<p>Generational studies have an important research tradition in social and human sciences.</p><p>On the one hand, the speed of social change in the context of globalization imposes the need to research the transformations are identified both the subjectivity of the agents involved and its inclusion in the institutional matrix, specifically employment. Generation Z, (generally considered as the population group whose birth occurs after 1995) have unique psycho-social characteristics. Gen Z is characterized by a different set of values, beliefs, attitudes and ambitions that impact in their concrete action in organizational structures.</p><p>On the other hand, managers often have to deal with generational differences in the workplace. Organizations have members who belong to different generations; they had never before faced the challenge of having such a diverse group of members. The members of each historical generation are characterized by a different set of values, beliefs, attitudes and ambitions that are manifest in their concrete action in organizational structures.</p><p>Gen Z it’s the only one who can fully be considered "global", while its members were born in the consolidated context of globalization. Some salient features of the Generation Z can be summarized as follows. They’re the first fully born into a digital world. Social networks and technology are integrated into their lives. They are concerned about the challenges of the modern world (poverty, inequality, climate change, among others). They are self-expressive, more liberal and open to change. They often bore easily, with short attention spans. They do not like routine tasks. They want to achieve a good life-work balance and they are interested in a flexible work environment, as opposed to traditional work schedule. They are critical thinkers, who come with innovative and creative ideas to help. <strong></strong></p><p>Research design considered methodological triangulation. Data was collected with two techniques: a self-administered survey with multiple choice questions and attitudinal scales applied over a non-probabilistic sample by reasoned decision. According to the multi-method strategy, also it was conducted in-depth interviews.</p><p>Organizations constantly face new challenges. One of the biggest ones is to learn to manage a multi-generational scope of work. While Gen Z has not yet been fully incorporated (expected to do so in five years or so), many organizations have already begun to implement a series of changes in its recruitment and development. The main obstacle to retaining young talent is the gap between the expectations of iGen applicants and what companies offer. Members of the iGen expect not only a good salary and job stability, but also a clear career plan. Generation Z needs to have immediate feedback of their tasks. However, many organizations have yet to improve both motivation and monitoring practices. It is essential for companies to take a review of organizational practices anchored in the culture of the organization. <strong></strong></p>

<p><strong>Abstrak<br /></strong></p><p><strong></strong>Berdasarkan <em>survey</em>, salah kegiatan berinternet yang paling sering dilakukan adalah belanja <em>online</em> sebanyak 44.6%. Sedangkan generasi yang mendominasi penggunaan internet adalah generasi z. Generasi z merupakan generasi yang akrab dengan dunia digital dan berani mengambil resiko. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana generasi z melakukan proses pencarian informasi dalam melakukan belanja <em>online</em><em> </em>dengan menyebarkan angket serta melakukan wawancara mendalam. Penelitian ini menggunakan <em>mix method. </em>Adapun subjek dari penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Program Studi Ilmu Komunikasi, Universitas Tidar. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa ulasan produk di <em>e-commerce</em> merupakan sumber utama remaja generasi z dalam mencari informasi yakni sebesar 80.7%. Sumber informasi lainnya adalah ulasan produk di sosial media dan bertanya kepada teman. Adapun alasannya adalah untuk mencari <em>trend</em> terkini serta ulasan produk dapat dipercaya dan generasi z peduli dengan pendapat orang sekitar.</p><p> </p><p><em><strong>Abstract</strong></em></p><p><em>Based on the survey, one of the most frequently carried out internet activities was online shopping which is 44.6%. Meanwhile, the generation that dominates internet usage is z generation. Z generation z is a generation that is familiar with the digital world and is willing to take risks. This study aims to see how generation Z performs the information search process in online shopping. This study uses a mix method by distributing questionnaires and conducting in-depth interviews. Subject of this research is the students of communication in Tidar University. The results of this study indicate that product reviews on e-commerce is the main source of z generation adolescents in seeking information, which is 80.7%. Other sources of information are product reviews on social media and asking friends. The reasons for those are they look for the newest trend and product reviews are trustworthy and z generation cares what people think about them.</em></p>

The role of sellers is changing in a turbulent business environment and only the sellers who provide first class services and approach to them in a responsible way can survive among competitors. Customers perceive it as an added value and have a good feeling from buying. It is just sellers who are becoming the main factor that contributes to the competitiveness of a whole organization. The segmentation of customers into individual generations enables us to better understand their preferences and requirements, it is then possible to predict their tendencies in buying behaviour and thus increasing the success of sales. The main aim of the paper is to present the issue of different assessment of sellers’ behaviour by the customers of the Baby Boomers, Generation X, Generation Y and Generation Z. In connection with these differences, the aim of the research is to identify generational differences in the assessment of manipulative, assertive, stressed and engaged behaviour of sellers, as well as to analyse the determinants that affect the buying behaviour of customers. The research was conducted using a questionnaire method and mathematical-statistical methods on a sample of 207 respondents. The research results confirm the existence of statistically significant differences in assessing the determinants of sellers’ behaviour from the perspective of individual customer generations.

Generational differences in work values and workplace expectations have become a widely discussed research and intervention topic in recent years. However, little is known about Generation Z, who are now entering the labour market, and this presents challenges to both researchers and companies. Therefore, the primary purpose of the present study is to extend generation research by examining generational cohort differences in workplace expectations, specifically between Generation Z and the previous closest generation, Generation Y. The study is also intended to add to the limited empirical evidence of the workplace expectations of the most recent Generation Z. The theoretical framework guiding this study includes generational cohort theory and anticipatory psychological contract dimensions: job content, career development, social atmosphere, the fairness of organisational policies and rewards. The study was based on an online questionnaire survey. Data was collected from a sample of 1,000 respondents for the Czech Republic and 600 for the Slovak Republic including Generations Y and Z in the ratio 1:1. The generational differences in the workplace expectations, controlling the effects of gender and country, were investigated using multiple linear regression. The overall findings of the study indicate that both generations are more similar than different regarding their future employment expectations. We also find that those preferences may be more heterogeneous within a homogeneous group than across generational cohorts. The findings specifically indicate that some characteristics, such as geographical environment, professional experience and gender may shape employment expectations more than generational difference. The study suggests that companies also need to appreciate heterogeneity within a homogeneous generational group instead of treating current or prospective potential employees simply as members of one generation. The directions of future research, as well as the limitations of the study, are discussed.

The paper aims to examine post-truth, considering its theoretical aspects and following the communication grounds for its appearance. The paper suggests that the Post-truth Era is a result of algorithmically managed social interactions and the automation of communication. The Internet of Things, the ubiquitous media presence and the algorithmic power transform „The Age of Mechanical Reproduction” (Walter Benjamin) into „a Posttruth Era”. In the digital world of the 21st century – a world completely fragmented into data and market segments, the media technologies not only reproduce and re-create reality, but also take the next step and create an entirely new reality. Based on the critical survey of various articles and theoretical approaches the paper identifies the problematic areas that could engender a future discussion, and draw attention to post-truth as a problem and its relevance to the modern world.

AbstractBackground: Research in business ethics shows that individual differences can influence one’s ethical behaviour. In addition, variability in attitudes towards ethical issues among different generations is emphasized. Still, results are inconclusive and call for an additional examination of possible generational differences with regard to ethics and ethical values.Objectives: Our objective is to test if the perception of the importance of business ethics, attitudes towards ethical issues and aspects influencing ethical behaviour, differ among the four generations currently present in the workforce.Methods/Approach: Theoretical implications are empirically tested on a sample of 107 individuals, members of Baby Boomers, Generation X, Millennials and Generation Z.Results: In general, the results indicate that there are little or no generational differences related to the analysed aspects of business ethics. The significant difference is present only in the importance given to factors that influence ethical decision-making: (i) formal rules and procedures, (ii) performance management system and (iii) job pressures, between the members of Generation Z and older generations.Conclusions: In spite of employee diversity, ethics continues to present an important aspect of the business environment. Thus, organizations need to be oriented towards creating ethical leaders and a positive ethical climate that ensures that ethical values and behaviours are present throughout the organization.

The key objective of the teaching-learning process (TLP) is to impart the knowledge to the learner. In the digital world, the computer-based system emphasis teaching through online mode known as e-learning. The expertise level of the learner in learned subjects can be measured through e-assessment in which multiple choice questions (MCQ) is considered to be an effective one. The assessment questions play the vital role which decides the ability level of a learner. In manual preparation, covering all the topics is difficult and time consumable. Hence, this article proposes a system which automatically generates two different types of question helps to identify the skill level of a learner. First, the MCQ questions with the distractor set are created using named entity recognizer (NER). Further, based on blooms taxonomy the Subjective questions are generated using natural language processing (NLP). The objective of the proposed system is to generate the questions dynamically which helps to reduce the occupation of memory concept.

Most undergraduate students today are part of the millennial generation. However, the next wave of students—Generation Z—are just beginning to enter universities. Although these groups share many similarities, they each have unique characteristics that create challenges in the classroom. Incorporating technology, engaging students with adaptive learning activities, and understanding basic generational differences are ways to limit the effects of generational conflict while keeping both millennials and Generation Z students engaged in learning. It is important to understand basic differences and distinctions across generations for developing pedagogy that reaches these unique student populations.

PurposeYoung consumers are recognized as an important and lucrative segment for the businesses across the globe. While initial steps have been taken to understand them, majority of the existing works consider both Millennials and Generation Z as a single and homogeneous market segment. The purpose of this study is to explore the consumer decision-making styles which are prevalent among Indian Millennials and Generation Z e-shoppers, and how significantly they differ from one another on each of those decision-making attributes.Design/methodology/approachThis exploratory study used the generational cohort theory (GCT) as a framework. The psychographic statements (Questionnaire items) employed were adopted from several past researches on store orientation and catalog orientation, and they were rephrased to suit to the context of Indian online shopping. The principal components factor analysis with promax rotation has been used to unearth the underlying decision-styles among 503 survey participants. Subsequently, the ANOVA model was run to examine the mean differences between the cohorts.FindingsThe factor analysis has revealed that frugality (Price), convenience (Home) and social desirableness are the most dominant shopping orientations (decision-styles) that prevail among Indian (Millennials and Generation Z) online shoppers though in varying degrees. The probing of ANOVA results suggested that, though both the cohorts favor e-shopping, Generation Z are more enthusiastic about online shopping than their Millennial counterparts do.Practical implicationsThough Generation Z and Millennials share few characteristics between them, they exhibit different consumer behaviors. Marketers need to customize their value offerings and marketing communications that resonate well with each generational cohort.Originality/valueAlmost all the existing research works that have been conducted so far on generational cohorts are from Western and European countries and one could confidently say that those findings cannot be applied for the developing nations such as India which is a complex and diverse country in terms of its language, custom, religion and practices with troublesome pasts. Moreover, this is the first empirical work to be conducted to unearth the generational differences that exist between Generation Z and Millennials to the best of authors' knowledge.


The first chapter addresses the phenomenon and concept of a network organization. It is a form that is more and more present in today's digital world. It does not solely concern typical network, virtual organizations that are established and operate only on the internet. We ever more frequently see organizations that go beyond their own traditional organizational structures. They are often interdisciplinary and cover a wide range of seemingly different areas of life and economy. Network organizations are particularly common where knowledge and innovation are created; therefore, they are extremely popular when research and development (R&D) and scientific projects are implemented. How widespread network structures are in the life of today's organizations will be established by means of the survey results that will be described in this chapter and in the further part of this monograph.
