This research aims to describe the character education value reflection through characters' depiction in Oka Rusmini's novel Koplak. This research is descriptive qualitative research. The approach used in this research is psychological. The data collection technique used was a documentary study. The data source in this research is the novel Koplak by Oka Rusmini. This study's data are character education value reflections through the depiction of the character in the data source, that is Koplak novel by Oka Rusmini. The data were collected using the reading technique and note-taking technique. The data analysis uses an interactive-analysis method. This study results indicate that there are reflections of character education value through the character depiction in Oka Rusmini's novel Koplak, namely honest, caring, and attention.

This research was motivated by the problem of being able to find the values of character education in the novel Gunung Ungaran by Nh. Dini. The purpose of this study is to describe the values of character education in the novel Gunung Ungaran by Nh. Dini. This research is a qualitative research using content analysis method. The object of this research is the novel Gunung Ungaran by Nh. Dini. The data in this study are words, phrases, sentences and discourses which are the values of character education. The data source in this research is the novel Gunung Ungaran by Nh. Dini. The data techniques used are reading novels, marking data related to the value of character education, recording data, making inventory, and classifying. The results of this study indicate that there are ten values of character education found in the novel Gunung Ungaran. In addition to the value of character education, other character education values are also found, such as: 1) religious, 2) Tolerance, 3) Work hard, 4) Independent, 5) Curiosity, 6) Love the homeland, 7) Friendly/communicative, 8) Caring for the environment, 9) Social care, 10) Responsibility.Keywords: Education, Character, Novel.

This study aims to determine the psychological impact experienced by Alex Standall on the death of Hannah Baker, presented in the Thirteen Reasons Why series adaptation of the novel of the same title by Jay Asher. This study is a qualitative research. The data source used is the TV-series Thirteen Reasons Why first season. The data collection technique is from analyzing the series. The theory used in this study is the psychology of literature. The results of this study are as follows: first, the initial factors that triggered Alex Standall to do bad things to Hannah Baker. Second, the psychological condition of Alex Standall after making a mistake about Hannah Baker. Third, the guilty towards Hannah Baker that caused Alex Standall finally decided to end his life.

This research is motivated by the existence of several styles of comparative attitude contained in the novel by Okky Madasari. This research is focused on the comparative language style in the novel by Okky Madasari. The purpose of this study is to describe the comparative language style in the novel by Okky Madasari. This type of research is qualitative research. The method used in this research is descriptive analysis method. The data in this study are in the form of words, sentences and dialogues related to describing the comparative language style in the novel by Okky Madasari. The data source in this research is the novel by Okky Madasari. The results of this study indicate that the comparative language styles contained in the novel by Okky Madasari are, parable comparison language style, metaphor comparison language style, personification comparison language style, allagory comparison language style, and pleonasm comparison language style. The language style that is most often found is the comparative language style of parable types, and from the research results it is known that of the 10 types of language language there are only 5 types of comparative language styles found.

The aim of this research is to obtain a deep understanding of character education in And The Mountains Echoed Novel written by Khalid Hosseini. This research used qualitative approach, content analysis method, through structuralism and  semiotics study. Structurally, character education in this novel found in the theme, the plot, the characters and characterization, and the setting. Semiotically, the researcher found semiotics signs in And The Mountains Echoed novel relating to the character education, namely, index, symbol, and icon. The data were collected through a carefull reading of the novel, identification, and classification. The values taken are the combination between character education value from Pusat Kurikulum Balitbang Diknas and Lickona’s. However not all values are captured, among the 28 values, only thirteen caught from the novel. The values are hard working, religious, responsible, love, integrity, social care, never give up, thanks be to Allah, appreciating achievement, wisdom, creative, curiousity, and friendly/communicative. From the structure of the novel, the character education implemented explicitly and implicitly in the theme, the character and characterization, the setting, and the plot. While from the semiotics, the character education mostly found  in the form of index, followed by symbol,and then icon.

<em>The aims of this research are to describe: (1) the use of diction in the lyrics of the song album Don’t Make Me Sad by Letto; (2) the existence of imagery in the lyrics of the song Don’t Make Me Sad by Letto; (3) the dominant style of language in the lyrics of the song album Don’t Make Me Sad by Letto; (4) the value of character education in the lyrics of the song album Don’t’ Make Me Sad by Letto; and (5) the relevance with the teaching materials of literature for senior high school students. This research is descriptive qualitative research using content analysis method. The source of data in this research is the lyrics of the song album Don’t Make Me Sad by Letto and the result of interview with informants. The technique of taking the sample used in this research was purposive sampling. The technique of collecting the data in this research was data analysis and interview with the informants. This research uses source triangulation and method triangulation to validate the data. The researcher uses interactive analysis method in this research. </em>

Character education is an effort to reinforce character values to create Indonesia's golden generation. This study aimed to describe and explain the educational value of goodness and responsibility character in the novel of Guru Aini. The data in this study are data on the values of character education in the form of dialogue quotes, sentences, and paragraphs in novels. The data source is the novel Guru Aini by Andrea Hirata. The data collection technique which is used is documentation techniques with reading, recording, and assessment activities. The validation technique used theory triangulation and data triangulation. The data analysis technique used an interactive model analysis technique which includes three components, namely: (1) data reduction; (2) data presentation; and (3) drawing conclusions. The results showed that the novel contains the educational value of good character related to giving, such as giving appreciation, forgiveness, knowledge, and goods. Meanwhile, the educational value of the responsibility character reflected that a more responsible attitude as a teacher and a student. The novel of Guru Aini can be used as a media for giving the values of character education.

This study aims to analyze language errors and their interpretations at the level of syntax, morphology, and Indonesian Spelling System as well as to increase knowledge and insight about how to write properly and correctly according to the language rules that have been regulated in the KBBI and PUEBI. This research uses descriptive qualitative research method. The data in this study are in the form of words (not numbers) sourced from Larise magazine in an article entitled "Philosophy of Kidungan Jawa "Ana Kidung Rumeksa ing Wengi" published on Sunday, October 11, 2020. The data collection technique in this study is a note-taking technique, namely: by reading Larise magazine as a data source. The analysis used in this study is an interactive analysis which includes the steps of a) data collection, b) error identification, c) error explanation, d) error classification, and e) error evaluation. In this study, an analysis of errors in writing rules was carried out at the level of syntax, morphology, and accuracy in the use of Indonesian Spelling (EBI). Errors at the syntactic level are in the form of errors in the use of effective sentences, errors at the morphological level are affixation errors, and errors related to Indonesian spelling include errors in using punctuation marks, using capital letters, using standard words, using prepositions, and using particles

Character education is needed to build quality human resources. This study aims to describe and explain the values of character education through problematic characters in the novel Orang-Orang Biasa. The data in this study are data on the values of character education in the form of dialogue quotes, sentences, and paragraphs in novels. The data source is Andrea Hirata's novel Orang-Orang Biasa. The data collection technique uses documentation techniques with reading, recording, and assessment activities. The validation technique used is the theory triangulation technique and data triangulation. The data analysis technique uses an interactive model analysis technique which includes three components, namely: (1) data reduction; (2) data presentation; and (3) drawing conclusions. The results showed that the novel contained eight values of character education, namely integrity, preseverance, kindness, responsibility, self-discipline, courage, good judgment, and respect. This value is represented by eight different figures. Novels of Orang-Orang Biasa can be used as a medium to add values to character education through literary learning. Penelitian ini mencoba meneroka anasir kuliner dalam novel Pulang karya Leila S. Chudori. Melalui pendekatan gastronomi sastra, penelitian ini menggali filosofi makanan yang dihadirkan da-lam novel Pulang karya Leila S. Chudori, bagaimana tokoh dalam novel memperlakukan kuliner, serta bagaimana representasi keindonesiaan yang ada dalam kuliner di novel tersebut. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan sumber data novel Pulang karya Leila S. Chudori. Unsur-unsur yang berhubungan dengan kuliner dalam novel Pulang karya Leila S. Chudori menjadi data dalam pe-nelitian ini dan dikumpulkan dengan teknik studi dokumen atau pustaka. Data kemudian dianalisis dengan model analisis interaktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) makanan yang terdapat dalam novel Pulang karya Leila S. Chudori adalah satai kambing, kue putu, bir, kopi, pindang serani, dan nasi kuning. Kuliner-kuliner tersebut mengusung filosofi masing-masing; (2) tokoh dalam novel Pulang karya Leila S. Chudori begitu memuliakan makanan; (3) melalui kuliner, tokoh dalam novel menegaskan identitas kebangsaan mereka.Kata kunci: kuliner; novel;identitas bangsa[Culinary and Indonesian Identity in Leila S. Chudori’s Novel Pulang] This research tries to explore the culinary elements in Leila S. Chudori’s novel Pulang. Through a literary gastronomy approach, this research explores the food philosophy presented in the novel, how the characters in the novel treat culinary, as well as how the representations of Indonesian-ness in culinary in the novel. This research is a descriptive qualitative research using the novel Pulang as the data source. The elements related to culinary in the novel became the data in this study and were collected using document or literature study techniques. The data were then analyzed using the interactive analysis model. The results show that (1) the foods contained in Leila S. Chudori’s Pulang are satai kambing, putu cake, beer, coffee, pindang serani, and yellow rice. These culinary delights carry their respective philosophies; (2) the character in Pulang exalts food; (3) through culinary delights, the characters in the novel confirm their national identity.

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menggambarkan: (1) Nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter yang termuat dalam novel Bridge to Terabithia dan Island of the Blue Dolphin (2) Sejauh mana novel-novel tersebut dapat dijadikan bahan ajar Bahasa Inggris bermuatan pendidikan karakter. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode analisis isi. Penelitian kualitatif mengungkapkan gejala secara menyeluruh, dan sesuai dengan konteks permasalahannya dipecahkan melalui pengumpulan data dari latar alami dengan memanfaatkan diri peneliti sebagai instrumen kunci (Djukri dkk, 2010, p.18). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Novel Bridge to Terabithia dan Island of the Blue Dolphin memberikan penggambaran contoh nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter dengan frekuensi dan variasi yang tinggi juga dengan kualitas penggambaran yang kuat dan realistis, (2) Kedua novel memiliki bahasa yang imajinatif dan kisah yang inspiratif, (3) Kedua novel relevan dengan tujuan pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ BRIDGE TO TERABITHIA AND ISLAND OF THE BLUE DOLPHIN AS INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIAL EMBODYING CHARACTER EDUCATION Abstract This study aims at describing: (1) Character education values embodied in the novel Bridge to Terabithia and Island of the Blue Dolphin, (2) The extent to which those novels can be utilized as English instructional material embodying character education.  This study is a descriptive qualitative research, which employs content analysis method. Qualitative research describes the entire indications based on the context of the matter which is solved through collecting data of natural context employing the researcher as key instruments (Djukri dkk, 2010, p.18).The results of the study show that: (1) Bridge to Terabithia and Island of the Blue Dolphin give examples of high frequency and high variation as well as strong and realistic description of character education values, (2) Both novels have imaginative language and inspirational story, (3) Both novels are relevant to English teaching and learning objective.
