The study sought to use practical activities to teach basic electronics concepts to pre- service teachers from Atebubu College of Education in Ghana. Action research was used to carry out the investigation. A total of 200 pre-service teachers from first year were conveniently selected for the study. The instruments for the study were achievement test items and questionnaire. The result of the study indicated that the performance of the experimental group was significantly better than the pre-service teachers from the control group. It was recommended that the Principal and the Head of Science Department of Atebubu College of Education should organize workshops, seminars, and in-service training on the effective use of practical activity methods in teaching concept of electronics.

This paper attempts to explore whether there is significant difference of achievement in vocabulary between students taught by using pictures and those are not. The subject of this study is the first year students of SLTP Muhammadiyah Simo Susukan, Semarang where the sample contains 50 students that is divided into experimental group (with treatment) and control group (without treatment). The data is gathered from participants’ score obtained from pre test and post test. Using t test as technique of data analysis, result shows that students taught by using pictures perform better than those are not. The objective of this research is to find out the effect of the use of some Google educational applications in the process of teaching the computer curriculum on the achievement of students of the first year in college of Education / University of Samarra. The researcher used the semi-experimental method. The sample consisted of (38) male and female students The first year in the Department of biology at the college of Education, Samarra University, was divided into two groups, one experimental, consisting of (19) students and was studied using some Google educational applications through integrated education. The control group consisted of (19). I studied using the traditional method of curing Which is (the lecture method), note that the two groups (experimental and control) equal in number and unequal in the number of variables that could affect the safety of the design follicular Search, the researcher chose a number of topics related to the curriculum of the computer curriculum, which is taught to students of the first year in the college of Education, University of Samarra. These topics are (computer components, electronic penetration, computer virus, operating system). The teaching of objectives for each of these subjects was determined in light of the objectives of the researcher that used a set of research tools. it included (50) questionnaires, including (25 questions of the type of correctness and errors), (25 questions of multiple choice type), and the researcher used some Google educational applications in teaching group students (Google Gmail, Google Docs, Google sites, Google+, Google calendar), as well as a web site that includes curriculum materials for the computer curriculum. The researcher used a set of statistical methods including: arithmetic mean, standard deviation coefficient, T-Test) for independent samples, and the research reached the following results:There are statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05) between the mean scores of the experimental group and the scores of the control group students in the post-achievement test for the experimental group studied using some Google educational applications.In light of the findings of the current research, the researcher recommended a number of recommendations, including the need to use Google's educational applications in teaching computer curriculum in the colleges of education and need to provide Internet service in computer laboratories in universities.

This thesis is focused on the investigation of the effect of applying animal cartoon pictures on students’ achievement in writing narrative text. This study aims to find whether applying animal cartoon pictures significantly affect the students’ writing achievement or not. The data in this study were obtained by administering a written test. The population was the 2015/2016 first year (grade XI) of SMA Swasta Nusantara Lubuk Pakam and 66 students were taken as the sample by using random sampling. The sample was divided into two groups, experimental and control groups. The experimental group was taught by applying animal cartoon pictures while the control group without animal cartoon pictures (x = lecturing). The data were taken the scores from the pre-test and post-test to both experimental and control groups. These data were analyzed by using t-test. The result of computing the t-test obviously showed that t-observed is higher than t-table (5.21 >1,67) with the degree of freedom 64 (df =N-2) at the level significance 0,05 one tail test. It showed that the application of animal cartoon pictures significantly affected the students of SMA Swasta Nusantara Lubuk Pakam achievement in writing narrative text.

This study was aimed at finding out the effect of using Noting, Interacting, Summarizing, and Prioritizing Strategy on Students’ Achievement in Reading Comprehension. This study was designed with the experimental design. The population of this study was the first year students at academic 2013/2012 of SMA swasta YP St. Paulus Martubung, Medan. There were fourty students taken as the sample of the research. The sample was divided into two groups: the first group (20 students) as the experimental group and the second group (20 students) as the control group. The experimental group was taught by Using Noting, Interacting, Summarizing, and Prioritizing Strategy, while the control group was taught by using conventional method. The instrument for collecting the data was multiple choices which consisted of 40 items. To obtain the reliability of the test, the researcher used Kuder -Richardson (KR-21) formula. The calculation showed that the reliability of the test was 0.75. The data were calculated by using t-test formula. The result of the analysis shows that t-observed (4.98) was higher than t-table (2.025) at the level of significance (α) 0.05 and the degree of freedom (df) 38. Therefore, the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected and alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. It meant that teaching reading comprehension by using Noting, Interacting, Summarizing, and Prioritizing Strategy significantly affects reading comprehension.

Kodály-inspired pedagogy enables students to participate effectively in a music course by engaging in active musical interactions with folk songs and melodies. The purpose of this study was to explore the effects of Kodály-inspired pedagogy on recorder performance and attitudes toward music of secondary school students. A quasi-experimental design was used in the study. The experimental group was taught using Kodály-inspired pedagogy and the control group using the general music teaching methods for 9 weeks. A two-way mixed-design analysis of variance (ANOVA) and content analysis were used to analyze the data. A Recorder Performance Grading Key, music course attitude scale, and open-ended questions were used to collect the data. Consequently, the findings indicated that Kodály-inspired pedagogy had a significant effect on the students’ recorder performance but the researchers could not find a significant effect on students’ attitudes toward the music course. Moreover, students in the experimental group reported improvement in their recorder performance and attitudes toward music education. The researchers recommended including information about the implementation of Kodály-inspired pedagogy in music teacher textbooks, providing in-service training for teachers to enable them to use Kodály-inspired pedagogy.

Offering a series of diagnosis and individual remedial learning activities for a general class by means of web and multimedia technology can overcome the dilemma of conventional diagnosis and remedial instruction. The study proposes a three-layer conceptual framework and adopts a two-tier diagnostic test theory to develop a web-based two-tier diagnostic test and remedial learning management system called “the Dr. System.” The study also designs the two-tier diagnostic test items of electro-magnetic concepts and the related multimedia remedial learning materials based on the theory of modular course for the purpose of investigating the remedial learning effects. In addition, the study helps the participants eliminate their misconception through a quasi-experiment at an elementary school in a metropolitan area of northern Taiwan. The results show that the learners of the experimental group who received the treatment under the Dr. System performed significantly better than those who took the traditional remedial class. The study also indicates that the web-based two-tier diagnostic test helps us understand learners’ misconceptions. As a result, it also provides learners useful remedial multimedia materials, which are necessary for them to eliminate their individual misconceptions in the remedial learning process.

BackgroundWhilst there is evidence to suggest paramedics experience significant stress when working in the ambulance setting little is known about the experiences of first year paramedic students. This research aimed to: (i) identify whether levels of stress, anxiety and depression experienced by first year paramedic students changed after ambulance placement compared to a control group, and (ii) identify the main perceived and actual sources of stress around ambulance placement.MethodsA before-and-after quasi-experimental design was used to compare whether the experience of ambulance placement altered the levels of stress, anxiety and depression in an experimental group that attended an ambulance placement (n = 20) and the control group who did not (n = 10). Online surveys encompassing the Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale (DASS-21) and qualitative questions about sources of stress were concurrently deployed to both the experimental and control groups before and after the ambulance placement. Participants were first year paramedic students working in Queensland Ambulance Service, Australia.ResultsThere was a significant reduction in levels of stress in participants after undertaking their first ambulance placement (Mdn = -4.00) when compared to a control group (Mdn = 0.00), U = 52.5, p = .035, n2 = 0.15. Responses to survey questions suggest anticipation about experiencing death and dying of patients was the most frequently reported stressor of student paramedics before undertaking ambulance placements, however insecurity about knowledge, competence and fear of failure was the most frequently experienced stressor reported after completing ambulance placements.ConclusionsThe findings from this study suggest that the fear of the unknown may be worse than the reality. Anticipatory stress is the foremost problem for first year paramedic students attending their first ambulance placement. Placement pre-briefing should focus on educational interventions to build knowledge and skills competency to reduce stress levels and fear of failure.

Currently, there is a rapid development of commercial salmon farming in Russia, which has grown almost 3 times in terms of production since 2013 and exceeded 116 thousand tons in 2020. In turn, this requires the appropriate development of the feed base and the development of methods for the effective use of fairly expensive fi sh feed. From these positions the involvement of the feed additive “Vinivet”, which is a waste of beekeeping in the feed production for fi sh as a protein additive is relevant. The feed additive “Vinivet” contains bee products such as bee bread and slumgum, a significant complex of vitamins, amino acids, macro- and microelements. The purpose of the work was to assess the influence of the feed additive “Vinivet” on the livability of juveniles, growth rate and feed consumption of rainbow trout of Steelhead salmon breed when growing in a recirculating aquaculture system. For the experiment juveniles with an average juvenile weight of 2,37±0,72 g have been selected, from which the control and 3 experimental groups have been formed. The control group has received a standard starting compound feed as the main diet, the 1st experimental group in addition to the main diet has received the additive “Vinivet” in the amount of 2,5 % of the mass of the main diet, the 2nd experimental group has received 5,0 % of the additive, and the 3rd experimental group in the first week received 2,5 % of the additive, and from the second week of studies the dose of the additive was increased to 5 %. The conducted studies have shown that the inclusion of the feed additive “Vinivet” in the feed when growing juveniles of Steelhead salmon is most advisable by introducing it at the dosage of 2,5 % of the mass of the main diet in the first week of cultivation, followed by the increase in the dose to 5,0 %, which allows achieving the highest fi sh productivity of pools in the recirculating aquaculture system compared to all variants of the experiment and by 24 % compared to the control group.

This research aimed to determine the effectiveness of the Cooperative Problem-Based Learning (CPBL) Model in Learning Statics. The experimental class's research method was experimental, in which the experimental class was applied with the CPBL model, and the control class was applied with conventional models. A simple random sample carried out sampling for the experimental group and the control group. The instrument used was the learning outcomes test. The findings show that the experimental group's student learning outcomes are better than those of the control group. Thus, there is an increase in learning outcomes, and student effective results on the CPBL model in statics learning are in a very good category. It is concluded that the application of the CPBL model is more effective than conventional learning.
