there are seventeen folk games, namely dakon, serak lidi, lompat tali, enggrang, bekelan, kelereng, bentengan, dan bola bakar, oya dodok, oya tembok, jamuran, cublak-cublak suweng, petak umpet, engklak, dingklik oglak-aglik, gobak sodor, and elang ayam.The game is used by teachers on the slopes of Mount Merapi to instill thirteen characters from eighteen educational characters. These characters, namely honesty, tolerance, discipline, hard work, creative, independent, democratic, curiosity, respect for achievement, friendship, caring for the environment, social care, and responsibility. Folk games should be integrated in learning in elementary school to develop student characterNILAI PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER DALAM PERMAINAN RAKYAT DI LERENG GUNUNG MERAPIPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi nilai pendidikan karakter dalam permainan rakyat di lereng gunung Merapi. Metode kualitatif digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa sekolah dasar (SD), guru, kepala sekolah, dan kepala Unit Pelaksana Teknis sub pelayanan pendidikan di kecamatan Cangkringan dan kecamatan Pakem. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi dan pedoman wawancara. Hasil penelitian mengidentifikasi tujuh belas permainan rakyat, yaitu dakon, serak lidi, lompat tali, enggrang, bekelan, kelereng, bentengan, dan bola bakar, oya dodok, oya tembok, jamuran, cublak-cublak suweng, petak umpet, engklak, dingklik oglak-aglik, gobak sodor, dan elang ayam yang berpotensi sebagai sarana penanaman nilai karakter pada siswa SD. Permainan tersebut dimanfaatkan oleh para guru yang ada di lereng gunung Merapi untuk menanamkan tiga belas karakter dari delapan belas karakter pendidikan. Karakter tersebut, yaitu jujur, toleransi, disiplin, kerja keras, kreatif, mandiri, demokratis, rasa ingin tahu, menghargai prestasi, bersahabat, peduli lingkungan, peduli sosial, dan tanggung jawab. Permainan rakyat semestinya dapat diintegrasikan dalam pembelajaran di SD untuk mengembangkan karakter siswa.

The purpose of this study, first, is to analyze the echocritical element reflected by the author through the short story Pegasus Jatuh. Second, integrate ecological values in literature teaching. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The approach used is Garrard's eco-criticism. Sources of data obtained from the behavior of characters in the short story. Data analysis begins by marking words, phrases, clauses, and sentences that have a focus on environmental exploitation. The results show in the short story “Pegasus Jatuh”, the author reflects environmental phenomena that include illegal logging, buying and selling protected animals, and exploitation of gold. The analysis applied in literature learning which has an important role in character education. Literature in education has a role to develop the language, cognitive, affective, psychomotoric, personality, and social aspects of students.

The background of this research is: researcher’s anxiety towards the character of the nation that is experiencing moral decadence, such as increasing free association, drug abuse, and so forth. In this case the school especially in the learning of Akidah Akhlak have a big role in the awareness of Islamic religious values to learners. This research uses qualitative method. Research location in MIN Sekuduk and MIN Pemangkat Kabuaten Sambas. Data collection is done by observation, interview, and documentation. Data analysis was done by cross-case analysis. The result of the research shows that: (1) learning planning of Aqidah Akhlak as an effort of character building is by designing lesson planning by involving Media, (2) application of teacher learning of Aqidah Akhlak in effort of character building of student which done have referring to order or rule which have Planned and determined in every activity or learning process in Basic education institution/ MI, (3) evaluation of teacher learning of Aqidah Akhlak usually in the form of examination of task from teacher, daily test, UTS value and UAS saswa test. Submission of learning Aqidah morals in the formation of student characters in applied by the subject teachers from each location of the study led to very satisfactory results.Keywords: Character Education, Learning Aqidah Morals in MI

Important hard work characters are taught for the younger generation today so that researchers are interested in describing and explaining the values of character education in hard work in Ulid's novel by Mahfud Ikhwan. This novel tells the story of the struggle of poor families to send their eldest children from kindergarten to high school with various struggles and hard work in his life. The actions that the characters to bring out the character values of hard work that are proven through the attitude and every dialogue of the characters. This study included descriptive qualitative with note-taking techniques and literature studies. The results of data analysis of hard work character values are known to 9 frequencies, including unyielding characters, passionate characters, active working characters, earnest characters, the full character of confidence in acting, the full character of the struggle for life, independent practice character, cooperative character, and characters fight together.

The purpose of the analysis is to find out the attitude of trust showed by King David in Holy Bible in the book of Psalm. This analysis reveals the attitude of trust that is stated by words in poetry in the book of Psalm. Descriptive Qualitative method is used to analyze primary and secondary data from the book of Psalm and also from the articles or books that support the data by using some steps or procedures that is : to organize and prepare all the data needed, read the data which is the book of Psalm and other references then analyze data by identifying the sentences that represent the statement of having a trust of King David to God. The meaning of this learning both theory and practice is expected to give contribution to the readers about what and how trust is and how they apply it well and correctly. Folklore is a story that originated in society and developed in society in the past which played an important role in the development of children's character learning in the form of moral values. The purpose of this study was to explain the moral values contained in folklore to improve character education. This study used a qualitative descriptive research design. Where all the data collected is based on books and other supporting document data. From the discussion of the Timun Mas folklore, there are eight prominent moral values, namely religious values, independent values, curiosity values, hard work values, responsibility values, honesty values, creativity, the value of the spirit of hard work. And from the research results, it can be concluded that the folklore of Timun Mas has many moral values that can be applied in the world of Education to shape character.

Character education is important in the present given the rapid development of times can change the character of children to be backward. This research uses descriptive qualitative method by collecting field data and this research determines the subject of the research object by referring to interview guidelines for conducting interviews and observations. The result of this study indicate that character education in class 2 TKJ 2 always prioritizes approaches to be open to each other. So the teacher can easily understand the character of wild and deep children, and it is easy to be influenced towards a better direction. This research has implications for the school to pay attention to the character of their students and make changes more aggressively and shouldn’t break up communication with students and parents when outside teaching and learning activities, must continue to evaluate with parents, so student can help each other in educate the child’s character in a better direction.
