Character education is needed to build quality human resources. This study aims to describe and explain the values of character education through problematic characters in the novel Orang-Orang Biasa. The data in this study are data on the values of character education in the form of dialogue quotes, sentences, and paragraphs in novels. The data source is Andrea Hirata's novel Orang-Orang Biasa. The data collection technique uses documentation techniques with reading, recording, and assessment activities. The validation technique used is the theory triangulation technique and data triangulation. The data analysis technique uses an interactive model analysis technique which includes three components, namely: (1) data reduction; (2) data presentation; and (3) drawing conclusions. The results showed that the novel contained eight values of character education, namely integrity, preseverance, kindness, responsibility, self-discipline, courage, good judgment, and respect. This value is represented by eight different figures. Novels of Orang-Orang Biasa can be used as a medium to add values to character education through literary learning. Character education is an effort to reinforce character values to create Indonesia's golden generation. This study aimed to describe and explain the educational value of goodness and responsibility character in the novel of Guru Aini. The data in this study are data on the values of character education in the form of dialogue quotes, sentences, and paragraphs in novels. The data source is the novel Guru Aini by Andrea Hirata. The data collection technique which is used is documentation techniques with reading, recording, and assessment activities. The validation technique used theory triangulation and data triangulation. The data analysis technique used an interactive model analysis technique which includes three components, namely: (1) data reduction; (2) data presentation; and (3) drawing conclusions. The results showed that the novel contains the educational value of good character related to giving, such as giving appreciation, forgiveness, knowledge, and goods. Meanwhile, the educational value of the responsibility character reflected that a more responsible attitude as a teacher and a student. The novel of Guru Aini can be used as a media for giving the values of character education.

Politeness of expression and character education are both crucial aspects, in the current era of disruption, especially concerning sociopragmatic political purposes. The realization of politeness acts of language in the context of communication and global communication has now penetrated without limits on social distance, time, and goals. The problem is the act of language in electronic media, especially Instagram, giving space to the user to be more open in expressing his goals and objectives, including to the president in relation to specific goals and politics. This study aims to identify the forms of positive politeness acts of followers' comments on President Jokowi's official Instagram account and describe the intent of politico pragmatic power of positive politeness of followers of Jokowi's Instagram accounts. The data source of this study was the speech of followers on the official Instagram account of Indonesian President Jokowi #MenujuIndonesiaMaju managed by the President's Digital Communication Team for the period October-November 2018. The study data were in the form of comments from Jokowi's Instagram account followers who had positive politico pragmatic politeness. The data collection technique was carried out using documentation, note-taking techniques, and continued with heuristic listening techniques. Data analysis was performed with an intralingual equivalent technique which was strengthened by an extra lingual equivalent and sharpened with Levinson's politeness analysis technique based on the principle of harmony in Javanese culture. The results of the study showed that the form of positive politeness acts that were most used by followers was by giving attention to the speech partners. Political propaganda power of dominant followers’ comments was in the form of the power to ask and support rather than the power of praise, the power of influence, the power of motivation, and the power of suggestion. It shows that Instagram account followers have an optimistic attitude towards Jokowi's leadership. Jokowi's managerial, and leadership performance has a positive face among followers. This power of praise, motivation, and advice is an essential component in the formation of children's character education in the current era of disruption of education.

This study aims at describing the character education values embodied in the novel Mata dan Manusia Laut by Okky Madasari. The novel is chosen due to the character values that can be a reflection of students to apply in daily life. As the object of the study is the stories of this novel which contains the character education values. This study is a descriptive qualitative research in which the data in this study are in the form of words. The data used in the form of a narrative dialogue between characters in the novel. The technique used is the content analysis method. For the data validity of this research uses theory triangulation, method triangulation, and data triangulation. The data analysis technique used is the analysis of the Flow model by Miles and Huberman (2012) through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, as well as withdrawal conclusions. The theory of character education values refers to the Thomas Lickona theory which consists of ten character education values. However, this study is more focused on the value of hard work. The results of this study show that regarding the character education values, novel Mata dan Manusia Laut by Okky Madasari gives examples as well as description especially for the value of hard work which contains eleven values quoted from the novel. Also, the novel Mata dan Manusia Laut by Okky Madasari is representative enough as literacy learning, especially for a novel containing character education.

This study aims to describe the types of illocutionary speech and the value of character education in the speech on the video podcast of Deddy Corbuzier with Syekh Ali Jaber. This type of qualitative research with a descriptive approach. Sources of research data are utterances spoken by Deddy Corbuzier, Syekh Ali Jaber, and Gus Mifta in Deddy Corbuzier's Podcast video with Syekh Ali Jaber on Deddy Corbuzier youtube channel. The research data is in the form of sentences that reflect illocutionary speech acts and the value of character education. The data collection technique is done by using observation technique. The data analysis technique uses the Miles and Huberman model, which includes the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion/verification. The results showed: (1) types of illocutionary speech acts include assertive, directive, commissive, and expressive speech acts. (2) The value of character education includes the character of social care, religion, honesty, tolerance, love for the country, creativity, democracy, and love peace. Based on the findings, the dominant character education value in the speech activity is the value of religious character. This can happen, because it is influenced by the background of the speaker and the context of the speech.

This research aims to describe the value of patriotism in the novel 693 KM Jejak Gerilya Sudirman by Ayi Jufridar.  This research is qualitative descriptive. The data in this research are sentences containing the value of patriotism in the novel 693 Km Jejak Gerilya Sudirman by Ayi Jufridar. The data source is the novel 693 KM Jejak Gerilya Sudirman by Ayi Jufridar.  Data collection techniques used literature review and reading-note techniques. The data analysis technique in this study uses flow analysis technique which include three components, such as data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion.  The results showed that there was a value of patriotism in the novel 693 KM Jejak Gerilya Sudirman by Ayi Jufridar.  The value of patriotism for loving the homeland is 8 data, willing to sacrifice is 23 data, emphasizes unity, integrity and safety of the nation above personal interest is 7 data, patriotism with a reformer spirit is 10 data, and never giving up is 22 data.  The most value of patriotism in the novel 693 Km Jejak Gerilya Sudirman by Ayi Jufridar is willing to sacrifice totaling 23 data.  The least value of patriotism is emphasizes unity, integrity and safety of the nation, which also amounts to 7 data in the novel 693 Km Jejak Gerilya Sudirman by Ayi Jufridar. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan nilai patriotisme novel 693 KM Jejak Gerilya Sudirman karya Ayi Jufridar. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif kualitatif. Data dalam penelitian ini ialah kalimat-kalimat yang mengandung nilai patriotisme dalam novel 693 Km Jejak Gerilya Sudirman karya Ayi Jufridar. Sedangkan sumber datanya ialah novel 693 KM Jejak Gerilya Sudirman karya Ayi Jufridar. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu teknik kepustakaan dan teknik baca-catat. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis mengalir yang meliputi tiga komponen yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan simpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat nilai patriotisme dalam novel 693 KM Jejak Gerilya Sudirman karya Ayi Jufridar. Nilai patriotisme cinta tanah air berjumlah 8 data, rela berkorban 23 data, mementingkan persatuan dan kesatuan serta keselamatan bangsa di atas kepentingan pribadi berjumlah 7 data, nilai patriotisme berjiwa pembaharu 10 data, serta nilai pantang menyerah berjumlah 22 data. Nilai patriotisme yang dominan dalam novel 693 Km Jejak Gerilya Sudirman karya Ayi Jufridar adalah nilai patriotisme rela berkorban berjumlah 23 data. Sedangkan nilai patriotisme yang minim adalah nilai patriotisme mementingkan persatuan dan kesatuan serta keselamatan bangsa juga berjumlah 7 data dalam  novel 693 Km Jejak Gerilya Sudirman karya Ayi Jufridar. This study aimed to describe the form of tolerance values in the novel Bulan Terbelah di Langit Amerika by Hanum Salsabiela Rais and Rangga Almahendra. The research method which was used is descriptive qualitative. The data collection used reading and note-taking techniques. The data in this study was a novel entitled Bulan Terbelah di Langit Amerika. The data source in this study were quotes which were contained in the novel. The analysis technique which was used is the content analysis technique. The theory used is the theory of tolerance values found in each text by paying attention to the elements of tolerance values. The results of this study indicated that there was a tolerance value that included in four elements. The first element was to give freedom or independence. The second element was recognizing the rights of each individual, then the third element was respecting the beliefs of others, and the fourth element is mutual understanding. One aspect of character education was a tolerance. For this reason, the results of this study could be used as material for character education. That was because the research results of the novel entitled the Bulan Terbelah di Langit Amerika were in accordance with the four elements of tolerance values.

This research is a qualitative one. The problem with this research is what is the psychological aspect of the characters in the novel Dear, Imamku by Mellyana? What are the religious values of the novel Dear, Imamku by Mellyana? The aim of this study is to describe the psychological aspects of religious characters and values in Mellyana's Dear, Imamku, novel. Analysis of the behavior and psychological symptoms of characters uses the psychological theory of personality developed by Sigmun Freud, combining the theory of personality dynamics, defense and conflict mechanisms, and the classification of emotions in the novel. The method used in this study was the method of qualitative content analysis. The data collection technique uses the analysis of document content. The data analysis technique used the technique of summarizing the text in steps; 1) data reduction, 2) data presentation, 3) conclusions. The results of this study show that there are psychological symptoms of characters in Mellyana's Dear, Imamku novel.

Islamic feminist is currently being discussed, one of which is Nawal E-Saadawi. She is an Islamic feminist who is known for her view on fighting for the fate of women. It is reflected in his non-fiction and literary works. This study aims to explore the view of the feminist writer from Egypt, Nawal El-Saadawi, from a legal context. The research method used in this research is qualitative-interpretative using literary data sources written by Nawal El-Saadawi. The data source used is the novel Woman at Point Zero. The data collection technique was done by using a literature study. The data analysis technique was carried out in two stages: the textual and contextual levels. The result of the research showed that Nawal El-Saadawi's thoughts from her literary context that (1) the law is frightening and unfair in the view of women; (2) men acting on behalf of the law; and (3) women who violate the law.

This type of research is qualitative research with ecocriticism perspective. This study aims to identifying environmental wisdom and ecological criticism form in the novel of Sayangilah Daku, Sahabat !. The data in this study are text that refers to the problem formulation, while data source in this study is primary data source in novel form of Sayangilah Daku, Sahabat! by T. Tomasoa published in Balai Pustaka (1995). Instrument in this research is the author himself who oriented towards research on the form of environmental wisdom and ecological criticism in the novel of Sayangilah Daku, Sahabat! by T. Tomasoa. The data collection technique was done by reading and note-taking techniques, while the data analysis technique was carried out through stages of identification, classification, interpretation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that in the novel of Sayangilah Daku, Sahabat! By T. Tomasoa's found environmental wisdom representation in the form of a responsible attitude towards nature, living simply and in harmony with nature, and not harming nature. In addition, in the text of novel, ecological criticism is also found in the form of ecological criticism of uncontrolled waste, illegal logging, and ecological criticism to use the bombs and trawlers to obtain marine products.

This study aims to describe the implementation of character education through extracurricular dance activities at Bugisan Prambanan Klaten 2 state elementary school. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The data source of the study consisted of principals, dance teachers, class III-V teachers, and students of class III-V. The technique of collecting data is done by interviews, observation, and documentation. Check data validity using source, technique, and time triangulation. The data analysis technique used is the Milles and Huberman model where researchers conduct data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing.
